Expensive but very nice clothes. Suits/shirts/ties etc. Will also do custom orders for you. Good service and good prices.

It's the idea that China produced clothing is somehow both inferior and cheap in quality which is far from being true. With everything there's good and bad. I'm visiting Santa Fe for the first time and wanted to poke around the shops on the main plaza…read more Most of these stores are overly touristy with questionable quality turquoise and over-the-top hippy garb that hippies and hipsters would never be caught wearing. However, that is not my biggest concern. What I set out to do was to find an alpaca (or at least a rather soft) blanket, and what I experienced going from store to store was rather discriminatory. I am a 21-year-old woman who could not get the attention of a sales person to save my life (and these stores were almost completely empty). While I was in Dragonfly, the sales woman (approx. 50) was attending to another customer who was trying on a skirt. When the sales woman saw me heading towards the blankets, after I had been puttering around the store for a couple of minutes without so much as a "hello," her comment to me was "Hi. Oh those are each $40. Is that going to work for you?" she said as she took the blanket away from my hands. I'm 21. I'm 5'10". I'm wearing a black French Connection sweater with jean shorts, and sporting Ray-Bans on top of my head. Not to sound materialistic, but I did not just come off the streets to rub my grubby hands all over your nice blankets. I am looking to buy one. So treat me like a customer, dammit! The condescension continued throughout the exchange, and though I should have just left and called her out on her age-discrimination, I really wanted the blanket. HOWEVER, THE PARTY DOES NOT STOP THERE! I experienced this similar age-profiling in Keshi, a zuni fetish store down on Don Gaspar street, where I had to hunt down a sales woman and ask her to sell me the fetish I had chosen. This experience somewhat paled in comparison to the Dragonfly store. It was absolutely ridiculous how condescending that woman was because I was young. Hate to break to y'all touring in Santa Fe, but this is profiling is common throughout the entire plaza area, and likewise if you are a middle-aged woman with a purse, sales people will target you aggressively, whether it be through your own shopping weaknesses or your kids.

Everything was there but the inventory of a successful store. They did have some deals on clothes, but mostly it seemed like a lot empty shelves and most of the hardware was off brand stuff I never heard of, marked up to premium prices. It was as if Cabela's and Harbor Freight went on a date, got tipsy on box wine and woke up in the morning with this love child to deal with. A bit of dna from both parents but none of it from the deep end of the pool. Speaking of which, mom and dad must be ashamed of their child, as just getting in to The Big R was difficult. The parking lot entrance wasn't directly in front of the store, and at night it was difficult to navigate the parking lot. Also I get that Santa Fe has serious restrictions on lighting at night, but the parking lot just screamed "Please stand by, your mugger will be with you shortly." No wonder the place was deserted.

I went into the Santa Anna Big R (near Bernallio) to buy a special dog food. The Wholesome foods sensitive stomach is the best food for my Great Dane & German Shepard. Only one the Shepard can keep down. I was truly excited to see Big R carries it & it was on sale, at a great price. I went into store as they opened hopefully to buy the dog food only to find they didn't have it. Here is where the Santa Fe BIG R stepped up to make our day. I spoke with manager "Nathan" who told me he had 5 bags & would transfer them to the store near me in Bernallio. He could have them there this afternoon for me to pickup tomorrow morning. Saving me a trip to Santa Fe, stocking me up for weeks to come, & allowing me to get the bags at the sale price. Nathan's customer service is the reason I will continue to shop Big R.

That's the main reason we knocked a star off. It was mostly organized, but there were some shoes misplaced. We picked up a few pairs for my growing grade schoolers. Also, I was sold on the BOGO Adidas sock promo because they were thick and ankle-cut. Highly recommend that you join their "Famously You Rewards" program especially if you have a family. It's free. Members currently are offered "$5 reward cash for every 100 points" plus they get free shipping with no minimum purchase. They didn't check the box to make sure the pair matched. I had already worn the shoes as I went out of town and had no other shoes to wear. They were subtle differences, so from afar it was hard to tell. the big difference was that one shoes was lined and the other wasn't. I called earlier this week to inform them of this mistake. Whoever answered the phone told me I could be given a significant discount for BOTH pairs of shoes since I already worn them. The manager insinuated I wanted them for free when I clearly said I was offered a DISCOUNT FOR BOTH PAIRS. she said she'd give me $2 discount for these $140 shoes ($140 each pair). Not only did they not keep their word for their screw up, she charged me the difference for the lined shoes I originally wanted. I asked if they were going to sell the other pair I already wore and she said yes. So, be aware if you're going to purchase a pair of Doc Martens - Embury size 7 as one shoe has already been worn and she's trying to sell them again. I walked a significant amount in them so I don't think it's fair to pay full price for them. I wish I would've looked online for them because I am seeing they under $100 for the same pair on the Official Doc Martens website. I would never ask for a handout but considering their mistake and me expecting them not to sell a used pair of shoes at full price, I thought a discount was more than fair. $2 was insulting and she laughed in my face when she offered it. I used to love famous footwear but this experience completely ruined the store for me.
