He was courteous, professional, and said he could be to my place in 20 minutes, which he was almost down to the minute. He got my car hitched up to his truck in about 90 seconds, and he even managed to place his truck at an angle on a narrow, one-way Brighton street so that other cars could get by. And his price was very reasonable -- less than other places I had quoted in the area (though be advised that he will ask for cash, so be sure to run to the ATM before you call). Charged me 75 dollars when he could not tow my car. I warned him the technical difficulty million times but he thought he could handle it. He didn't disclose that I will be charged even if he could do nothing. This part, I can live with because he spent time on it. It's just that he is incompetent. Then, he said he knew a "friend" who would be capable of towing my car. However, he said I had to go through him and the price was 375 dollars. I knew this was monkey business so I googled other shops to find a guys who could do the job. It turned out that the person I found online was accidentally the "friend" he referred to. Brendan, the owner of O'Shea's Towing, answered my call when others had their phones off for the night. He was on the scene in 30 minutes, explained the towing process, and quickly pulled our Honda away. Over the next 2 weeks, he helped us deal with our appraiser and gave us advice that smoothed our settlement. When I went to empty out the car, I noticed that he'd kindly garaged it to keep the rain out of the car's broken windows. Highly recommend! I was in a huge jam-- all four wheels were stolen from my car in Dorchester and I had to get it towed to my longtime mechanic in Needham. No small feat. AAA refused to help and no other towing companies returned my calls. Brendan picked up right away, listened to my story, and was so sympathetic and kind. Let me start by saying that most people would never associate pleasant memories with a towing experience HOWEVER O'Shea's Towing is the exception. I have lived in Boston for 10 years and have heard my share of towing horror stories. I went outside of my apartment one day to find my car gone, immediately thinking it was stolen I called the BPD and was told that Frank's ABC Towing (Allston) hit it while it was parked on the street and that is was towed to O'Shea's because it was pushed onto the sidewalk due to the impact of the hit. I called O'Sheas Towing upset and irritated, O'shea's Towing was very helpful, understanding and to my surprise empathetic. Brendan explained thoroughly what the correct steps were to move forward. My car was held in his lot for over two weeks while the insurance went through their motiions/antics. Brendan from O'Shea's was accomodating, genuine and most importantly honest. He made a very frustrating and negative experience, tolerable. I strive to support small businesses as much as I can and my experience with O'Shea's Towing not only reminded me how small businesses differ from the larger corporate competitors but how his company in particular stands out from the rest of the towing world. Tow truck drivers get a bad reputation because ruthless tow companies like Robert's and Frank's ABC Towing ruin it for the rest of the bunch but someone has to do it and if you are every in need of a tow I reccommend O'Shea's Towing 100%. I would give them 10 stars if that was an option. Usually I associate towing with a negative experience but I could say the opposite about O'Shea's. I had killed my car battery to the point where it wouldn't even unlock - they came very quickly, were able to get the door unlocked and the battery charged up for me very quickly! Additionally the car was in a hotel parking garage and their tow truck wouldn't fit in the garage but he was so nice about walking his tools up to the third floor to help me out.
