And I was so surprised and happy to hear that everything looks good in mouth BUT that's the whole purpose of having such great dentistry! I am delighted with this Practice and it appears immaculate, which is important to me. Such a warm, hospitable reception desk, each specializing in different areas to help you. What I also am impressed by is that they do have additional specialist dentists but they don't have to send you over to see them because they come to the office so it makes things easy, especially if under duress. Can't get it a better location than 46th St., Madison Ave! It's just wonderful with many eateries along the street in case you have a guest or escort coming with you so they can pop outside to grab a bite! I love everything about this Practice and how many of us can say we look forward to dentistry! They are thorough but gentle. Dr. Wong really messed up my front tooth after a serious incident. The root canal wasn't done properly, and she selected a bad material for the crown (too thin for a front tooth- I've gotten the opinion of more than 1 professional at this point). Don't let Dr Sachar's picture perfect smile fool you! She's pretty manipulative. If you don't open wide and accept whatever she think's is appropriate at Sachar NYC she'll walk. I thought I met a professional at first but then realized that she's more interested in herself. Just simple questions can set her off. I asked Dr Sachar questions on credential verification and peer review, she immediately called and complained that doubted her integrity and made references to "trust," saying something along the lines of "You would have to trust me, and I would have to feel comfortable working with you." Then she said "I don't think you're a good fit..." This is after I was handed a treatment plan, which clearly expressed the possibility of endodontic treatment and thorough explanation of the procedure. I had to literally explain why I asked questions! Dr Sachar reluctantly agreed on a consultation for more info. As soon as I submitted the report from my endo, it was like she turned into a bat out of hell. The poor girl said that she assigns such matters to her colleagues and refused to schedule! What kind of a dentist would hand a patient a treatment plan, shake hands, and then walk away? Dr Sachar would actually recommend using ChatGPT at the bedside. ChatGPT brought up the Panchatantra Tales in dentistry, somehow! Maybe Sandeep thought I was looking for a special passage into a place full of Zr crowns. I was actually going to invite her to my favorite restaurant on w 56th. I duno how to explain it. Just got a cleaning here earlier today. I have never experienced such a motivated, experienced, positive, and caring staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being greeted by friends who haven't seen me for a while. Everyone was so excited that I was there. I was a first-time visitor so I filled out the paperwork which took less than two minutes. I was then immediately welcomed into the patient room and a super friendly and knowledgable dental hygienist named Amy clean my teeth. She was professional and attentive the whole time. She always made sure that I was ok and gave me a very useful post-cleaning instruction following the procedure. If I could give zero stars I would. I visited this office once, was told I had 7 cavities and needed all four of my wisdom teeth extracted despite them not giving me any issues ever. Turns out I didn't need any of the dental work I got done including a terribly done filling that left my teeth with a huge gap perfect for getting food/bacteria trapped. I've always been uneasy about going to the dentist, which was drilled home even deeper with my dental experience prior to going to Dr. Sachar's office. From the very first time I visited Dr. Sachar's for a cleaning and exam, my view of dentist's visits changed and my anxiety disappeared. It starts with the front desk staff, who are super accommodating about scheduling. Pooja is an absolute all-star. She greets you with a smile and is incredibly friendly. She's great at reminding you of upcoming appointments and working with you to reschedule when conflicts come up. I like this place so much that I was forgoing my insurance plan and paying out of pocket. When Pooja noticed this, she helped me find a way to change my insurance plan so I didn't need to pay out of pocket anymore. Also, it's not that she's a one-woman show... the other staff at the front desk have always been friendly and helpful as well, I just haven't dealt with them as often. All of the hygienists I've seen have been knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging about bettering my hygiene behavior. They talk about their own experiences getting into good hygiene habits between visits rather than acting holier than though when you admit you haven't been flossing regularly. They are easy to relate to and make a real effort to make you feel comfortable. The actual dentists also spend a good amount of time with you and make you feel like you matter to them. I have been there for regular cleanings, exams and x-rays. I would recommend this place to anyone, anytime. I have very mixed feelings about this place. The facility was fine but a little outdated definitely not modern. The doctor was nice and did a good job though she was not overly talkative and didn't tell me what she was doing while doing it. When I called on the phone they said a small chip in the front tooth would be around 200. The doctor herself commented on how small the chip was and I didn't really need to do anything unless it really bothered me. I had told them at the front I had the yelp promotion. When they came in to let me know about billing they said it was going to be 300 but then 200 minus the promotion. making it the original price quoted on the phone. They can say it required more work whatever they want to justify the upsell. but the doctor herself commented again numerous times on how small the Chip was. If you're going to give a yelp promotion then honor it don't charge me the same amount and then claim it's more. and I had to pay for the yelp promotion itself. I was looking for a deal obviously. I have been going to Sachar Dental for several years now, so this is not a review based on an initial impression or a one-off service. During each time I have had an appointment, I was greeted with a smile by individuals who welcomed me and made me at ease before the work started. I have never waited more than 5 min for my appointment and any and all needed work was properly explained to me. If I needed any future work, they provided me with my options with absolutely no pressure. Also, any nsurance questions were always properly addressed before my appointment so there was never a need for a lengthy discussion on insurance coverage during my appointment. The fact that I can be in and out for a cleaning in about 30 minutes is also very much appreciated given my busy schedule; their location is also easy to get to from anywhere in Manhattan. I have no hesitation in recommending Sachar Dental; it's a great practice that focuses on getting things done right and aims for perfect client service. Since I was a kid I dreaded going to the dentist. Not anymore. Dr.Sachar and her colleagues are wonderful at what they do and are sensitive to their patient's needs as well. It doesn't stop at the dental work. The doctor's office staff is incredible. Case in point; I was quite sick last spring and a friend of mine who also visits the doctor mentioned it in passing to Pooja, the lovely receptionist who makes appointments for the doctors. I finally decided they were a reputable office and solidified my decision after speaking with the receptionist over the phone. They got me in same day, treated me with the utmost urgency, kindness, and care. They worked with me on the pricing (I also purchased a yelp deal - $75 for $100 worth of treatment) and I not only got my tooth fixed, I also received a comprehensive set of X-rays. I have two cavities and I will most certainly be going back to Dr. Sachar's office to have them filled! Came here on a Living Social Deal. The Dental Hygenist was awesome. I think her name was Anna. She took her time, was very thorough, but most off all was not overly forceful. It was a dental cleaning with barely any pain, a friendly smile and very modern looking equipment. I saw Dr. Akhavan for the exam. She was very nice and had a good bedside mannor. Not very talkative but answered every question I had. She gave me a clean bill of dental health (no cavities woohoo!) so I guess there wasn't too much to talk about anyway. Came to Dr Sachar's office for my cleaning and exam last week. I was impressed by how afficient this place runs. As soon as I walked through the door, I was met by a smiling girl at the reception. Her name is Keisha and she is super friendly. She got me started with paperwork right away and five minutes later, after I filled out the forms, my hygienist Amy took me into her room for x-rays. Amy was super friendly too. She kindly explained to me the order of precedures and I immediately felt at ease. The cleaning Amy did was awesome! She didn't miss any single spot. The cleaning took 30 minutes and it was very thorough and absolutely painless. After the cleaning Dr Wong came in for a check up. She evaluated my x-rays, checked my teeth and patiently answered all my questions. Fortnunately, I didn't have any cavities, but I am sure if I did, Dr Wong would be a great dentist to take care of them.
