My lease expired in June. I had a terrible experience with the service department at this dealership. I steer all my friends and family away from doing business here. In fact, recently bought a new Toyota myself and went out of town to do so, as I refused to go here. I called prior to taking my Toyota Highlander in for a brake job. After I dropped my car off they called to tell me the price I was quoted was only for the front brakes to be replaced on my vehicle, so it would actually cost double to do the brakes in the rear too. Frustrated, as I told them exactly what I wanted when I called prior, I told them I would take it elsewhere and not to do the brake job. When I picked up my car later that day the check engine light was on - which was a first for this car. I immediately took it to have the code read and it showed an issue with the mass air flow sensor. When I took it back and questioned the manager at the service department they immediately blamed it on the repairman who looked at my car and said he cracked the sensor. They said they would order the part and call me when it came in for replacement. I had to follow up multiple times, and a month later I finally took my vehicle in for repair only to be told that they could not be held liable for the damage and would not be replacing my part. Not only was the staff was very rude and condescending, but they completely went back on their word. I'm my book, they cannot be trusted. read more

Poor Communication, Dishonesty, lack of Transparency and Bait and Switch pretty much sums up my experience. I tried purchasing a Toyota LC through the dealership. I was quoted a price and told the dealership had a vehicle for me. I put down a good faith deposit of $1,000 to secure THAT vehicle. At first there was one available, then there wasn't, then the dealership would get one. I really had zero idea what was going on. Over the course of several weeks, I tried to get details from the salesman on the vehicle, but was always promised something the next day, next week, or whenever he had time. I was later asked which model and color I was looking for despite our initial conversation on what I was looking for and deposit, which was done based on what was communicated to me on price and availability. Despite trying over and over for weeks to get details on the vehicle, I got nothing. The salesman was either too busy working or had the day off, or was waiting on word from his manager. Nothing but excuses! After this absolutely atrocious customer service, I became super frustrated and said I no longer wanted to do business with the dealership. I lost complete trust the dealership and the process. Right after I received a screen shot of a window sticker for a vehicle that was above the price originally quoted to me. This is how car sales are done? When I pointed this out, the response was, "no problem, we can get you one similar to the original one you were looking for..." Here we are talking about a $65K transaction and that is the communication, the customer service, the transparency I get? I am now working with my bank to cancel the credit card transaction since the salesman and the dealership will not respond. I do not know what else to do so I am WARNING YOU. I do not like giving any business a bad review, but given my BAD EXPERIENCE, this dealership deserves to be called out. I may lose my money in the end, but the dealership was not acting in good faith. I was jerked around. I have ALL OF THE conversations documented to show the shady practices of the dealership. Bought 2019 high milage Tundra. Looked good. Told 110 point inspection performed. Tail gate shock was busted, took to tire shop because would ride rough at highway speed and found rotors shot and pads almost gone. Passenger wiper falling apart. What did they actually check? Adding on to my wife's post, I lambasted them in the corporate Toyota survey too. Multiple people at the dealership told me they would make it right. Telling me what I want to hear, doesn't fix the issue. Just makes you look stupid. They don't have the business acumen to have a tough conversation. After reading the reviews of others, they have a history of poor performance and customer service. Paul, Erin, Karen and the rest of the "team" need customer service training desperately. I get you are at a small-town location, but you are still dealing with people. Call people back when you say you are going to. Stop hiding behind your voicemail and be able to own up when you screwed up...it's $900. Questions for your service team: 1. When was the CPO granted for that vehicle? 2. When was the last time your "master mechanic" checked the vehicle out? 3. Is your "master mechanic" checking all of the vehicles out post test drives? 4. How many test drives were there after the CPO was issued? 