They told us it's gonna take 40 mins for our food even if we only ordered a small pizza. We waited for it for almost two hrs, turned out they cancelled our order for no reason. We were visiting Temecula for the first time. We are red wine drinkers and wanted to go to to vineyards ' off the beaten track' and less crowded. We went to Robert Renzoni Vineyards at lunch time because of the reviews we read and the recommendation from out pourer, Kendal, at Wiens ( which has delicious red wines and doesn't serve food) We love the location of Renzoni's. We sat out on the patio overlooking horse stables and farm.... beautiful and serene setting. We relaxed and enjoyed a glass of Big red, which was delicious. We were planning on having pizza but decided to share a meatball, soprosetto sandwich. Delicious! FYI the pizzas looked tasty as well. What a comfortable , relaxing location. We highly recommend and will be back for the wine, food, view, and location. read more

Raquel was awesome at our wine tasting, more like FASTING. However, Our party of 5 came the day after rain and the picnic area was not accessible due to mud. We were celebrating a special birthday and we were not allowed to have our picnic lunch that we brought in the trattoria area. The manager told us to put our food away even though we bought a bottle of their wine and were trying to enjoy it. It's really sad that they could not make an exception after we were paying customers and made a special trip to come visit this winery. read more

Traveled to the winery for a second time. However this time the new building and restaurant is up. The new building is nice, however I enjoyed the tasting in the barrel room so much more. Tasting fee was $20 for 5 tastings. Pretty ridiculous and I was quite dissappointed by the wines I tasted. I give the customer service a 1 star. Our cash register gal was incredibly rude and then our tasting gal was hitting on my bf in front of me and his mother, which made the experience terrible. Last time I checked it doesn't take an hour + to deliver that type of food to a table. Visited there several time before, but badly impressed today. As of today's heavy rain, we can't stay as long as like usually till the lunch. People inside the tasting room not happy might because we just drive by instead of any consumption today. A young guy , looks not friendly , locked the gate that we can walk to the parking lot with short cut when we ready to leave, We have to walked all way around their yard to get to the parking lot , definitely we all got wet in such a shower. Because there are port-a-potties for restrooms and the tasting room is a temporary location while they build their permanent venue, I was tempted to give it four stars because, obviously, those improvements will only make it better. That said: this was my favorite winery on our tour. I left with a bottle of the un-oaked chardonnay ($18) as a gift and a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon (which was GREAT - $32) for myself. I haven't even cracked the bottle yet and I'm already wishing I had bought more than one!! Really: The wines were excellent. The hospitality was the best we experienced. The tasting room had retail offerings (aprons and grandma's secret recipe marinara) but didn't have the heavy-duty commercial feel some of the other spots had; in fact, the rustic feeling made possible by the temporary digs may have enhanced the experience. And, Robert was in the house and signed our bottles... So, really, even knowing that it's going to "get better" this place is STILL five stars!! I actually may still join the wine club because: a.) it's the ONLY way to get Renzoni wines outside of another road trip to Temecula. b.) members get a 25% break on pricing which could off-set the shipping costs. c.) While on one of my many excursions to the ever holy Temecula Wine County, my friends and I visited Renzoni Vineyards. Currently, an elegant Spanish Villa is in the process of being constructed on the premises. But wine enthusiasts can enjoy the libations in their temporary tasting structure. The main room is bedecked with ornate tapestries (all for sale) and wine barrels soar to the ceiling. Our wine server, Eletania, was informative and very sweet. Here's what I tried: 2006 Concerto - An exquisite combination of three reds, with savory hints of clove and oak. Very, very good. 2006 Fiore di Fano - I was not in awe of this one; had a slight smoky aroma. Wouldn't try it again. 2006 Cabernet - Highly superior, and by far my favorite here. The hints of vanilla, fig and currant distinctly stand out amongst its velvety texture. 2007 Bellisimo - Quite sweet, with a honey color and taste. 2007 La Rosa - A rose' wine, the strawberry is highly prevalent, but its not too sugary, more mellow. 2007 Moscatto - Its bouquet is that of caramel apples. Would love to have a bottle of this on a hot summer day. We also had the opportunity to meet Robert Renzoni, the owner, who was quite personable and a wealth of knowledge. The Renzoni family has been in the wine business since 1886. One major perk is that their tasting room doesn't close until 6:00, whereas most shut down their barrels at 5:00. The one flaw I noticed were the bathrooms, or lack thereof. Port-a-potties are provided, however, during construction. Their wine club also seems to be a really good deal. I look forward to visiting this winery often. read more

