These people are awful. Not only do they tow your car within five minutes (after 1 AM none the less when nobody is around) but they are incredibly rude over the phone. The woman I spoke with was absolutely terrible (screaming over the phone....absolutely heinous). When you walk back to the location of your parked car and the space is empty it's moderately upsetting and sends you into a mini-panic. I was calm until I called Robert's over the phone. This is the Department of Public Utilities and is the ONLY way to have a chance of getting your money back. I was visiting a friend in a private condo complex on Allston Street in Brighton, when these....here I'll be nice and call them "gentlemen", illegally tried to tow my car and my wife's. I was not in my car when they sped into the private lot, but I was outside with my friend and within 30 feet of my vehicle. I did get into my car before one driver lifted my car with me in it. Most privately owned condo buildings require someone, usually the superintendent, to call to remove a car. This didn't happen here, as we were outside for literally 3 minutes before I witnessed two tow trucks speed into the lot to attempt to tow our cars. I ended up having to pay their $50 drop fee to be able to drive my car home. I will be getting it back, though. There are a few steps to take, but I am annoyed enough to take the time to do it. I know that towing companies aren't the nicest individuals to deal with, but this company is by far the worst one that I've ever dealt with. I parked outside of Stop and Shop in Mission Hill and spent 2 hours in there shopping and trying to figure out how to make roast chicken using my smart phone. I come out and find my car being lifted by none other than Robert's Towing. Keep in mind, I had a FULL carriage of groceries and a whole lot of confusion. The guy told me I had to pay $50 so he wouldn't tow my car. After a lot of crying and arguing, I finally gave in and went to get money for him to let my car go. How was I supposed to get home with all my groceries, IN THE SNOW, without my car? He wasn't sorry at all for making me go through this ordeal. He, in fact, laughed and smiled at me a lot. I just don't understand how you can shop somewhere and give them your business but then get towed for being there. He said I was 7 minutes over the limit. 7 MINUTES! I begged him to put my car down and just be nice since it was the holidays, I had a full carriage of groceries, it was snowing, and none of my family lives in the area. He basically told me there was nothing he could do (although just putting my car down is something he could have done, under the circumstances) and that I had to fork up the $50 or I was getting towed. Hi Robert's Towing, So I drove five hours to Boston and arrived around 1:30 AM. My friend suggested I park in a spot (he was with me). We looked around for signs and saw none. I was towed the next day. Turned out, the tow sign was covered by a tree limb. Given I was practically falling asleep, I thought I would have more time to recover my car. I called the town hall to find out that it was your company that towed my vehicle. I then proceeded to call your company at 25 Goodenough St. and was greeted by a callous dispatcher, who, after one minute, told me that she had "three other calls to pick up". She told me that I "had to pay cash". At this point, I started to become enraged at her audacity and incredulously asked her if she was serious. I did not even have enough money to cover the tow. After her checking with some person next to her for thirty seconds or so, she said that they accept MasterCard and Visas as well. I still did not have enough money and told the dispatcher this. She replied that she was just a dispatcher and had to take the other calls coming in - essentially, deal with the additional fees every day you do not pay to get the car. She gave me your address and so I walked two miles to your business location. I had my friend walk with me to your location. He barely had enough money to pay for the release of my car. Because it was a couple hours over 24 since it had been towed, I was charged for two days (acceptable). What really got me was that after I drove out, I found that there was change missing from a pocket in my car. I dealt with that and moved on. During my drive back to my residence, I heard a noise near the front of my car. Turns out my bumper was halfway off. Given, I should have checked for damages before I left your lot, I wouldn't think that someone would fail to mention a bumper falling off or detaching partially. My car was damaged because of the tow, and I am looking into investigating this further with legal counsel. I had barely any chance of recovering my car. A notice would have been great or a warning. What do you make of my situation? Does it seem appropriate that I had gone to sleep, woke up, and then realized my mistake and had to walk in order to pick up my car? I have a reserved parking spot and came home last night to find another car in it. My lease states that I can be towed if I park in a different spot than my own, so that wasn't really an option for me in order to give the poor schmuck who can't read the sign above the parking spot a break. I called Roberts Towing and they were there within 15 minutes. They had the