But they charge you an extra $50 for that--and you can't opt out of it, because they "no longer offer" the traditional exam. But that's just the beginning. Then they label your contact lens or glasses exam a "premium" exam, based on absolutely no actual standards, so that your insurance (for which they are supposedly in network) doesn't cover it. So instead of being out of pocket a $35 copay, you end up charged $138. The best part is when they tell you that your insurance companies "told us" to charge you that. I just got off the phone with mine and they were appalled by the pricing practice.

There's gave me such bad headaches I actually felt nauseated all day wearing them. Forward thru covid to 2021. My husband went to Zaleski Optical. They were nice, professional & they started FROM THE BEGINNING with his exam. He loved them. I went a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING from the walk thru the door. Tammy is AWESOME, friendly, helpful, honest! The Dr. Started from the beginning with me as well. Guess what? DID NOT need bifocals. Nothing wrong with my eyes out of the normal. Have 20/20, need distance glasses AND was able to get my long wear contacts and he even told me if I need a booster with them, just go get a +25 pair of readers from a store! Their prices are GREAT TOO. I did NOT feel robbed after I left there. These ppl really care about your vision & take the time to explain everything to you from start to finish. Outstanding Customer Service…read more I have been a customer of the Pearl Vision Sparta and Rockaway locations since 2020 and have worn Silhouette eyeglasses for over 25 years. My last three purchases have been through Pearl Vision. With my first two purchases, everything was perfect--no issues at all. Unfortunately, my most recent purchase in November 2024 did not go as smoothly. Due to what I believe is a defective frame, I had to return the glasses for repair three times. However, this was absolutely no fault of Pearl Vision. Each time I visited both locations, the staff members were nothing short of spectacular. They never once suggested the issue was my fault. In fact, they did quite the opposite--they took full responsibility for what appeared to be a flaw in the frame or lenses and handled the situation professionally and promptly. I have never needed glasses before and this was my first exam in over 10 years. They were patient with me and explained all the equipment. They were funny at time and the doctor, herself, was extremely knowledgable. By the time I left I felt like part of the Dr Patel & Pearl Vision Family. My husband who needs glasses every year was blow away by the professionalism, knowledge, insight and respect he was shown. The glasses reps on the Pearl Vision side, Rick & Cliff are fabulous.