Would give them 0 stars if it were an option... we had a terrible experience and with so many wineries in Temecula there is no need to deal with poor ones. Customer service was TERRIBLE. We had planned to come for my birthday with a big group and thought their picnic grounds would be perfect for what we were trying to do with our group since they allow you to buy bottles and bring your own picnic. We called a week in advance to let them know that we were coming although they do not take reservations. No idea how they "heard" that someone in our group was too intoxicated but we walked directly off of the bus to the front entrance where we were told that we would not be served. No idea how they drew this conclusion as there were only a handful of us off the bus at this point. We did have one member of our group was who going to stay behind and sleep on the bus but that really didn't affect them. They had a "bouncer" -- what winery has a bouncer?! -- tell us that we could not speak with anyone else besides him about the fact that they were not going to allow us to spend the afternoon there and felt no need to go into detail on what gave them the idea that someone was too intoxicated. The photos of the property was also a bit deceiving. After seeing pictures online I was surprised when we pulled up to a dusty farm house. I'm from Napa so I expect the best when I am wine tasting so maybe I have just expected too much from Temecula wineries but 20+ others would (and I assuming will shortly via Yelp!) agree with me that Robert Renzoni is a winery to avoid. read more

I am absolutely in love with both Robert Renzoni Vineyards AND Robert Renzoni! What a great experience I had here! This was the last stop of the day, but I was only mildly buzzed so I will not credit my love for this vineyard on the hooch. What I enjoyed most about this vineyard is that Robert was actually walking around working while we tasted. He poured one of my tastes for me while my pourer was assisting another customer, and he even signed each of the four bottles I purchased! I love the customer service! The staff also passed out samples of Robert's grandmothers secret pasta sauce that they recently started bottling and selling. I thought it was amazing, so I grabbed a jar so that I could enjoy some marinara with my new wines! I went to six different vineyards during my trip and had one that I enjoyed at each location; however, I found five different wines I absolutely loved at Renzoni! My favorite of the day was the 07 Moscato. I bought two bottles because I just couldn't get enough. I also loved the stainless steel barrel Chard and the pinot grigio enough to grab one of each. They have only been open about a year, so the tasting room isn't as developed as it could be, but I really enjoyed the stationed setup they had, the AMAZING customer service from both the staff and Robert, the taste of the wine and the vineyard overall. I will be back if not solely for this vineyard! (or to catch another peak of the very attractive Mr. Renzoni!!) read more

Now that the villa is open for business, and Mama Rosa's can serve you lunch, I'd dare say that Robert Renzoni is a must visit. Mama Rosa's offers sandwiches and pizzas, every day from Noon to 5 (maybe 4 on weekdays) and they're delicious. If you don't already know about Mama Rosa's deliciosa marinara, you should. We buy a jar virtually every time we're in Temecula, and fully agree it's time to "Legalize Marinara." The pizza is big enough for two to share, order at the outside bar and they'll bring you everything. You can also purchase wine by the bottle or glass, or a pint of beer (two taps) from that bar. Service, as usual, is friendly and knowledgeable. My love for you may never cease. read more

This winery is my favorite of all the wineries in Temecula. The food is amazing...I recommend the artichokes, bruschetta, sandwiches and pizza. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also in the tasting room the employees are very generous and tend to pour more then what you would expect. I joined the wine club and there is a separate section for outdoor eating so you are almost pretty much guaranteed a place to sit, eat and listen to the live music...and to top things off the wine is actually really good. I am not a white wine fan but love their prosecco. This winery is also on one of the back roads so the view is spectacular! read more

Was not a fan of the tasting experience here. None of the wines we tasted really appealed to me and the tasting "room" was really just plastic tables with table cloths. The woman who helped us was not very friendly and didn't really talk to us at all to suggest any wines. The worst part was the plastic porta potties outside...they were disgusting! I guess this is a smaller winery but they should definitely invest in some bathrooms for their clientele. We were drinking a lot of water with our wine to keep ourselves from getting too buzzed so we had to go to the restroom at each stop. read more

I came here for a girls wine tasting outing with my daughter and mother in law. It was a first visit for both my mother in law and daughter and is one of my favorite wineries. I took them to several wineries to give them a flavor of Temecula wine country. Both agreed this winery is their favorite out of the 4 we visited. They really liked the feel and the atmosphere of the winery and on the weekends they have great "live" music. It was a great combo with the wine, food and music. We were fortunate to get a table on the patio because weekends can get very busy. The wine is one of the best too! Would definitely recommend this winery to everyone. If you only have a day in wine country you should make sure to include Renzoni's as one of your stops. read more