car out of my space within another 10 minutes (it was a bit of a tight squeeze, and they seemed to handle the car with care when getting it onto their truck). I know no one wants to get towed, and those of us who pay for the spots that you parked in illegally also don't want to have to tow you. Unfortunately, I didn't have any option other than idling and hoping that they eventually came and moved their car. I'd much prefer to come home and immediately park in my spot than have to call a tow truck and deal with a 30 minute ordeal. I had a tenant that had his card keyed after having someone towed from his spot last week. The tenant was embarrassed to tell me he had someone towed and he suspected said person to be the one who keyed his car. With very little to no information to go on, I called Jackie and started the investigation. I only had the address and time frame as to when the car had been towed (and the name of the person who called it in). I came to find my truck towed from an unmarked parking spot no labels anywhere to be found giving me a reason to get towed. I showed up and there are scratches and dents all over my brand new truck. The power steering went they must of blew the line while towing it. Also when i got home I realized 100 dollars was taken from my center console and my knife and watch were stolen as well. First, she went to pick up her prescription at the CVS Pharmacy located right there next door. When in 5 minutes she returned to the parking lot, her car was towed away by Robert's/Frank's Towing located at 25 Good Enough Street in Brighton Massachusetts (what a great name for a street nesting a company like this!) Before going there to recover my daughters car, she and I went to the scene of towing event to check the signs and take pictures for future disputing the legitimacy of the towing company actions. While we were there, I went into Dunkin' Donuts shop to get my cup of coffee and croissant. Interestingly, the salesperson was not at the counter so I had to raise my voice calling her. As I analyse this part of the story, I come to conclusion most likely she may have already been on her way calling the towers and being monetarily incentivised by Towing for doing that. Later, when she was handing me my order, she did share that once people leave their cars in the parking lot to go to the CVS Store, that's is exactly when their cars get towed in a matter of five minutes. This is what happened to my daughter. How would this "teamwork" be possible, if the Dunkin' Donuts associates wouldn't be making these calls to the Robert's/Frank's Towing? Would you be so determined making such calls if not being monetarily incentivised by the towing company? The DD associate also said they tow near 10 cars a day there(!!!). All this sounds like a perfectly set up trap where unaware customers are being targeted as the victims of this scheme. Otherwise, how would that be possible to make such a good hay - as many as 10 cars per day?! As my daughter and I were staying in the car, the tow truck with two associates of the Roberts/Franks Towing pulled into the parking lot, turned around and approached the car that was parked next to mine. One of them asked me whether that was my car. I have no problem lying to mofos making money such an unattractive way and to save someone's car from getting towed away - the same way that my daughter's car did. So I said "yes". As later I was going to go to the tow yard for my daughters car, and was preparing for possible altercations there. So, I started filming the towing truck and two these two measerables. It is not illegal to record a video of anything I like, right? What happened next is clearly seen on the video: two towing associates literally committed assault (and I am very responsibly using this legal term) by approaching me much closer than what is considered a personal space, lighting their flashlights in my face an phone camera so their faces would not be identified, and acting outright aggressive and threatening. As I am trying to drive attention to this case to make the community aware, I still think the bigger issue here is that this corrupt business venture smoothly runs as a perfect setup for extortion of money under seemingly legitimate reason - the cars parked on the private property. I think there is a connection between the Dunkin' Donuts shop and Robert's/Frank's Towing and somewhat questionable special treatment of the named towing company by the BPD. This is the worst parking, customer service, and un-human thing I have been a part of in memory. I parked my car all day in the garage near 930 Comm Ave to take a 7-hour exam. Knowing I would be taking an exam for a long time I chose to park in a garage to not get towed or a ticket. I then left the garage after paying around 4 PM. Realizing that I did not get a receipt for my parking (to get reimbursed by my company) I drove back around, pulled my car to the side of the road (leaving my car ON and with the 4 way flashers on) walked across the street (approx 30 feet away) to speak with the parking attendant for a receipt. In that amount of time (approx 15 seconds) the ROBERTS towing truck pulled up, threw their tow hitch under my car and lifted it up! I was in the middle of the street by the time he got to my car and screamed, "do not