Disappointing and Unprofessional Customer Interaction I stopped at this Roberts gas station to purchase a soda and a snack--something I've done many times before, as I am a regular customer. Unfortunately, this visit was a very negative experience due to the behavior of the cashier. When I approached the counter, I greeted the cashier, but received no response. As I was paying with my card, she began giving rapid, commanding instructions while I was already in the process of using the terminal. This became confusing rather than helpful. I calmly told her, "I'm sorry, I can do this--you're just confusing me." After that, the interaction noticeably changed. The cashier became silent and visibly upset. When the payment terminal had issues and needed to be reset--a situation outside of my control--she appeared to blame me and became increasingly irritated. Once the transaction was completed, I asked politely, "Did I do something wrong?" Her response was completely unacceptable. She told me that I was rude, said she "didn't need this," and then told me to "get out." I want to be very clear: I did not raise my voice, insult her, or behave disrespectfully. I am an older customer, and the confusion came from being spoken to abruptly while already following the payment process. That does not justify being spoken to harshly or being told to leave the store. What was especially disappointing is that I frequent this location. The only difference this day was my appearance--I was unshaven and dressed casually. Whether that played a role or not, no customer should ever be treated this way. I expect better professionalism, courtesy, and respect from a business I regularly support. read more

Last week I bought six bottles of beer in Robert's Market Place and as I was walking out I dropped the package on the floor and they all broke. A young man began sweeping up the mess while I got another six bottles. At the register I handed the clerk my credit card when the manager came up and said, "No, here's your card back. You already paid for what you wanted and I want you to get it. We appreciate your shopping with us. Thank you." I left the store with far more than the six bottles I had wanted. Far far more. I just went into the location attached to the pizza place with my sister to buy two six packs of beer. I grabbed the beer and brought it up to the front for my sister to buy for my mom. The woman at the checkout asked both of us for our ID's and I didn't have my purse on me since I was just there to keep my sister company, so I couldn't show mine. The woman instantly (and dramatically) grabbed both six packs and started talking so loudly that she couldn't sell us the beer because it's against the law and she already asked both of us for our IDs she couldn't sell it to my sister because I touched the beer. ("Nope, nope! I can't sell it to you!") It was borderline making a scene. I'm 30 years old, and issue isn't that she could sell us the beer. The law is the law, but we have also been here and purchased alcohol SEVERAL times and have never experienced this. My issue is the way this woman decided to behave when I couldn't show her my ID. She was so RUDE, dramatic and aggressive, when she really didn't need to be. I was I shock and confused, and part of me was wondering if she was joking at first. I stood there for a solid few seconds with my mouth open processing what was happening. My sister even said the day prior she was there with our brother in law, a gentleman was in front of them buying tobacco and the lady checking him out asked if he was over 21 and sold him the tobacco with no ID. I don't know if the laws are different with tobacco products? Either way, the woman's behavior was COMPLETELY uncalled for. It was an honest mistake and I genuinely didn't know. EDIT: The woman we went to check us out was actually the manager, we didn't get her name. My sister called the location talk about our experience, and the lady 1) interrupted my sister while she was talking ("I'm going to have to stop you right there.") and blamed us and then 2) hung up on us but before she did my sister heard her say, "They hung up on me, that's cool." Just wanted to share my experience since apparently we won't be listened to from the staff directly. read more

I was there this morning and the man at the cash register was rude. I couldn't find prices on alot of things...so I did not get them. I asked for 3 packs of cigarettes. He had 2 in the brand I asked for and was trying to get his attention for a pack in a different brand. I got 2 packs! read more

Over the past six to eight months I've encountered a young lady behind the counter, with long black hair. In the 21 countries and 42 States that I've been in, this is probably one of the rudest individuals I've ever come across in customer service. Almost every time I go in now, it's a very accusatory statement. This morning it was, "I never see you fill up." I'm very offended by her body language and the way she treats me. This morning I turned around and said "Do you want to see the bus, I just put in 43.1 gallons, it's behind the market?" All she does to respond is waive her hands towards me and repeatedly say "go away go away." If you are going to an even here, get here early. The place is in DC and like everywhere in DC. there is never enough parking. It can also get a bit crowded. That said, it is a great place to hang out and get some food. It can be a a great way to spend your morning, afternoon or evening. read more

I have been going for years for my coffee almost everyday. there is a tall rude lady I always hear complaining about management and other employees almost every morning. I have heard her insult Asian customers calling them Mexican and then arguing about it with them. just sad how one person that work five days a week can stop someone spending $3.50 a day min. which is $24.50 a week which is $98.00 a month and for a year the tot loss for one employee is $1176.00 for the year. sorry Mr Robert I respect what you built, but this lady is a wreck. read more

Great selection of dry and frozen foods, alcohol selection is extensive too! Fresh fruits and vegetables available for last minute cooking needs. Always friendly staff and their pizza place restaurant is amazing! I feel safe going to this gas station right off the freeway! I'm usually running in the market for last min wine or beer or something random I'm missing from dinner. They have a decent selection of produce, wine, cold beer, pantry staples, dairy and eggs. Usually they have what I need quickly without having to drive into town. Prices are a little high as they aren't a major grocery store, but that's expected. read more