5. Is it possible that someone bottomed out the car and you failed to catch it? A few for your sales team: 1. Do you always just give a key and say, "your car is parked over there?" 2. Do you always have the buyer remove the sales stickers? 3. Do you always deliver a dirty car? Non-detailed car? 4. Do you have good records of who test drove the car, or do you just let anyone take cars out? Like my wife said, it's not about the money, it's about doing the right thing....much like you claim to do in your Robert's policy of taking care of people and like you say you have for over 60 years. Bottom line for potential customers...go elsewhere if you are looking for a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle or for any sort of customer-based service. This is not the dealership for you. Yesterday the inner sidewall on my '24 4Runner blew out. Called Yokohama about replacement and they said take it to the dealer for inspection and if they think it's defective Yoko will replace it. I looked online before going and found numerous articles about my specific tire having sidewall failure. Service rep spent more time looking up the price of a new tire than he did "inspecting" mine. He said "that had to be hit by something" even though there is no evidence that it was. He pointed at marks on the wheel and said "something hit the wheel there"... All 5 wheels have the exact same marks on them, which are casting marks caused during production. In a sense, they could be used to deny any tire warranty because of marks made during the production process. I have several years of tire specific experience from working for Firestone; a thorough tire inspection involves dismounting the tire and examining the inner tire, he did not do this either. Less than 20 seconds looking at it, "Hit by something, sorry no warranty for you, but I can replace it for $428". That's pretty much what I expected, why warranty a tire if you can sell one? read more

I don't create video's or have a presence on youtube, I've never had the interest - NOT until now = THANKS ROBERTS TOYOTA !!! Please Note: CAPS are used to emphasis only. * I am responsible for two (2) separate Auto purchases from this company. My wife and I purchased a Toyota Prius, and my parents, upon my recommendation, purchased a Sienna. o I whole heartedly regret working with this company. * This COMPANY HAS SOLD MY PERSONAL INFORMATION which has led to relentless, RELENTLESS CALLS from AFTERMARKET AUTO WARRANTY ROBO CALLS. * Service manager does NOT return phone calls, not matter how many voice mail messages are left. * Company representative told me that the wrong battery was in my car, and the difference between 455 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), and 470 CCA (Mfg. recommends), "COULD" have made a difference and caused the "prevent the car from starting in Tennessee, in the middle of June, on an 80-degree day... o Reader: Picture being in Alaska, in the dead of winter, when the temperatures are regularly BELOW ZERO - Basically REALLY cold conditions - this is when the batteries "Cold Cranking Amps" really make a difference, at least with respect to the difference in batteries that I have referenced. * Tech LIED by claiming that a battery terminal was loose. o The shop that installed the battery, installed the battery correctly. I know this, because I checked it myself, as did another person. o I have serious trust issues. When I ask for a tire rotation, I mark the tires. When I purchase brakes, I make sure they are the brake pads that I requested, and not the cheap ones used for "bait and switch". I will always review an alignment print out. I strongly suggest that everyone do the same. o I suspect that the Tech disconnected the battery which automatically cleared all codes, then backed the car out. So the tech gets paid the diagnostic "time", the shop gets paid, and they're off to the next car. So everyone gets paid, and if "you" have another problem, well, it's a brand new diagnostic fee. Now, here is the best part of the Tech's claims: There's no evidence. I can't PROVE that the tech cleared the codes by disconnecting the battery. I only absolutely know that the battery terminal was tight before the car went to the dealership, and I have a witness. But the argument from the dealership was; "Well I don't know how it became loose but it was loose when we looked it". So how do "you" PROVE that he's lying?... So in correction, he is "allegedly lying"... In "my opinion", he is lying. o This would definitely be the first case of "Spontaneous" loosening that I have ever encountered, however, they didn't recommend replacing the battery terminal or the bolt... I can only assume that the bolts integrity has not been compromised, as the battery has only been changed once... * Finally, we get to the end of the visit, where I find a cigarette burn on the inside panel of the door. o I DO NOT SMOKE !!! o