My kids absolutely love going to Dr Rob's office! We've visited them every 6 months for the past 4 years. The staff is efficient and professional. All of the hygienists have been patient and kind to my kids. Appointments are on time and they send us frequent appointment reminders. In the waiting room, there are video games, tv, books and an overhead train track. The kids can choose a movie/show to watch while the hygienist are doing the teeth cleaning. There are cute cartoon pillow pets for the kids to sit on. Everything is clean and modern. At the end of the appointment, the kids get to choose toys from a treasure chest. It's pretty pricey but luckily our services are mostly covered by insurance. We have to pay upfront but they send in the bills to the insurance and we ultimately get reimbursed. Dr. Perrachia has seen my kids since they were 2yrs old. He has been an amazing dentist recommending only the necessary work ,he is patient with the kids and parents. He has always taken his time to talk to us and explain the procedures. The office staff is super professional. The office environment is kid friendly, they have movies for kids to watch. They also have toys for those kids that need to snuggle during their visit and prizes. The facilities are well kept. The only bad thing is that you have to pay and then they submit the paperwork to the insurance. So you will be out of a few bucks for a few days. They process the forms rather quickly. read more

We have been coming to Dr. Peracchia's office since my older child was 2 and she is now 5. I started having reservations about this office during the COVID pandemic when my younger child had a cavity and we tried to contact the office for a virtual visit. No response at all and we ultimately went to Toothworks, which is much farther from our apartment (and was really great). I didn't really fault them because every office's response to the pandemic is different and I'm sure based on the specific circumstances of the staff. We went back to this office around November for both kids, and I immediately felt the difference in terms of "upsell" pressure -- they convinced me that my older daughter needed an X-ray though she had no complaints about any tooth pain or visible cavities (the X-ray found no cavities; I later found out that this was likely ordered because our insurance starts covering X-rays when the child is five -- when I realized that they subjected my child to unnecessary radiation to make the insurance claim, I was pretty livid). They threw in these extra fluoride toothpastes, without telling us that they were charging us $20 each for a small sample. They insisted my younger child (with the cavity) needed to come in every 3 months, though Toothworks (which again, during the pandemic, scheduled several virtual visits and walked me through toothbrushing/flossing/mouthwashes, looking out for pain, etc. and scheduled an in person visit as soon as they were permitted to open) said 6-9 months to monitor the SDF was fine. I got really fed up with this office just recently when, in connection with an year end audit, I realized that I never got reimbursed for the $1200 I paid for the November visit (I'm usually reimbursed in part). I called my dental plan and it turns out they sent an $800 check to this office mid-November, and this office just never bothered to tell me about it (and again, the reimbursement check should have been sent to me in the first place). It was relatively easy to get this office to send me a check for what my insurance reimbursed me (but remitted to the office because the office "inadvertently" filled out the claim form so the check would go to them) but I feel like they would have just kept the check had I not checked. My entire recent experience, especially in comparison with my Toothworks experience, made me realize how generally dishonest and unprofessional this office is. In the three years we have been here, we have never seen Dr. Peracchia but have seen only dental technicians (who are generally very sweet but, in light of my other experience, completely clueless and clearly just technicians who do ordinary course procedures -- like cleaning and "scheduled" X-rays without actually checking the condition of the teeth). I'm writing this review because I really would not have known any better about proper dental care for young children had I not been forced to go to another practice. I'm not sure if we will switch to Toothworks because they are so far away from my apartment but I would warn parents of young children to stay far away from this practice. read more

AMAZING dental office!!! Dr. Aura has been both my daughters pediatric dentist for the past three years and we absolutely love her!! She is SUPER friendly and extremely professional and knowledgeable. She fully explains everything and keeps me informed of my girls' dental health as she is performing her check up. The office is the absolute perfect place for children, they get to play the Wii and watch movies while they are waiting to be seen. But the fun doesn't stop there, the kids get to pick a movie from a six page list of movies to watch while they get their teeth cleaned. When they are all done with the check-up they get to pick a prize, which is the icing on the cake for my kids. They really do love going to the dentist because its such a great experience for them and they are a hard bunch to please. I want to qualify this by saying that I came here with a 2.5 year old who is still pretty noise sensitive and needed a calm and relaxed experience. She did not get that here. I think this would probably be a 5-star office for a five or six year old child who has more tolerance. They have a lot of great features: - bright and scrupulously clean waiting room and office with warm and friendly staff - lots of toys and books to keep a child occupied - televisions over the dental chairs, you can choose from a huge array of movies and the video will play and keep your child distracted from what's going on in their mouth - pile of stuffed animals they'll let a child hold in the chair - a room where two children can get procedures done together But here are the issues I had so you can figure out if these would be a problem for you and your kid: - The office was busy and moving at a fast pace. I did not feel comfortable saying in the exam room, look, she's going to need five-ten minutes to calm down again before we can keep going. - The exam rooms were good-sized but the office space overall was cramped. Brushing demo station was in a narrow hallway outside several exam rooms, with crying kids audible and staff hurrying back and forth. - A combo of unrealistic, contradictory, and just plain odd advice for brushing my child's teeth. I should be above her, below her, I should have her in my lap with her head bent over my arm (?), and I should be flossing her back teeth (a two year old? we who are about to be bitten twice a day salute you) - I did get one useful bit of info: DON'T rinse after brushing, you want the fluoride to stay on the teeth. - Not shockingly, my child couldn't handle having her entire mouth brushed by a stranger for 10 minutes with the whirring toothbrush and weird tasting toothpaste. Mommy is lucky if I get the brush in there for a minute in our bathroom at home. The hygienist apparently expected us to hold her down thrashing and screaming -- she literally said, "When they're crying their mouth is usually open and we can get in there." IDK, I don't disagree with anyone who feels differently, but if she was complaining of tooth pain, I'd hold her for the dentist to look inside and see if there was a cavity or infection. I am not willing to hold her down screaming and thrashing for fifteen minutes to have her milk teeth polished. My goals here were, I wanted my child to have a positive first experience at the dentist (FAILED), and I wanted to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with her teeth (FAILED, dentist didn't even get to see in her mouth). So, I'm pretty frustrated. It felt like letting some unrealistic script of perfection (and the convenience of the office) trump the big picture of improving her dental health and helping me move her in the right direction. Will try again somewhere else in six months. read more