lift my car IM RIGHT HERE!!!" How is it that I can get towed with my car ON and with the 4 way flashers going, when I'm 30 feet away?? This "employee" I guess you could call it was extremely rude and said I could pay him in cash to get it lowered. I feel that this was a gross misuse of their "power" only for him to try and make some money and probably not claim it for work. I called the cops and they came and had my car put back down. No fine, no fee. Robert's is THE WORST! I cannot believe this could ever happen to someone that is only trying to get a receipt for parking legally all day. This drive obviously was stalking me as again, I was gone for 15 seconds. Really bad customer service and handling of the situation. If the guy said to me to move my car I would have gladly, without a problem moved it, but as I said, I would have been gone from the spot in less than 30 seconds, only needed a receipt. read more

This tow company should be CLOSED down! They towed my car with a VALID permit parking pass displayed in the dashboard window. I have been towed before but never by this company and when i arrived i talked to the women as to why she towed my car. She stated my pass was invalid. I walked over to the car and saw it was valid. went back to talk to her and another guy who runs a truck claims i went into the car and changed the permit. It was the biggest lie ever. i never went into my car. they are a horrible company and should not be allowed to be in business anymore. I completely understand that everyone has a job to do but when you are rude, ignorant and have no reason behind things all I can do is laugh. When you call to complain all they do is say that they are right and you are wrong. Good, upstanding citizens beware!!! Friday night, 1:30 am. I awake to the sounds of voices in my driveway. I go to the window and see two men shining a flashlight in my car window. I promptly yell out the window, "Where are you guys from?!" The two scurry away from the car and look up at me responding, "The moon!" I let them know that maybe it's best that I call the police. They turn their backs to me and walk up the driveway. Not two minutes later, I see the two driving away in a ROBERT's TOWING truck. I have a LEGITIMATE parking sticker on my car in a WELL-LIT driveway that is CLEARLY visible from my apartment window - there's absolutely no need to be shining a flashlight inside my car to "validate" the sticker. What kind of 'low-lifes' go around at 1:30 in the morning shining lights in peoples' cars to "validate" parking stickers and then don't have the decency or respect to say what company they're from? These guy are lucky I didn't call the cops on them. If they had stated who they worked for right away I would have found it *slightly* more acceptable - but how was I supposed to know they weren't criminals about to break into my car and steal it? I needed a tow to the body shop this morning, and called 4 different companies. Robert's Towing was the only one that had trucks in the area that could get me into the shop within a reasonable amount of time - and the only one that could get me into the shop before it closed for the holiday weekend before the blizzard hit (which was extremely important to me). The tow truck driver was to my car within 10 minutes of the call being placed. He actually saved me money by using a winch to pull me out of my spot so I could drive to the body shop instead of a full tow. The driver was pleasant and easy to work with despite the freezing conditions outside on a narrow, busy, one-way road, and I really appreciated his help! Robert's Towing is located on 25 Goodenough Street... but their service was so far from "good enough" as to be laughable. Echoing several other reviews on this page- I have not engaged with a shadier, more manipulative, or less professional company. The short version: Robert's trolls for cars in lots where they know they can ding drivers on technicalities, and at times when an owner is not likely to notice for an extended period of time that their car is missing, allowing Robert's to charge maximum price when a driver finally locates their vehicle in the sketchiest of lots. They look for easy opportunities to manipulate the situation in such a way with their location, extraordinarily poor customer service, and cash-only policy, to ensure that they leave driver's feeling vulnerable, while they reap maximum profit. I could not be more disgusted. I would recommend that any business looking to contract their towing with Robert's look elsewhere- Robert's poor customer-service will reflect poorly on the businesses they tow for as well. I will be advocating with my realty company that they change their contract and company policy immediately. As a "customer," I would recommend that anyone who has their car towed by Robert's do the following... On your call: -Confirm the time your car was towed -How much it costs at that moment to retrieve your car -When the price will increase, and what that price increase will be (It might not hurt to record the call.) When you retrieve your car: Go with plenty of cash and a buddy. Everything about this place feels sketchy and unsafe. Be aware that they have done everything to manipulate the situation for their monetary advantage. The longer version: First, my car was