We flew to Phoenix and if you need a rental car it is about 188 miles easy driving. We stayed at the Quechan Casino Resort, only a couple of miles to the border. It is a short walk into the Mexico border from US side parking. Access both ways was no problem. LOS ALGODONES is not a bad border town but mainly filled with Dentist and Optomertist. You have people trying to get you a dentist but just say I have an appoinment. We will go back and appreciate the money we saved. Dr. Vega is worth the effort.

We had gone to our…read moreusual dentist here in AZ and they stated we needed approximately $8k in treatments between the two of us. I had seen a program about 3 months prior that talked about the high quality of dental care available at the "Molar City" in Mexico (aka Los Algodones). Remembering that show, I did a bit of research online and decided that Dental Solutions would be our clinic of choice, and I'm so glad I made that decision. First off, getting there from the Phoenix area was relatively easy. Just like taking a trip to Yuma. The border crossing was a very smooth and easy process and once on the other side we called a number gives to us by the clinic and were picked up in their shuttle car by a friendly and personable driver. In reality, the clinic is walking distance from the border (about 4 blocks) and we actually walked back, but the shuttle was a nice option as well. The clinic itself is a newer 3-story building, well constructed and designed. It had the same quality of design and feel as our regular dentists' office in upscale Scottsdale. The front desk staff was friendly and the check-in process was rather simple and straight-forward. In minutes after check in my wife and I both headed back separately and were examined and evaluated by the staff. Everyone spoke clear English and they confirmed what work needed to be done. The cost for all the work that was suggested was approximately 25% of what we we were quoted by our US dentist, and even with adding Zoom whitening it was still drastically less than what we would pay in the states. A big positive was that they freely accepted IS credit cards including Amex, which showed me that they have confidence in the work they provide given the patients power to dispute with cards. Once we had our procedures it went very smooth.. The dentist and dental techs involved were friendly and communicative and did a great job. All the equipment was new and state-of-the-art--again feeling no different than our Scottsdale dental experiences. A month and a half after doing work and everything feels great. Our teeth are healthy and white. We will be going back in September and bringing our teenage kids as well. As an added bonus, the city of Algodones is quaint and charming and we enjoyed a nice lunch and some shopping afterwards. If you need major dental work don't pay insane prices just because you live in the US--I'd strongly suggest you give Dental Solutions a call. You'll get great care and service at a price that is affordable without sacrificing quality of care.

She needed a deep cleaning that needed to be done in two sessions taking an hour each and cost $500 each. Sounded like a lot but they seemed to be caring and we assumed it would be done by a dentist not just a hygienist so we made an appointment. The morning of her appointment they called to say they could do both bottom and top the same day. She responded that she had an appointment an hour and a half after her appointment with them so that wouldn't work out. They said they could get both done in an hour. So here's the rub. Basic cleaning takes an hour and is done by a hygienist and costs under $100. Turns out the deep cleaning was done by a hygienist, not a dentist, takes an hour and costs $500. If you do both at the same time, it takes an hour and costs $1,000. They referred her to a specialist for a root canal and supplied xrqys to him. He wanted to do his own X-rays and there was no discussion about cost. After the X-rays they confirmed she needed a root canal and the cost would be $2,500. She declined feeling that cost was excessive and was then told she would have to pay $500 for the x-rays.

He spent maybe 5 minutes with me before stating he wouldn't help me, leaving food impacted into my wisdom tooth instead of rinsing it and leaving me with a molar that is completely broken off in half. I happened to look at my phone, it was 4:42pm as I was walking out the door with my husband and I look over to the right and see Dr. Garner hauling tail out the side door to leave. So now I know why he didn't want to bother with me, he wanted to leave instead. The look of surprise on his face when we made eye contact in the parking lot said a lot. Not only did he NOT relieve my pain that has kept me up for 4 days he also gave me this. Less then 12 hours after my awful visit, I woke up with a swollen painful lip that has blistered. If I can attach photos, I will. Today is the second day with the lip blisters in the corner of my mouth, the same side he was using the Instruments to look and either he used dirty gloves, or dirty instruments. I did not walk into the office with this rash of oozing blisters and since it is spreading, I may need to go to the urgent care for medical assistance. I would never recommend this place. How is someone like him a dentist. He did not care what so ever about my pain or the quality of care he was giving. I am seriously considering filing a complaint with my insurance and the Health Dept.

I had one tooth in the front that was sensitive and the crown came off 3 times in the states. 3 dentists in the states glued the crown on but it would come off again a short time later. I got a different hygienist. I asked her to clean my teeth manually because the sonic cleaner vibrates on my nerves and makes me jump in the chair. She seemed very put out by my request so I said I could reschedule with someone else. She reluctantly did the cleaning. My mouth was very sore for a week and I received a letter from the dentist personally telling me I had been disrespectful and not to come back. This was an unexpected surprise and highly unprofessional.

I called other clinics and language barrier was an issue. The patient coordinator, Andy, spoke perfect English and answered all of my (many and specific) questions thoroughly. He made me feel valued as a potential client and walked through the process of their dental practice, pricing, and timing of making crowns, root canals, along with whitening and cleanings, etc which meant getting a hotel nearby for the 2-3 days to complete the list of dental work. There's also Andy's detailed steps with crossing the border, which was helpful and greatly appreciated. He explained the options of driving or walking across the border, where to park, Andy shared hotel recommendations, and travel tips. It was easier in the summer slower months vs snowbird season. Don't forget your passport! Then once you are actually at the clinic, you're greeted by very friendly staff. Many techs and service reps! Thank you Doris, Carla, Andy, and Jesus! Nice offering of coffee+water in the lobby, good WiFi, the clinic is clean, safe and after being there for hours and days, it's comfortable... as much as it can be for dental work. Dr. Santiago was awesome -- Friendly and professional. I appreciated his communications-- questions and checking in on how I was doing, he explained what he's doing, and made honest recommendations. Arriving for my appointment I was taken back at my appointment time. The front office staff are very professional and friendly. After x-rays and photos I returned and waited for the evaluation. After about 20 minutes I was called and they reviewed my choices. I knew everything that needed to be done from two other quotes done in the US. I also knew the manufacturer of materials used. Their plan was spot on, three implants, crowns, root canal and crown. Cost 8200. It's been about a year 1.5 yrs and I am very happy with the work that was done. It's a process so I had to return a few times.My last visit was to have my teeth cleaned again while my wife had her invisalign checked. The doctor came in and looked over his work, all is well All the doctors were very thorough and detailed on their work, Very impressed with the group and would highly recommend them. They are located in Algodones MX. It's a short walk from the border entrance. Felt very safe in the city.
