I went here with high expectations and BOY was i disappointed!!!! Food was at BEST okay but service was absolutely TERRIBLE!!!!!! The waitress barely interacted with us, was angry when we requested syrup and threw our check at us without letting us know that we had to pay at the front. We then proceeded to sit looking around aimlessly waiting for our waiter until we asked another staff member and she told us that we had to pay at the front. The cherry on top was the bathroom was dirty and they asked us out loud "do you want to leave a tip" like no. Do not go here unless you want the worst service possible! read more

Plenty of parking, easy exit off the highway. Ample and clean seating space. Be prepared, this place is almost always hopping but with that said, service is quick here. Also a good heads up, the menu is extensive! Went on a Friday early afternoon. We got coffees, eggs, hash browns and a Ruben with fries. Both the food and service were great. Only heads-up that maybe because the afternoon cliental skews a bit older, they do go very easy on the salt on almost everything especially anything involving potatoes. Both the hash browns and fries were not salted/seasoned but with a pinch of salt, tasted great! Will visit again as I saw a couple of items that I would love to try. read more

On our way out of Minnesota, my husband and I went to the Keys Cafe-Woodbury to get some breakfast. This diner has a classic Americana feel to it. You walk past three Charlie Brown character statues before entering the restaurant and bakery. The statues are a fun photo opportunity. I had the Belgian waffle and my husband had the cinnamon French toast with apples. The food was good but not great. The four dollars that was charged for coffee I thought was a little expensive. I was totally grossed out when our server took a cup of water from a table that had left and filled my cup with it. This totally ruined the experience for me. Because of this I cannot recommend Keys Cafe-Woodbury! read more

Keys cafe is a staple for breakfast in Woodbury. The parking lot is huge so there should never a problem finding a spot. As soon as we walked in we were immediately grated and seated. It was pretty packed in there so we were happy to get a corner spot that didn't feel so congested. Our server was decently friendly. She kinda seemed rushed but that's to be excepted during busy breakfast hours. I order a cheese burger w/ fries and a side salad. The side salad hit the spot. The burger on the other hand could use some work. The bun was way too thick and a little hard. Half way through eating it I just ate the beef patty plain. The meat itself was pretty good. Fries were pretty basic but good. Over all this place it's obviously a classic for the city. Would return and try some different items. read more

Love the service and the food here. The staff are always attentive and friendly. The food comes out pretty quick and hot. I love their menu, there's an array of options to pick from. The only complaint I have is how busy it is, there's almost always a wait. But that's a given due to the only breakfast place in this area. Me a long time, friend this morning for breakfast at this location. I've been here before, but today was a little different. It was busy and there was a line of about seven people. My buddy was just being seated, so I quickly joined him. We sat at the counter today And caught up on all times. Our server Jenn, brought us waters and gave us a minute to scan the menu before placing her order. We both had the #1, which was scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and sourdough toast. All for for $14. I've eaten out a lot over the years, but today was one of the best breakfast I ever had. The portion size seem to fit the overall price and I fit my value was spot on the money. It was a memory of good food so we stopped. Waited on pretty quick and I ordered Liver and Onions dinner with steamed broccoli , skip the potatoes, side salad blue cheese, Diet Pepsi. My daughter a large salad. We got our drinks right away but the meal took awhile. The liver came out with green beans not broccoli so server said she would get it. In the meantime I started to eat but liver full of gristle and cooked too long, onions still raw so when the server came back I said, " This is terrible I don't want it". Without a blink she said " Didn't this just happen a few days ago?" "I'm like WHAT? We were not here. " My daughter got angry but said nothing. Did I just get reprimanded by the server? She grabbed the plate snd took off- no apology or offer to get me something else. She was gone a while.. finally returned with menu saying I'm sorry can I get you something else? I said you seemed upset with me. She said I had a lot of tables and needed to take an order- I'm sorry. I ordered vegetable soup as second choice . She brought Wild rice- I said sorry wrong soup I ordered Vegetable- she says I'm sorry I'll be right back. Soup arrives and wrong vegetables , excess bread with my liver still on the table. No return to clear dishes, no offer of dessert? No check. So I walk to register and ask for my bill. Waitress sees us and brings the check and I asked " Did you take the liver off?" Yes. My take on today I was accused of having complained two days earlier of not liking liver BUT we were not there. I was not treated well and insulted and ignored until server had time. No manager ever came to the table. Bad experience and rude server means no tip. It will be a minute before we risk Keys again. read more

This morning around 11:20 to 11:30 AM I stopped at Keys Cafe & Bakery in Woodbury to get some food to go. By the time I got inside, I started not feeling well. I walked up to the counter seating where there was a menu. I said to the girl behind the counter I'd like to get something to go. Is it OK if I sit down while I look at the menu. She said no this is for counter customers. To go is over there and she pointed toward the cash register. I said well I just out of dialysis and I'm really not feeling well. She looked at me like how can you make such an outrageous request, turned around and went back to what she was doing. I walked over to the other counter, picked up the menu and could tell my blood pressure was dropping even more. I walked out and left. I have been a customer to this restaurant for over 12 years. After today, I will never step foot in a Keys Café and Bakery again, let alone the one in Woodbury. Zero empathy, zero compassion. read more