MY WIFE DOES NOT SMOKE !!! o MY CHILDREN ARE 9, 10 AND 12... o My wife, my youngest child and I all have Asthma. o We are the original owners, and NO ONE smokes in our vehicles. * The General Manager, "John Doo", does not return phone calls (seems to be a pattern). * Receptionist (on a recorded call), states that she is not allowed to give out the General managers name, or the service Managers name, or the owners name, or anyone else's names... o 'Seems this is "Secret Squirrel" information only... Or maybe they are trying to hide from anyone requesting this information... Why would a receptionist be directed to refuse to provide the managements names?... How many people are upset and complaining?... They can't just be hiding from me only - if "you" are preventing the receptionist from giving out your name... maybe it's just me, but that seems suspicious and leaves me with more questions about this company's integrity, as well as just how many people are experiencing problems. So this has been my experience with this company. I am planning on taking the company to court as I see this as the only pathway for resolution. People need to be wary of doing business with this dealership. I am absolutely disgusted at the unethical & unprofessional behavior displayed at Roberts Toyota. We happened to get the salesman, Cory Southern. While he initially seemed kind, it quickly became apparent that he only cared about his sale. We were told upfront that it was a demo truck with aftermarket mods, sitting on their lot since around September 2023. Naurally, we had a few concerns. His responses to our concerns were dismissive, suggesting we could pay for repairs ourselves. Despite these issues, we still loved the truck. After submitting an application & negotiating, my husband & I asked for a few moments to discuss. However, despite our requests, we were repeatedly interrupted/rushed. I should also mention that when we asked about the price BEFORE submitting the application, we were told one price. When we got inside & submitted the application, we were told a price that was about $11K MORE than what we were initially told. When we started to look at paperwork in the finance office, I asked my husband if we could step out & finish our conversation. Not a minute later Cory came demanding to know why we wanted to take a moment. He tried to hide it, but he was MAD. He took us back to his desk & insinuated WE had poor character. If it's coming out of OUR pocketbook, we are ALLOWED to step away to make a decision. Not sit there & have our character called into question because he's mad about not making a sale. Don't think for one second the manipulation tactics weren't seen. His behavior SERIOUSLY needs to be evaluated by upper management. Looking at past reviews, we're not the first people he's done this to either. The ONLY reason we purchased the truck, was because of the sales manager's deal AFTER he questioned our character & insinuated we wasted his time. Cory was ELATED he made the sale. He should have been! He treated a couple like dirt, brushed off their concerns, questioned their character, attempted to manipulate them AND he got paid to do it! Then had the AUDACITY to ask us for a review so he could "get the recognition." Let me make something VERY clear. Roberts did NOT get a sale that day because of his stellar service. They got a sale because it was a VERY good deal. I was willing to let EVERY bit of that go. But not after yesterday morning. We were told last weekend to call Monday to have another key fob for our truck ordered. On the drive home, we noticed the wheels were rubbing the wheel well. So we wanted that fixed too. We got there for servie & all was well until we went to go pick it up. The gentleman informed us that because the wheels were aftermarket, they wouldn't do anything. I explained that THEY were the ones to do the lift kit & put the tires on the truck. It is NOT our fault that you did not do your due diligence to make sure that the aftermarket mods YOU put on the truck were done PROPERLY. Now we must go pay MORE MONEY to have this fixed. After leaving the service department, I requested to speak with the GM. The gentleman informed me that the GM was not there. I then asked if they had a business card for him. He proceeded to walk around the sales room like he had NO IDEA where cards could be for the GM. Then asked a few other men in the room where his cards could be & they ALL pretended like business cards for the GENERAL MANAGER were non-existent. There is not an establishment, especially in the service industry, where the general manager does NOT have a business card. These grown men LIED TO MY FACE then LAUGHED when I said that was a bold faced lie. For the amount we paid for this truck, I am livid. We were disrespected, taken advantage of, lied to, & laughed at. This dealership prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. I love our truck, but I regret supporting this dealership. I will seek service elsewhere & purchase future vehicles from a different Toyota. The management of Roberts Toyota needs to reevaluate their staff & practices. I went and had a good buying experience. 