towed from a private residential parking lot, for which I have an assigned, numbered spot, and pay considerable money for, on a Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. I had just gotten a new car, and had not had time in the week to update my parking sticker, but given that I pay for the specific spot and have been told by the lot owner that I'm responsible for calling the tow company if someone parks there inappropriately, I thought parking my car in my spot sticker-less for a night or two would be fine. Not so, Robert's trolls for cars that look out of place and tows without notifying the realty company that owns the lot. Therefore, I didn't discover that my car had been towed to Robert's until Monday morning when I went to drive to work. The tow sign in my lot gives the number to the realty company that owns the lot, not Robert's so I was unable to locate my car until the start of the realty company's business hours at 9 AM. When I spoke to the realty company at 9 AM, they confirmed that they had not actively asked for my car to be towed, but suggested I call Robert's in case it was there, which I did immediately. Robert's confirmed that my car was there because it "didn't have the sticker" and that it would be $129- CASH ONLY, to pick up the vehicle. It was 9 AM, and by that point I had gotten a ride to work with a friend, so I was unable to pick up the car at the end of the day. I arrived at 25 Goodenough Street at 5:30 that night, with my $129 cash-in-hand, the street is sketchy, and as a single female it is definitely not somewhere I would want to linger. The lady at the desk informed me I owed $164. When I asked her about the significant price increase since I called she said it was because I called before 9:30 in the morning, so it hadn't been 24 hours at that time, since then the price had gone up. I pointed out that on the call I hadn't been told there would be a price increase, or even been informed at what time my car had been towed the previous day. She shrugged and said, "I didn't know." More like she hadn't been bothered to look and it suited Robert's bottom line not to mention when I'd called that morning that I only had 20 mins to get my car before the price went up. Given that Robert's "establishment" is cash-only, and not in a location with easy access to an ATM, I could have been in a real jam- not enough cash, no where to get it, no car to drive to get it. Luckily, I had enough cash in my wallet to cover it, I really wanted to fight her on the price hike- they should have told me the price structure when I called in the morning. But the location takes advantage of car owners, it feels unsafe, sketchy, and negotiating outside with cash through a locked window and when your car is on the other side, gives Robert's full advantage to charge whatever they want. My receipt wasn't itemized in a way that I could even tell what the hourly or daily rate is- just said "storage: $70." Basically, they could have charged whatever they D*mn-well pleased. read more

This business gave me the worst night I've ever had in Boston. It was quite easy to see they picked my car out because of the non-Massachusetts plates. The cash only aspect is also very highly suspicious. Either way, it's quite the racket. Between the venue I saw a show at not clearly saying what the parking situation is and the impounding process of my car, I call foul. I have had two experiences with Roberts. The first, I was wrongfully towed from a spot that I rent. They didn't care, even after seeing my parking agreement, and I had to pay $131 to get my car back. The second, they refused to tow a U-Haul that was blocking the entrance to my parking lot because "it's moving season". They are horrible. I am filing complaints with the Boston Police, the Better Business Bureau, and my building's management company. I'm sure they deal with a lot of rude people, but in both instances I began being perfectly pleasant until the woman on the phone acted like a wretched bitch for no reason. No stars! Assholes! Take your towing needs elsewhere!!! Stay away from Cambridge Savings Bank in Newton Center and pull your business out of there if you're a customer! They use Roberts Towing, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even tho' the bank lot doesn't have signage indicating that. I can certainly understand giving your customers the courtesy of enforced parking during regular business hours but after hours? If you're going to do that, then you really are obligated to show proper and accurate signage. On a Saturday evening, well after bank hours, my car was towed - ( was away from the car for not more than 5 minutes. Roberts towing towed the car to Brighton, charged $90 for trespassing (there are no NO trespassing signs in the bank lot), plus $40 for storage (the car arrived just as I did at Roberts in Brighton), $15 for towing 3 miles (they claim their rate is $3.50 per mile) plus another $6 for "other charges" they could not/would not explain. Plus I had to take a cab to get to where the car was (another $20). All cash to get the car back! Yes, towing cars isn't pleasant - it's a necessity for those REALLY deserving of it. The flip side is that these kinds of situations I describe are a real SCAM!!! We should band together and file a civil action against this