Dr. K is not just my surgeon - he is my savior! I had a gastric bypass done 16+ years ago and followed it about a year later with a tummy tuck and breast implants with a different doctor. A couple years after the procedures I started having some complications. Too make a long story short and not get into details - I consulted with a few surgeons and they either didn't want to mess with me or gave me little confidence. My personal physician referred me to a surgeon through my insurance and the options they were giving we're going to leave me some nasty scars - at point the surgeon told me they were going to 'fillet me open' and I was going to have a "T" scar across my abdomen. After the money I had put into a few re-do procedures, I was dreading the scars. My wife and I can't say enough good things about Dr. K and his nurse Karen. They are simply outstanding people. It is a lengthy story.. my wife had an accident that resulted in facial fractures. We were in Dana Point but live in Redlands. The emergency department in Laguna Beach referred her to a maxillofacial specialist who does not take our insurance. She went to her primary care doctor today n Redlands who referred her to someone that could not see her for over a month. Eventually she decided to just pay out of pocket for a consultation with the doctor referred by the hospital. He couldn't see her but referred her to Dr. K who then saw her right away. Wow. Very nice person. I went to Dr. K for a consult about a keloid and I wasn't charged. Since I told him I had Kaiser insurance, he told me I could actually see a Kaiser Plastic surgeon to get some steriod shots for a lot cheaper than his office. He told me he would love to treat me but if I could save some money, why not? Wow. I was so happy for the advice he gave me. I also like that he was more on the conservative side. I had previously seen an ENT (Ears, nose, throat) specialist and he said he wanted to cut the keloid off right away. Dr. K said why not try the steriod shots first before another surgery which could potentially end with a bigger problem than what I have now. I don't know if Kaiser will be able to help me or not but if not, I would definitely go back to Dr. K to help me solve this annoying problem. read more

Today has been a rough day all around!! We got a call from the school nurse that our son had slipped and fallen down the stairs on the school playground, and cut open his lip. She said we needed to come pick him up and take him to the Dr ASAP, she thought he needed stitches. We rushed from work to school to pick him up, and saw his laceration- his tooth had gone thru his lip! The nurse recommended we go to the ER since they had a plastic surgeon they could call in. It was 4:30pm at this time, and in a panic we called a local high rated plastic surgeon to see what he recommended, as we wanted to avoid the ER at all lengths, as they can put kids under for this. In the school parking lot we called Dr Kim and he asked to facetime us, and took a look at My sons lip, and even though he was closing in 10 min, he said to bring him in and he would check it for If you ever need a surgeon last minute who goes above and beyond, can't recommend Dr. Kim in mission viejo enough!!! He is amazing!! Our son ended up getting 4 stitches and had a minor muscle tearing, which Dr. Kim fixed. And he was closing, and didn't have to help us. Dr. Kachenmeister is one of the most caring, gifted, and ethical medical professionals I have ever met. Our first encounter was when our beautiful 5-year-old daughter split the forehead over her eye all the way to the bone. We were terrified, Dr. K just happened to be in the hospital and came over to the ER to help. He spent four hours carefully repairing the two-inch-long gash, we thought he must have been a celebrity because dozens of hospital employees were crowding around the small room to see him work. Today there is absolutely no evidence of the accident and her face is beautiful as ever. The second opportunity was when my wife needed some reconstructive breast surgery. Her case was very difficult, but Dr. K spent five and a half hours in surgery going late into an evening making sure everything was perfect. She looks and feels amazing, back to how she looked thirty years earlier. Truly incredible work, and even more amazing patient care. The extensive surgery caused some pain while she was in recovery, when she needed a different prescription on a Saturday, Dr. K met me at his office just to fill out the script! My other daughter recently fell in a bath tub and fractured her nose. We went the traditional medical route with tests and scopes and was told surgery could be needed. When it still caused her pain, we thought to check with Dr. K, he made a special nose mask that she wore, that helped her without the need for surgery! The entire office team is very professional and caring, you are treated with respect and integrity. This review is long overdue. Back in May of this year I woke up to a deflated breast implant. At that point I had my saline implants for 20 years and they were over the muscle. I was new to the area and the doctor who did them in San Diego retired long ago. I received a few referrals from a Plastic Surgeon in West Hills of different breast augmentation doctors in Orange County. Dr. K was one of them. The moment I met Dr. K I was immediately comfortable and knew he would do what was best for me. He explained everything so clearly and let me know all my options as well as complications that could arise. I had a lot of scar tissue that had built up over the 20 year period that needed to be cleaned up. He even offered to give me referrals of other doctors in case I was interested. I ended up getting my implants removed and a breast lift. The results are amazing and I wish I did this years ago. I thought it would be weird not having implants but Dr. K made my breasts look so natural that I would never get them put back in again. He's a very nice doctor, great bedside manor, so I was shocked and disappointed that he and his office (nurse Karen) took my extra money I was reimbursed from my insurance for a breast reduction. We talked extensively about me paying up front then the check reimbursement would be mine since their fee was met ahead of time. But when the time came time to give me my insurance check they saw the extra amount I would be getting and their greed took over and was more important to keep my extra money than a keep our relationship. They did not stand by their word and took my extra $2000 and refused to give it to me! Remember....I paid them in advance! So it wasn't their check to keep! And....Keep in mind I've done this before with another surgery and the doctor did not keep my insurance money. These people at this office are very very dishonest.