Went to check this place out yesterday- we pulled up and knew it was a place not for us. As you walk up the place looks like a garage - they have the door to the winery (and I use that term loosely - the place looked like a big garden shed) 3/4 of the way up I felt like I was entering a garage - all their merchandising was blocking the way at the entrance. Walked around the merchandising and looked at the bar area - it was packed - noisy and a place I opt not to spend my cash. We walked away so I cannot even tell you how the wine was. We had lunch at ronzoni's today, we are members of the wine club at the winery. I have to tell you the food was absolutely outstanding particularly the sandwiches and the pizza. But I want to give special recommendations to two of their servers audria and Hannah. I am a member of several wineries and I must tell you the greatest weakness in the wine country is the lack of people that have customer service skills. Both these women have tremendous skills and have made our visits there so memorable. I was in marketing for almost 40 years with general electric company and I know the value of great customer service something that is lacking totally in the wine country. Some hit the ok mark; but those were priced at over $40 a bottle! Guys, it's spelled: "T-e-m-e-c-u-l-a", NOT "N-a-p-a" or "P-a-s-o". Service was friendly enough, but seemed a bit inconvenienced by us even being there. This was the last of 3 stops for us while touring in Temecula valley. The views were sweeping here, and the parking area was large enough for the huge number of cars, buses and tour vehicles that were there, much easier to get into than some of the other area wineries. Alas, those were really the highlights. The tasting room is huge and very modern, we were directed to purchase tastings from a cashier by the bartender which we did, the price was reasonable. When we finally got to the bar however it was packed end to end with only two or three bar tenders (and I purposely use bar tender), they were so busy they didn't have a chance to talk about the wines, or to help select any wines. It almost came off as rude as busy as they were. We were relatively unimpressed with the wines, they were all fine, but nothing was a must try or something we walked out raving about. I'd probably be willing to stop back and have a glass of wine to enjoy the view, but the wait and staff was a deterrent. There were certainly other places we stopped where we were treated better. read more

We frequent this winery, and really enjoy the atmosphere, wine and food. My husband loves their sandwiches, and he is known as "the sandwich guy" amongst family and friends. I love the pizzas and appetizers. There are also some really quality wines. We are big fans of the Lyric Rose, Pinot Grigio, Tempranillo, and Cab Franc. Their service can be a bit slow. Often times, we've stood belly up waiting for a glass of wine or tasting for several minutes without any acknowledgement and they're not even busy, but once acknowledged, the staff is pretty friendly. read more

Such an amazing experience! We visited the Renzoni Vineyards as part of our Grapeline Tour and I am so glad we did. Like others, Robert himself poured our wines and gave us the full family history and story on how his vineyard came to be. It was a wonderful personal touch that only added to the quality of his wines. We celebrated our friend's 30th birthday bash while touring a few vineyards this past weekend, and Robert Renzoni was our first stop in our wine-soaked adventure. The space is huge and open, with lots of fun gifties to peruse. We saddled up to Danae's side of the bar and got to sipping. First off, she was great! Super knowledgeable about all their products (which we found out was NOT the case at some other wineries...seriously!?), and fun to talk to. As we were walking in, our driver told us their Sangiovese was one of her all-time favorites, and she did NOT let us down on this recommendation. It was PERFECTION. I'm glad this was our first stop, because as we were winding up our tastes, the place was getting crowded and LOUD. I guess they can't help how popular they are, given how great everything is. The only thing I regret is that it was a chilly, rainy day. If not, I would have demanded our gals all buy a full glass and sit out on their patio with an amazing view. And of course, I'd be remiss to not mention the homemade marinara tastes they give you to snack on with breadsticks in-between your tastes. YUM! This was my second visit to this winery and was quite impressed with their new wine tasting room, however I was not impressed with how loud it was in the wine tasting room. Unfortunately due to the rainy weather we were not able to sit outside so we opted not to taste here this visit. I did make sure to purchase a jar of their home made marinara sauce as it is fantastic! I highly recommend purchasing if you are in the area. Definitely worth it! We will visit again and hopefully we will be able to enjoy their wines, which if I recall from the last visit were very good. read more

My FAVORITE winery from our Temecula tour. My cousin kept insisting that we come here, and I was really worried we'd run out of time (we got here at 515, all the other wineries closed at 5). She kept saying we needed to try the marinara sauce, which I thought was weird (who goes to a winery for marinara sauce?). We ended up getting a tasting, and I must say--amazing! I loved the wines and the marinara sauce--scrumptious! They give you a little sample cup and a couple of breadsticks to dip. Yum yum! And its just what you need to help sober up. My favorite wine here--their port. OMG its so yummy and they give you a little chocolate truffle to eat with it. It really brings out the amazing flavors in the wine. The pourers are so nice and friendly as well. Loved it and it was a perfect last stop to our tour. read more

I have been to Robert Renzoni several times and have a close friends that is a member there. Here are my thoughts about this place: Pros: - The red wine is very nice here. Some of the better ones in the area for sure. - Their prices are very resonable. - Look around online and you should be able to get a 2 for 1 wine tasting discount or coupon. - Staff has been pretty friendly. - The logo glass that is included in the standard tasting (not the 2 for 1) is very nice. I believe it's heavy German crystal. - Open till 6:00pm. Cons: - The facility is very minimal. Porta Potty restrooms and very little as far as getting a glass and relaxing somewhere. It's basically a garage. - All dirt road and parking lot. Nothing is paved. - The wine club is yourself plus 1. While not the stingiest in the valley, it's nothing to write home about. I've been living near Temecula wine country for a little over two years, and have had the opportunity to try most of the wineries in the Temecula valley. Renzoni has good red wines that are offered in a very minimal setting. If you are a red wine drinker and can overlook the facility, you probably will have a good experience here.