company of ripoffs!! Since "Robert" from "Robert's Towing" felt that I was insulting to his employee who I felt was a mumbling and stumbling fool let me further explain. I understand Boston accents and my family dates back to the early 1740's in the great Boston area. I have no problem with immigrants or people with accents I have a problem with those incapable of having a conversation that could be described as english or any other form of communication. What I don't appreciate, on top of being towed inappropriately, is calling a business and getting someone who cannot communicate at all. It was 11:00 P.M. or so when I finally realized there was a number to call on the outside of my Daughter's building. It had quite a bit of graffiti on it, probably from other satisfied customers, and I didn't know who I was calling Here's how the first phone call went: The phone rings and all I get is a "hello" in a mouth filled with marbles voice. Not a "Robert's Towing" or anything that lead me to believe I had called the right number. I ask "who is this?" and "who did I call?" There was a delay, and this marble mouthed individual states "Who is this?" in a sarcastic manner. I try to explain what had happened but the long delays in answering, and the lack of explaining who this was, caused me to hang up and call back. 2nd Call: I now decide that this individual on the other end of the phone was basically unable/unwilling to communicate. I use "English" as a manner of speaking that can communicate with another individual. The person spoke some form of English, didn't have an accent, and his problem was that he didn't care and was either eating, incompetent, or didn't give a damn so that's how I use the term "English." The second call goes no better than the first and while I got him to mutter and mumble that I had reached a towing company, made worse by my name being Robert and due to the limited ability of this person I didn't understand if he was repeating my name, giving me a name of the place, or just being wise. Since it was late and raining heavily I was trying very hard to get information as to 'WHERE IS MY CAR". "DO YOU HAVE IT'. "WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED." I was seriously starting to think that the vehicle had simple been stolen. Old "Marble Mouth" finally stated "Good enough" and I, due to his incompetence and eating while smoking or whatever was going on in the hole he work in, thought he was being a wise guy which was an easy assumption to make. I reply that it wasn't "Good enough" and he stated "Yeah it isss." I then call the Brighton Police for I couldn't get the darn address from this person and had serious concerns about what on earth had happened and what type of place was I dealing with. The police had some empathy for my situation and were kind enough to provide me with confirmation that the street was "Goodenough" or something like that and how to get there. My third call, now that I had the facts of who and where was slightly better for I didn't need to rely on this mumble mouth to provide anything except "How much is it." Again, with voice that was almost unrecognizable he was capable of telling me how much I owed. However, my concern now was would they be open when I got there for we were a mile plus away and had no means of transportation. It was going to be close to Midnight and I didn't know if they closed or what. Unfortunately, this question to the individual as to "What time do you close" was either too much for him to understand or they are open all night. All he had to do was tell me the answer to the question. We did make it in time, or again they were still open, and paid our cash and were on our way. I made sure to get a receipt which, once again, was a sloooowwwwww process. So, Robert from "Robert's Towing" it was not me insulting anyone who is an immigrant on anything else when I utilize the term "English." I would rather have spoken with someone with a heavy accent who could have told me the answers to my questions. Do not try and turn a valid complaint into a racial or ethnic diversion. I suppose you need to divert attention from the real issue which was incompetence and, in my opinion, taking advantage of someone with out of state plates who was parked in a spot paid for by his daughter. Whether or not the towing was justified isn't the real issue it was my factual explanation and your desire to create a smoke screen. In my business I try to fix problems and learn from unhappy customers. If your goal is to try and find a way out of any responsibility on your part then you will not do as well in the future. In this modern age, like it or not, reviews like this allow the consumer to be aware of how companies deal with issues. I don't have any glaring reason to be angry at Robert's Towing, but after reading some reviews and experiencing some of the services this company provides, I figured I'd chime in. I was at a friend's apartment in the middle of the night for a few hours and I parked in the lot behind the building. Granted, I was parked in a permit parking only area. That is entirely my fault. However, I still find it relatively absurd that it was called in at around 2:30am...or found or however it happened. So, I guess the lesson learned is to think twice about where you park even in