I am writing to formally express my profound dissatisfaction with the grooming services and level…read moreof professionalism I experienced at the Petco grooming salon in Hartsdale, NY on May 28th. Upon arriving with my miniature poodle, Zoe, the groomer met with me to review the grooming instructions. I clearly explained that Zoe previously had a teddy bear cut completed at another Petco location and that I simply wanted that same style maintained as it had grown out. I specifically emphasized that the top of her head should remain rounded and not be cut too short. The groomer repeated my instructions back to me, confirming that she understood my requests. When I returned to pick up Zoe, I was unexpectedly asked to provide payment before being permitted to see my dog, which was unusual and concerning. I requested to see Zoe first. Once she was brought out, I was shocked and deeply upset by her appearance. Her coat had been shaved extremely short, her face was unevenly groomed, and the overall result appeared highly unprofessional. There was no justification for such an extreme cut. Zoe is well cared for and brushed and combed daily. Her coat was not matted and did not require such drastic grooming. In addition to the haircut being entirely inconsistent with my instructions, her coat was noticeably uneven, and a significant patch of hair was missing from her left ear. When I calmly raised my concerns with the manager, his response was immediately defensive, confrontational, and unprofessional. Rather than listening to my concerns or attempting to resolve the matter appropriately, he repeatedly insisted that I had requested this haircut. When I reiterated that I had specifically requested a teddy bear cut, he continued to claim that this was the style Zoe had received. The interaction became increasingly unproductive, as the manager repeatedly interrupted me and refused to engage in a constructive discussion. I requested to speak with the manager, only to be informed that he himself was the manager. I then requested the corporate contact information. While waiting for the manager to return with the corporate number, I observed another dog being groomed nearby that appeared to have received the same style of haircut as Zoe. I pointed out the similarity, and the manager stated that the other owner had requested a "low cut." I noted that this "low cut" appeared identical to what he had previously claimed was my requested "teddy bear cut," which directly contradicted his earlier statements. I also addressed the uneven patches throughout Zoe's coat. At that point, the manager abruptly grabbed my dog's front leg and lifted it upward while attempting to demonstrate something to me. I immediately instructed him to stop handling my dog in that manner and expressed my concern regarding the aggressive and inappropriate handling, particularly given the potential risk of injury. To further compound the situation, I was informed that my dog would no longer be permitted to receive grooming services at that location. I responded that I had no intention of returning and would instead continue taking Zoe to the Yonkers location. The manager then loudly stated across the room that I could do so, but that they had "fired everyone from the Yonkers location anyway." This entire experience was unacceptable from beginning to end. Not only was the grooming service itself substandard, but the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, compassion, and appropriate handling of my pet was deeply troubling. I sincerely hope this complaint helps prevent other pet owners from experiencing similar treatment.

Hubby and I found this place last year while I was still preggers. We were able to bring both our…read moredogs and wash them ourselves. Although it was convenient, it definitely was not easy (my dogs are cray) and I'd rather just pay someone to clean my dogs for me. They do have everything you need, though. The tubs are high and they give you instruction on how to use the soap and water and blowers. They provide you with aprons and as many towels as you need but again, we have Shibas and when they're shedding, it can be horrendous. Which brings me to about a month ago when I was searching for a groomer that could really make a dent in their shedding issues. Shibas don't really shed badly throughout the year but when spring and winter come, they have what can only be described as fursplosions, where they shed their undercoats and the fur comes off of them in tufts. It's crazy. Their butts look like shapely little Corgy butts, the Kardashians of the dog world. I requested a quote through the Yelp app and Dana got back to me super fast. I ended up making appointments for the next day. They offer the Furminator treatment for an extra $10 and it's worth every penny. We've gotten our dogs back from other groomers and you can still see tons and tons of fur coming off but this is probably the first and only time we've gotten our dogs back home and after petting them a few hundred times, not one hair fell to the ground. They got ALL the shed fur, ya'll! That like, NEVER happens! The cost is reasonable, about $45 per dog which is a little bit more that what we've paid elsewhere but I don't mind paying if they're getting out every single shed fur that exists. We don't have to bring them often so I am definitely going to use them again.

I have used this facility 3-4 times over the past two years and overall I would say that I really…read morelike the concept- a pet wash business that allows customers to wash their pets at a low cost. Interesting that every time I go the price increases but the facility is showing signs of ear and tear. The tiles in the tub are falling off in several spots. Abundant towels are not provided and there are no temperature controls on the water values. The cost the past three times has gone from $14 to $18 to now over $20. There is still customer value in this business but my advice is to instill consistent pricing, fix anything that breaks, and put the towels out...
