(Not the best photo...) delicious pre made turkey and cheese sandwich, with a little Vitamin C packet pick me up. Delicious, under $10!

This place was a savior after a long hike on a very hot day. I picked up a pre made turkey and cheese sandwich, which was delicious, and loaded with turkey (I hate when some places skimp out!). Sandwich was big, tasty, and under $10. Made me very happy! This place has everything you would need in a market, with a more extensive deli section (which I always appreciate). Some little outdoor eating areas, which is nice since a lot of cyclists/ hikers come by!

A unique yet classic grocery store. It has a delicious deli with plenty of meal options. You may also purchase meals for the holidays or other special occasions. They also have s smoothie and coffee bar, I have only gotten drip coffee from there so I can't say much. But seems they have some good options. You will find a wide array of sundries/ non perishables including some speciality iems that are harder to find at say , Safeway. Their product section isn't very big but it has the essentials of most items you need. Produce seems a bit pricey in general. They have a large display of fine wines and alcohol.

Turkey Sandwich I had to take apart and redo on my own bread

I usually love Robert's woodside, however I was near the Portola valley area so went to that one. I was super disappointed and will not be going there again. I had two items that were surprisingly terrible. I had bought some dips, a turkey sandwich and couple other things. Nevertheless, the turkey sandwich was so dry, yet the bread was mush and gummy. Plus it's an $11.00 sandwich. If you're going to charge that much it should taste good and I shouldn't have to salvage it at home. The spinach dip is usually like homemade, but this day someone forgot the soup mix, sour cream and green onions. It was so bland and not creamy. I also had to go get the mix and sour cream at another store to salvage that. Needless to say, won't go there again.

I love this place! It's a wonder market and they have delicious sandwiches. The turkey bacon club with avocado was delicious. The bacon is warm which is a really nice touch. Their rosemary chicken sandwich and Chinese chicken salad are great options as well. They also have specialty sodas.

The customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and created a great atmosphere. I ordered the tuna sandwich, and my husband ordered the tuna combo. Unfortunately, neither of us was overly impressed with the taste. It may be because we were comparing it to a tuna sandwich we usually get from another deli, and this one just didn't quite live up to our expectations. We also tried the lemon pie and apple pie, which were both decent and made for a nice treat after our meal. Even though the food wasn't exactly what we were hoping for, I would definitely come back and try something different because the customer service and overall energy of the place were outstanding. Sometimes a great atmosphere and friendly staff are enough to make you want to give a place another chance.

What I really appreciate is how simple they keep everything. Their focus on fresh, handmade sourdough sandwiches with quality ingredients makes ordering easy. There isn't an overwhelming menu--you know exactly what you're getting, and every sandwich is made fresh and comes out quickly, which is perfect when you're on a tight lunch schedule. The customer service is just as impressive as the food. The staff always greet you with a smile, make sure you're taken care of, and create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps you coming back. Whether you choose to enjoy your meal outside in the business district or take it to go, the experience is always enjoyable. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the excellent service. It's hard to find a lunch spot that's this consistent, convenient, and welcoming. I ordered the Godfather, which is supposed to be their specialty, and it was very disappointing. The meats seemed old, extremely fatty, and so chewy that I was unable to swallow them. Every meat on the sandwich was fatty, including the mortadella, which was unusually greasy and unlike anything I've seen before. The texture made the sandwich very unpleasant to eat. It also made me question whether the meats had been stored properly, though I can't say for sure. The bread was average and didn't seem very fresh either. Maybe going later in the day means the ingredients have been sitting too long, but either way, this sandwich was difficult to enjoy and ended up in the trash.

Hence why I stopped here one warm late afternoon despite having lots of food options in this downtown-y area. The Godfather ($15ish/5*) When I first try a deli I will usually try their Italian combo. It's a classic sub I love but honestly I find it hard to find an above average one. I'm not sure if the art of making one has been lost, but within the last decade or so, I strike out more than I get hits. Usually the meat to bread to produce ratio is off. Sometimes the meats are too salty/poor quality. Other times the sauce/dressing flavor is off. I am so stoked that I found a legit one here. They use prosciutto, mortadella and salami here, all my faves. I hate when a place uses American ham/cheese on an Italian sub. And all the meats are of quality, not too salty at all. Provolone was the cheese, textbook. I chose a sourdough roll and even though requires a good amount of teeth strength to bite off a piece and to chew, it was pretty damn satisfying. The interior is soft yet chewy. They definitely use a solid bread company. The bites were what I consider to be classic Italian sub flavors. No curve balls like pesto, red peppers or strong mustard. Just quality meats with great textures, fresh produce dressed in oil n' vinegar so it taste like a good salad. And the kicker that pleasantly surprised me were chunks of marinated artichoke hearts so this made you feel like biting into an antipasto platter just in sandwich form. So Damn Solid. Italian Sausage Sandwich ($15ish/4*). Even though solid I didn't love this as much as the cold sub. They ask what type of sausage mild or hot Italian. Chose hot, no surprise. They said this will take longer to make, like about 10 minutes. I chose a regular sweet French roll for this. Not as chewy as the sourdough roll, much softer but still has body. I liked the flavors of warm marinara with their unique sausage, quite classic once again. But the sausage they use is super thick like twice as thick as a common Italian sausage link. They do split it so it covers the bread but that sausage is one of the firmest textures I've ever had for a sausage. Sausage by nature because of the grind usually bites easily. Not here, I had to bite so hard that the meat couldn't stay in the bread. I think the casing was unusually tough for some reason. I eventually peeled it off. Decent flavors but problematic to eat cleanly. $35+ (after T&T) for 2 sandwiches seems pricey but really it is the new reality. 10 years ago this would have been about $20ish. Welcome to the new world order. Lol