the dead of night...or just don't drive in Boston because legal parking is hard to come by. I went the following morning to pick up my vehicle. The other reviews are correct, the woman you deal with has a very apparent attitude. She was just doing her job, but there was a consistent undertone of irritation and general lack of professional courtesy that I didn't like. Yeah...I get these people deal with angry tow victims all the time...but still the attitude of the employees could be a lot better. A professional business should have professional, courteous service, regardless of what is being dealt with. There is no excuse for having a bad attitude like this...and it screams unprofessional in my opinion. Edit: Also, I forgot to mention this business is cash only for some reason. On top of that (at least when I picked up my vehicle), they did not have any change. So, I had to bring the exact amount of cash. Again, not professional for a business. read more

I live adjacent to a lot, which is monitored by Robert's towing. They cruise through the lot multiple times per day, looking for offenders. They tow zip cars which are returned to the wrong spot. They make a huge amount of noise, and never turn off the truck. Last night, they towed a truck and 20 minutes later brought it back to the same space. This happens frequently. Both times the alarm was blaring, and the driver took off while it was going off. This company is unprofessional, rude, annoying and nasty! read more

They towed my new tenant's car on a moving day Sept 2nd at my private parking space! They say the car needs a parking sticker or they will tow it, but the management company is not open for 3 days on Labor day weekend and we were not able to get a sticker. I asked them who called them to tow the car, the guy said the security guard for the condo, then when I asked them the name of the security guard, they said no one called. They just came and towed any car that has no parking sticker on. This towing garage has no ethics, run by bad people! read more

I would give them a negative star if I can. They towed my can when it's parked in the parking lot of my apartment with a valid parking sticker. I tried to stop the rude guy towing my car, and surely told him I have an valid parking sticker on my car window. I asked him to call the building office if he does not believe. I was having trouble parking in my designated spot yesterday and a Roberts tow truck pulled up behind me. I asked him to reverse, since it was going to take me a while to make a tight difficult maneuver. Rather than oblige, he started getting out of his car in a threatening manner and hurling vulgarities at me. He told me to "s*ck a c*ck, b*tch" and to go f myself and then got out of his car and started taking pictures of me and my license plate. I should have called the police. Nobody likes towing companies, but this guy is an actual threat to the community. read more

This is one of the most dishonest companies I have ever come across. They towed my sister's car from her workplace, and instead of towing the car by accessing only the exterior parts, they unlawfully jimmied the lock open, and unlawfully entered the vehicle. They rifled through her glove compartment and console - and stole her loose change and her Ray Ban sunglasses. They also sat in the driver's seat AND on the passenger's seat. When sitting on the passenger seat, they sat on and wrinkled/damaged her friend's immigration/work visa documents. When she had to pay an arm & a leg to regain possession of her vehicle that had been parked legally, they denied all of their criminal activities and did not return her sunglasses or cash. We parked, at the recommendation of a friend who had always parked in the blockbuster spaces for dinner and a movie rental, behind the Chestnut Hill Ave. Blockbuster in Brighton to go to dinner. At the time we arrived I didn't realize that store had shut down (which I now know). We came out of dinner (2 families with our 5 children) and our cars were towed. There was a warning that only Blockbuster customers could park there (which we all are, although we couldn't be at this location!). We couldn't believe that Blockbuster would care if anyone parked there while the store was closed. (We were wrong). We believe this towing company is taking advantage of its contract with Blockbuster and is doing predatory towing 24 hours from these spots. I have contacted Blockbuster (suggesting they make sure to remove their name from any signs lest all those who have to pay $110 to retrieve their cars feel bitter) and filed a complaint with Boston Consumer Affairs with our view that the signs are confusing and that Roberts Towing is taking advantage of the situation. We were unable to speak with a manager at Robert's Towing, despite the fact that we were told we would need to speak to a manager when we called to see if our cars were there. That said, I feel sympathy with the employees behind glass in the tow yard, who get a spate of frustrated people and must be instructed to do nothing but release cars if people pay money. We were given no info on the towing company nor were we allowed to speak to a Manager. read more