The reason I gave this place an one star is very simple. The front desk staff is not telling the truth. The staff promised me to submit my claim to my insurance company since this doctor is out of network. But my dental insurance company does cover out of network doctors. It's been a while after our visiting and nothing happened. I called my insurance company and they said they never received any claim from this doctor. Then I called the front desk again, the lady told me she will send it one more time. However, after more than two weeks, I called my dental insurance company again. Nobody received any claims! This place is very expensive and everything you need to pay at the service. I feel the doctor and the front desk staff are all very eager to earn money. But not really care about their patients. I would not recommend this place to my friends. I also decided to give my two cents through yelp to give other people some hints about this place. read more

I was referred to Dr. Rob when my then 6yo was traumatized by her previous dental experiences. She needed lots of work that required her to be comfortable & most important, we wanted her to trust her dentist! Dr. Rob and his staff went out of their way to make that happen. She's now 14 and our 3 younger children look forward to their checkups too. We're really glad that they were able to bypass any bad dental experiences. The office is beautiful and child-friendly, and they make a point to focus on the comfort of their patients. Waiting room has video games, books/ magazines...good experience very time. read more

Dr. Rob and his staff are warm and welcoming. The office is top notch and definitley the kind of place where a child can feel at ease. My daughter has been a patient here since she was two. I initially brought her to my dentist, but the patience needed for a child just wasn't there. I brought her to Dr. Rob on the recommendation of another parent at her preschool. I was skeptical because of our first experience at the dentist, but was hopeful because he deals with pediatric patients exclusively. She's eight now and absolutely loves going to the dentist (thanks guys)! The entire staff takes pride in the work they do, and it is reflected in the quality of care provided to the patients. Caring and fun! My daughter (2 1/2 years old) is terrified of doctors offices. She was a crying mess when she arrived at this office but with the help of Angie (the dental hygienist, who my daughter thinks is the "tooth fairy") and Dr Rob (who my daughter thinks is "king of the tooth fairies") they made the appointment fun and we got through it! Once they heard my daughter thought Dr Rob was a "tooth fairy king" he appeared in the exam room wearing big crown and she fell in love! My daughter left with a clean mouth, some goodies and a sparkly magic wand. I can't say enough about the entire practice! From the moment we made the appointment I knew we were in good hands but i had no idea how above and beyond they would go to make a scared little girl's dentist appointment a fun and pleasurable experience. read more

I agree the office is well renovated, but his pricing is terribly expensive. Every time I bring my children they attempt to upsell me with unneeded services such as panoramic x-ray. I inquired is it necessary, no, but it is advised. I'll pass thank you. Bringing one child for a checkup with no work done should not cost $400. We are changing dentists now read more

Dr. Rob and his team provide an A+ service. The TVs on the ceiling are awesome but truly nothing compared to the kindness of the team who works there. One of the nurses even sent a handwritten note to my younger daughter to let her know what a great job she did in the appointment. My 4 year old just had a cavity filled and it couldn't have gone better. The nurse took the time to introduce her to the tools they would be using and how they would feel and she even got to choice the color and scent of her mask for the laughing gas. To top it off, Dr. Rob gave her vanilla ice cream after the procedure was over. I highly recommend this practice! read more

If I could give higher than 5 stars, I would! I am older than most of their patients (19), and always have a great experience every time I come in. I actually like going to the dentist now - I'm not exaggerating! They have a variety of flavor options for the fluoride treatment and even for the laughing gas. I usually get vanilla - much better than inhaling the usual unpleasant sterilized smell of medical equipment. Best of all, they have hundreds of movies available to watch during your cleaning! Every hygienist I have had was incredibly friendly and pleasant, as well as all of the other staff - only one of the reasons this office is so comfortable. I had what was only my second cavity drilled by Dr. Aura. My first cavity, at my old dentist, was so unpleasant and tense that I was pretty stressed at the start of my visit with Dr. Aura. However, she was great with me - she made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. It's not just kids who don't like the dentist - adults don't either! It was refreshing to be reassured and not have to pretend I was completely unaffected by the fact that I was about to get my teeth drilled into. There was zero pain and discomfort, and she let me know when she was almost finished. However, by then I was totally relaxed! The vanilla scent was very calming, and I was so immersed in Harry Potter that I didn't even notice I was getting my cavity filled. She finished quickly and made sure the filling was comfortable before sending me on my happy way - with some fruity chapstick, too. They also have a ton of other prizes for kids. Love this place - I wish I went here when I was a kid, I wouldn't have been so afraid of the dentist! The filling is very comfortable, too.
