This hidden gem is a well known spot for motorcycle enthusiasts. They have everything from tamales to panini sandwiches to pasta salads. (Of course they also have all sorts of snacks and drinks.) They also sell hand warmers by the register which I always buy on cold mornings when I'm riding. They are compact and fit inside your gloves like the ones people use while snowboarding or skiing. I would definitely recommend checking out this store if you are in the area. Five stars for sure!

I've only been driving past Skywood for like two decades ... Alice's across the street is the more traditional stop for breakfast on the way to Castle Rock or the other nearby venues for your preference of outdoor activity. And the stores closer to home are the more traditional place to provision, for as one never knows what one might find (or not find) once one ventures farther afield. Last week as I finished what I had come for and was feeling peckish thinking of something at the bottom of the hill I was all but why wait until the bottom if you're hungry presently? This was one of a string of Very Good Questions that I asked and answered as I wandered about the woods because woods stimulates this kind of Q & A that might be held in different regard if one was talking aloud to oneself on BART. So I went in to see what was what. Long story short and the point of this after all - no need to provision at the bottom of the hill! Or if you do and then you remember that you missed a detail fear not! Skywood gots you covered. I procured a delicious house made chicken salad sammy and a chips and Coke in a bottle and went out back and took my repast in the shade of tall trees. So pleasant. Price point surprisingly reasonable. A variety of stores on the shelves for just about whatever you have in mind. Who knew? I did not know. Now we both do.

BEWARE: They charged me 94$ for a pack of Oreos, a red bull, two basic deli sandwiches, two microwave enchiladas, and two brownies ...... how lol ?!?! They threw away the recipe and I felt to awkward to ask to see why on earth it was so expensive. Sucks cuz we just moved here and it would be nice to have had this place as an option instead of having to drive down the hill for any old thing. Just tried to do the math on why it cost so much. They would have had to double charge me for every item to get close to the 94$ mark but why is the same item bough there marked at two different prices.... Feels illegal. UPDATE: I returned to get my receipt printed to figure out what happened. Thankfully it was a different cashier. He found my recipe and said she accidentally typed a 50$ instead of a 5$ and gave me a refund. He was amazing and I might return in the future because of his awesome customer service, but as for whoever works Monday's around 11am ... absolutely not. I'm curious as to if she pocketed the extra money herself or if it was a honest mistake. Either way a 45$ mistake is unacceptable!!!!

I have been coming for years and they have great products and awesome paninis . I usually get the Tuscan panini and it's always delicious. Great place to come when you go down to the beach to grab snacks , beer and great selection of fresh brewed coffee .

Great tamales made locally. It's why you stop at places like Skywood.

Love local stores like this. Their sandwiches and other foods always seem to be above average as compared to other convenience stores. Skywood Trading Post is no exception. I popped in for a drink and a snack. Ended up staying for a pork tamle and a Kerns .

Nice grocery store with lots of stuff & full service deli. They got liquors, cold drinks, beer, wine, fruit juice, milk, hot & cold deli sandwiches & freshly made salads. All at good prices. Employees have all always been nice to us & give good service every time we've stopped by. They got a few tables outside to sit & eat. Porta-potties bathroom + gas station. Bonus: Can always check out the latest bikes & exotic cars in the parking lot. :)

I'm not buying a bread sandwich. The bread's job is really to frame and support the other ingredients and not dominate the experience. In the Cubano, the bread did bookend and support the ingredients, but there was simply too much of it compared to the important ingredients like the proteins. The crumb was thick and overwhelming, so each bite started with a mouthful of bread rather than a mix of the flavors. That was especially disappointing because the meats were clearly a step above what you find at most sandwich shops. The ham was carved directly from the bone which deserves recognition. Tasted alone, it had great flavor and was a quality product. The pickles were green and snapped with freshness. But these ingredients got lost behind the excess bread. With a better bread-to-filling ratio, the ham and the rest of the ingredients would have made more on an impact. As for the shop itself, when I first walked in, it felt like the kind of neighborhood spot where one of Tony Soprano's guys might stop by to collect a protection payment. I half expected a bagman to emerge from a back-room card game wearing an undersized sleeveless T-shirt with a filterless Camel hanging from his lips. It's not intimidating, but a bit of no-frills grit and unapologetically old school. I had the cashier pick between the two sandwiches I was considering and went with the recommendation. The process is straightforward -they make the sandwich and hand it over the counter. I wasn't asked whether it was for here or to go, and since it arrived in a brown paper bag, I took that as my cue to start walking with it. Character isn't this place's problem. The shop has personality, the ingredients are quality as the ham deserves praise. But for me, the bread overwhelmed everything else. A better protein:bread ratio would have earned this place another star.

The customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and created a great atmosphere. I ordered the tuna sandwich, and my husband ordered the tuna combo. Unfortunately, neither of us was overly impressed with the taste. It may be because we were comparing it to a tuna sandwich we usually get from another deli, and this one just didn't quite live up to our expectations. We also tried the lemon pie and apple pie, which were both decent and made for a nice treat after our meal. Even though the food wasn't exactly what we were hoping for, I would definitely come back and try something different because the customer service and overall energy of the place were outstanding. Sometimes a great atmosphere and friendly staff are enough to make you want to give a place another chance.

Went for lunch and got the two highest-rated items on the menu: California Love (mesquite smoked turkey, bacon, and avocado with the works) and Soprano (hot capocollo, Genoa salami, mortadella with pistachios, and balsamic glaze with the works). These are BIG sandwiches. And they're juicyyy. I like a wet sandwich and this delivered perfectly. The bread holds up, the ingredients are quality, and everything just works together well. The workers here are lovely, nice, and quick with the service. It's a simple little spot that doesn't need to do anything fancy because they're nailing the fundamentals. For the size and quality of these sandwiches, the value is excellent. You're getting a filling, well made sandwich that actually tastes good, not just big for the sake of being big. Honestly one of the best sandwich spots in the area. If you're looking for a solid deli sandwich that won't disappoint, this is your place. Simple, quality, and consistent.