Everyone is just angry because they are a towing company! People are probably so rude to them when their cars get towed, so don't park where you aren't supposed to! They patrol 3 lots for my company and they do a great job. They are extremely helpful when I call and I've never had a problem. Stop crying. read more

Visiting friends yesterday. Their condo complex has a small number of visitor spots, clearly marked as such. I specifically parked in one of those, because that is what they are there for. Oh, little did I know. Came out after a very nice dinner to my car having been stolen by Robert's. I say stolen because at the end of the day, that's what this is; a company that makes money by convincing properties to legally empower them to steal and hold hostage vehicles for ludicrous, criminal rates. When I went to get my car, they said it was supposed to have a sticker. My friends have lived there since 2005 and they've never heard of needing a sticker to park in the marked visitor's lot. $90 for the tow, $35 for storing it in their wretched little lot for an hour, and $6 for the mysterious "OTHER". I think the six bucks is just on there as a sort of "F you". A tow truck driver was climbing out of his truck as I was retrieving my car, and he actually pointed at us and laughed. You can't make this up. When I give a *restaurant* one star, usually it's because they are bad at having a restaurant; they can't cook or they're disorganized or whatever. But Robert's one star is because they're actually bad human beings. No decent person could do this kind of parasitic, dishonest, mercenary work and sleep well at night. I'm sure they justify it to themselves because it's (bafflingly) legal to run an aggressive patrol towing company this way in Boston, but legal and moral exist in a venn diagram for which the overlap is sometimes surprisingly small. My son dashed into Dunkin Donuts just after Christmas, his receipt is marked 11:48 PM. While he was there, his car was towed from a legal spot. the tow truck company said they came in to ask if that car belonged to anyone before towing-my son was one of few people in the store then, he says no one ever came in. After reading all these reviews, seems like someone has to do something about these jerks. read more

Great experience here. I was worried about having too much money but thankfully they were willing to take $125 off my hands. You'd think after 4 years I'd learn to move my goddamn car for street cleaning but nope. I actually wasn't even in Boston today, I woke up at 6am to drive here just to make sure I'd be on time to get towed for street cleaning. Great business though, very discreet towing, you won't even know your car is gone until you go to drive somewhere. read more

K R. just because they are a towing company doesn't mean they can act disrespectful. If I didn't pity them for having to work for a towing company the rest of their lives I'd report them to the better business bureau. I was illegally parked five minutes seriously, and I saw them come into the lot but I ran to my apartment on the top floor with flowers in a vase and my bags from being away, it was my birthday. I tried to make eye contact with them and saw them checking cars not near mine so I ran up and down and they had my car on the tow truck. They made me fork over $50 which they most likely pocketed. I pleaded with them and was furious, and the guy told me not to F*** with him and he was having a bad day. I gave them the money and they left I followed them out of the lot laid on my horn at them and while driving they kept stopping short and lowering the lift menacingly on my car. As I was driving when I had my blinker on they blocked the road I was trying to go on. When I went to pass them on the left they darted out, blocking me again. Yes, towing cars isn't pleasant, but it's a necessity. While many of us obey the rules and pay the high cost of parking in Brookline, there are those who continue to cheat the system. In the coldest of cold, I made the difficult decision to tow someone who decided to make a space in our tight and very expensive garage. Sorry, buddy, but it's not fair. Roberts towing is always a phone call away when i come home after working 10 hours to find my spot taken. If you complainers knew what that felt like then they would be your best freinds. The amount of vehicles you tow compared to other towing companies does not by any means define your quality of service since the circumstances under which you're towing are unethical. A vehicle that is turned on with the owner standing 10 steps from it is not parked, it's a standing vehicle. read more

The woman you have working at the front desk needs to be fired. She yelled at me and then hung up on me when I called to come retrieve my car. When I got there, she continued to be unforgivably rude, yelling at me "YOU PARKED IN THE WRONG PLACE, YOU PARKED IN THE WRONG PLACE HONEY," then held my debit card and my license for a good few seconds, smiled with glee and said, "cash only." There was no sign. It was an illegal tow to begin with for which I am being reimbursed by my landlord. I say this because my property manager is now gearing up to fire the whole towing company because they have cost my landlord $130 that he now has to take out of my rent. Perhaps if she behaved like a human being, people wouldn't consistently complain and there wouldn't be an impending investigation ......