Came to town and had to visit Keys Cafe again. Small world, because Desmond was our server, and he was terrific. We had him as our server three years ago and he still loves his job. That's obvious. Can't really go wrong with a classic like Keys Cafe. The place is definitely busy on a weekend morning so be prepared to wait for a table and of course since it's so busy, it'll be a bit noisy-not annoyingly so but it's not a quiet spot (perfect for families with small kids). All staff we encountered were pleasant. Food was mid but hits the spot when you're looking for comfort. If you're too full for dessert, grab a slice of sour cream rhubarb cake to go. The sell day old treats at a discount at the register if you're looking to try something else. read more

Always have a wonderful time eating at Key's. The service we receive from Desmond is always exceptional. He anticipates are needs and knows when to see if we need something. The food portion is huge and taste delicious! You can easily share a dish and be full. Got the Keys everything omelet and it was as big as the plate! Shared it with someone and I still had leftovers to take home. The caramel roll was on the drier side but the taste was there. Biscuits and gravy had the perfect portion, normally places I go to never have enough gravy. The hash brown tasted more bland as if it was soaked in water. This place is always busy but the time I went I only had to wait for about 5-10 minutes for a table of 4. Service is on the slower side so please be patient. You do have to pay for you tab at the front cashier area so expect to wait in line to checkout as well. As soon as you get seated you get the comfy family feeling with the design. read more

It's a local spot with a more simplistic menu. I ordered the #1 which was 2 eggs, choice of hash browns or American potatoes, and choice of toast. I did the American potatoes and white toast. The toast comes with this strawberry jam that they make in house and it is delicious! The American potatoes are more of a roasted potato with seasoning, they're good. They also have a bakery case but you either have to order it at the end or look at it before you get seated if you want it at your table. I would probably go back if I wanted a simple breakfast or a scone or baked good out of their case. We love Keys in every other city we've been to (Forest Lake, Saint Paul, White Bear Lake). This Keys in Woodbury is an absolute armpit. It's filthy dirty. While we were eating there were swarms of flying insects around us. We were batting them away during the entire meal. We had to box up our food to bring home as we couldn't eat in that environment. Service was ok and the food tasted good. However I started wondering how many of the bugs flying around were also in our food. We expressed our concern about the bugs to the cashier as we were leaving. He didn't apologize. He only asked what table we were at. Keys you can do better than this. Also annoying is the 3% Charge to pay with a credit card. Nope, I won't be back. Build the 3% into your business model. That "charge" is offensive. read more

After dropping my son off to have surgery this morning, I decided to go to key restaurant in Woodbury . years ago, I worked in the area, and they always had very good food. When I walked into the restaurant, I asked the hostess if I could be seated a little separate from everyone else for the fact that I might be on the phone to the surgery center. my hostess proceeded to walk me to an area that was what I asked for and literally through the menu on the table walked past me and I thanked her. There was no response and so I said it louder and I said thank you again and I got told yep . There was no greeting when I first walked into the restaurant and hearing yep i just got up and left. This is a casual diner experience a strip mall. Portions are massive and the variety of breakfast dishes, sandwiches and salads is BIG. They also offer an impressive assortment of cakes, pies, pastries and cookies. It is great for casual dining, but is in no way relaxing or formal. It is a louder location, as it is halfway opened to the interior walkway of the mini mall. Service is good, but I did notice a lack of gloves and sanitary equipment (hairnets, aprons, etc) on cooks. Also, the server who brought our food was picking up spilt food from the floor with her bare hands after bringing us our food without gloves...that was a red flag for me. Our silverware also came out looking dirty and cups had chips on the rims. Although I wanted to enjoy this casual diner experience, there were issues with sanitation and food safety that I could not overlook. read more

If you like to dine in a nice set up, remembering the old times of papa's and mama's restaurants but with a modern touch and plenty of bakes, pastries this is a place to stop by. Service is always a smile that welcomes anyone even a hungry, a hungry lumberjack. Because, be aware dishes are delicious but humongous. I did not try the one in Hudson, WI, but I suppose it is as good as this one. It is a family restaurant. Anyway, I recommend it. Until next time. Only one suggestion being a frequent traveler and Amateur Chef, that there should be a tiny pancake for kids for dessert. Only pancakes. We came here for lunch last Thursday and it was busy. We got a table in the back and waitress was good to put in order asap. Our hot turkey and roast beef sandwiches came out within minutes. My wife's sandwich had both white and dark meat and also stuffing and mashed potatoes. I had only the mashed potatoes as side. The meal was very filling and good. We agreed the roast beef was better. Also, there is fee-charge of 3.4% of you use credit card. I had cash so it worked out. Otherwise that is the only complaint if you don't want to pay additional 3.4%. read more

If that burger had its own yelp page o could also rate it 5/5 stars! The ambience of the cafe was marvelous. Denver breakfast sandwich, hot Turkey sandwich, any burger, meatloaf, Philly cheese steak, big ass omelettes just to name a few. On top of all that good stuff, there is a daily feature item and regular specials! They manage to pull off a diner feel in a strip mall. Which you might say well then why isn't it a 5 star review well it's the prices my god the prices. Went to have lunch with the wife no kids with us and the bill came $57 and we ordered no drinks except two cokes which were get this like $4.99 or som thing like that $4 something I remember and that is why we sadly won't be going here much anymore.