I call it "Robbers." For good reason. Outrageously high prices. Cannot WAIT until an actual grocery store is built close by, and this place becomes just a gas station. I have been coming to Roberts market for 15 years. I'm not sure how long the pizza place has been open but tonight is the third time I have ordered subs. Second time for pickup. I called at 6:18p.m. 2 12 inch philly subs and a 6 inch philly sub. I was told 20 minutes. I waited in the dirt lot until 6:40. Walked in paid 38.00 including tip. And then proceeded to wait inside until 7:01. 3 ladies working and no line. There were 2 people also waiting but otherwise nothing out of hand. For 40 dollars I shouldn't be waiting almost an hour. This is the second time this has happened. I want to order here. It is good food. But the wait time is absurd. Not sure if I will do this again. Sucks because it is good food. Wow, what a disappointment. I go by the exit everyday on my way to and from work. I called about 5 minutes away to see if they carried backwoods. I was put on hold and 5 minutes passed and I was still on hold so I exited. I asked a man behind the counter if they carried backwoods and he was unsure. A lady seemed to be training another lady and a fourth person was behind the counter with her back to me. After standing there and being ignored I said loudly do you carry backwoods, and the trainer said no. I let them know they could take my call off hold as I just finally got my question answered. I sure hope that trainee is soaking in all the great customer service training. read more

Zero stars if possible... THE WORST SERVICE EVER by a girl named Stephanie. Ordered a pizza, Lasagna and a pastrami sandwich, (which have always been my favorite here.) well, when i got my order, my sandwich was cold so i returned it and got a second one, When i got my sandwich the second time, it was halfway cooked. My sandwich had hot and cold meat in it. It was bad. When i returned it the second time the girl got an attitude with me, rolling her eyes and walking away while i was still talking. I don't usually complain, especially when I like the place, but today the service was awful and so was my sandwich. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told they didn't have one, that they manage themselves. I think she thinks she can be rude and act the way she did because she's the owners daughter? Been going here for 3 yrs now and seems to be getting more run down, food is a hit and miss, inside restaurant needs a good scrub down, young gal at food cashier very friendly which help offset the rest. I also fill my truck with gas, spend $100 you would expect you can wash your windshield (every water bucket dry) Gal at store cashier comment "two stock guys here don't know why they don't do it" I guess its above her pay grade to do something other then complain about the crew at the new store across the freeway to customers. So today its been 2weeks later I go to new store for gas and yes you guessed it the water buckets DRY, how hard can it be?? so I shut off pump at $9 and filled up at circle K on 69/Glassford and $129 later I got full water buckets!! I like supporting the small business like Roberts. I guess they don't mind a 3 star rating on reviews as long as the $$$ keep rolling in, only rating tolerated in my business is 5 stars no reason for anything less, unless you just don't care. We use this gas station/convenience store quite a bit as it is only a mile from our home. I've never had a "bad" experience here. My big issue is that the gas pumps never give receipts. They are always out of paper or the paper is feeding inside the pump or the screen will tell you to go inside for receipt. And then when I go in to ask for a receipt I get the side eye like I'm being a major pain in the ass. Minor? Only if you don't really need your receipt. read more

For a small town gas station/marketplace Robert's fills this niche quite nicely. Its always clean, well stocked, and their selection constantly grows. This family run business is better than any commercial gas station in town. Using the post office at Robert's beats going to the actual post office where you are most likely to wait five times longer. If you have a diesel vehicle you will truly appreciate that Robert put in more than two pumps unlike every other gas station in the country. The location of Robert's is key to its success as it is much more convenient than going to say Fry's or Safeway when you need a few items. The new market is a major improvement over what it used to a few years back, and can see it being very successful in the future. The selection of liquor, beer, and wine is extensive and will most likely have something for everyone. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was in the there the other day and while Im waiting in line the owners wife, Mary I think her name is, walks in and starts barking orders at her employees. Then screams from across the store at one of her cashiers saying she didnt know what she was doing, but she was just standing there, when she was asked to do something else. She was helping me when this happened. So she wasnt just standing there. Ive never in my life seen an owner be so disrespectful, and just rude to her employees. I have a company and if I treated my employees the way she did, i wouldnt have any employees. I gave the employee my card and told her I need an office person and I was nothing like her. Dont shop here, they dont respect the people who run thay store for them. Plus the prices are outrageous! read more

I stopped in here on a road trip and I was impressed with the selection and how clean it was. They even great pizza and wine selection. Roberts Market was a great stop on our trip. The staff was friendly. They had everything I needed. The Pizza Place next door to the store was awesome. I had a french dip(delicious) with some wings. The wings are fantastic! They are so good I am going to stop by on my way out of town for the wings. Anyone visiting Prescott Valley should really go by and try the food at the Pizza Place. The truth about Robert's is that they have a monopoly and they know it. Some of their employee's have a cavalier attitude while others are nice and appreciate that customers represent their payroll check. I take my dry cleaning some where else as some employee's don't know how the laundry operates and the laundry services are now closed on Sunday's as per one of the Sunday employee's. I'm left with the impression that customers work for Robert's and some of the staff at Robert's, work for themselves. Some of Robert's don't care if I, or others go somewhere else. Losing a customer like me, to Robert's, it's like removing a star from our galaxy. read more

Twice ive gone into this store walled back to the cooler and gotten a bottle of soda that had already been opened. The store is way too cluttered and i had trouble getting around when i needed to use crutches for a month. Prices are extremely high over $2 for a 20 oz soda is bad. The sandwich shop is pricey but some of the selection is almost worth it. read more
