My usual go-to place down the block (near McDonald's on 82nd) is temporarily closed and so I came here. The man behind the counter is definitely brusque; I am inferring he is Sammy the Owner. He first told me it would take 15 minutes to replace the battery and so I waited. A few minutes later, he came back and said he needed to have his "watchman" take a look at it. So I put down a non-refundable deposit and left. That was Monday. By the following Monday, I had not heard back and I was nervous because I would be departing NY. So I called and the same man (I recognized his voice) told me someone would be getting back to me. Within an hour or two, a woman phoned me and said I would need to come down and put a $20 deposit toward getting the watch fixed. She quoted me $100 for final cost. I ended up zelle-ing her the $20. She also told me the watch would be ready by Thursday. The woman was very nice. On Wednesday, the woman called and said my watch was ready. I went in to the store and paid the remaining balance--80 dollars. All in all, the whole cost-of-repair was $115. My watch works fine. I am not sure if this was a reasonable price and time for repair. It's crazy how the watch hardly breaks down in Bakersfield, CA, where the cost is significantly lower. Always in NY, sigh ...

For reasons I…read morecan't understand, I used to go all the way to FastFix kiosk in Garden State Plaza to get my watch batteries replaced... until today I thought about looking up a local vendor closer to where I live, and voila! found this jeweler in downtown Cliffside Park. First thing I noticed was just how polished and utterly spacious this shop was - something you just won't know passing by in a car. And I also noticed they carried a lot of high end products all set very nicely in their shop. A gentleman greeted me, quickly gave me a price to replace the watch, took it off me and went upstairs to work it. Took a bit less than 10 min and I was done. I asked earlier for polishing but for that he said I would have to leave it there and I wasn't planning on it at this time. If I had known such a shop was right under my nose, I should've gotten my wedding bands done here instead of in the mall. I would always support local and small businesses over chains and national retailers! I heartily recommend everyone getting fashionable jewelries high-end or even more casual, watches, polishing/repairs to go to D'Amore Jewelers. I definitely will be stopping by again to set my more expensive watch and get my rings polished here in the future.

I had a very bad experience with Aminov Jewelers and would NOT recommend them for anybody who's…read morelooking for quality work or a jeweler to trust. I don't even usually write reviews but this experience was unacceptable. I originally brought my ring in that they sold me after a diamond fell out and paid for that repair. During that process, they created a hole in the underside of the setting. When I returned because the diamond fell out again, I pointed out the issue and was told they would fix it properly by adding gold and restoring the structure. They did the second repair "for free," but later tried to use that against me as if it justified the poor quality of the work. Instead, the ring was returned with the hole still there even more noticeable, poorly patched and visibly unfinished. The underside looks crudely built up, uneven, and the gold looks burnt and overworked rather than properly restored. The setting is now weakened and the craftsmanship looks rushed and unprofessional. On top of that, the diamond they put back in was not even the same size as the original and appeared to be lower quality. It did not match the rest of the ring and was immediately noticeable. The same day I picked up the ring, I raised these concerns and was then asked to pay an additional $200 for another repair to fix the issue or get a new one. When I questioned this, the situation escalated in a completely unacceptable way. The staff became aggressive and tried to act intimidating rather than addressing the issue. I was yelled at, cursed at, threatened with having the police called on me, and even called a "piece of sh*t." I was then told not to return. I have since had another jeweler look at the ring and was informed that the setting now needs to be properly rebuilt due to how it was handled. Between being charged for the initial repair, receiving poor workmanship, being asked to pay more to fix their own mistake, and the way I was treated, I strongly recommend going elsewhere for any jewelry needs or repair if your looking for QAULITY work and not a shady jewelry shop in the Bronx.