2 weeks after driving away in my As-is nice looking, low miles vehicle... I was left stranded on the freeway. I have now been without a much needed vehicle for a 1.5 weeks. It WAS a lovely sounding engine. That threw a bunch of warning lights and began a loud ticking/knock from the engine. We've changed Coils $600, Wires, $50, Spark plugs $8 each, fuel injectors $64 each. Still my vehicle ticks and low power. Next to change is either the LIFTERS or The Catslytic Converters. I'm concerned for others who may be convinced of a good deal, become home after trading in a working Cadillac for a ready to break Avalanche. Now, the Avalanche is a 2007, yet all the parts for my engine are 2006 parts. Was my engine replaced?how many milesdoes it actually have? Why cant I solve this problem? So a couple of more thousand down the drain to try and get it running. Thank you for costing me my Honeymoon. We are having to cancel it next month! read more

I purchased my new car from Roberts in May of '24. To say that I am disappointed in how I was treated is a gross understated. I put down my deposit about 6 weeks before the car came in and I paid full price - didn't even try to haggle. I did ask for a few things: 1) order the accessories that I wanted installed with enough time for them to be on hand when the car arrived. I asked to sit down and do all the paperwork in advance so I wouldn't have to hassle with it on delivery day. When my car arrived (on the date expected), I was told that the most important accessory was not in yet, and that one of them should have been twice what they charged me ($162 instead of $81), and the third accessory was installed incorrectly. Because of the mixup with the under quoted accessory, all the paperwork I had read and signed previously now had to be redone. And because it was a very busy night when I picked up, I had to wait around for the finance guy who then proceeded to rush me when I had the nerve to try and scan over what I was signing. Since then, I've been given the runaround when trying to get the missing accessories installed. Today was the final straw - I went to pick up my license plate only it wasn't the specialty plate I had ordered (and paid for), it was the standard "in god we trust" plate. I won't have that crap on my car - sorry. There is literally not one darn thing they have gotten right, and they really can't be bothered to put right any of it. They do not have the first clue what good customer service looks like. Do yourself a favor and avoid these people at all costs. read more

Bought new Tacoma from them online. Paid extra for heated seats and for delivery to Knoxville. When they delivered truck the heated seats were not wired and they took it back to dealer which added some 800 miles to truck before I ever got it. They offered no apology and no compensation for trouble. They rescheduled delivery for 18 days later but had to tow truck back to dealer because driver ran over something and destroyed rear tire. Replaced tire and delivered to me next day. Truck had chip in windshield, broken mud flap and big chunk out of tread in front tire. Roberts refused to address these issues. Took it to local dealer for inspection and submitted results to Toyota Corporate. Roberts sales manager then agreed to pay my local dealer to fix the issues. However, Cackie Roberts refused to replace the damaged tire! She was very mean and offered no apology for any of the issues. I am sorry I bought anything from this dealership and hope these comments help anyone else who is thinking of doing so. read more

My experience with Roberts Toyota started when I saw a 1990 Toyota Pickup for sale on their website. It was after hours so I sent an email inquiry in. After not hearing back, I figured it must've sold, but I decided to call in just to be sure. I talked to Larry Campbell, he for me the truck was still available and gave me a good idea of the condition over the phone. I drove down to check out and, while Larry was busy with another customer, Ed Mills helped me out. Offered to let me take it for a test drive and gave me plenty of time to inspect the truck. Not once from the moment I called in to the time I decided to buy did I get pressured or "sold" on the truck. Just honest, respectable professionalism. I didn't buy the day I visited, but I called in the following Monday to ask if I could take it to an independent mechanic to verify the condition of the vehicle. No problem. When everything checked out, I came back and started talking numbers with Mr. Campbell. After some back and forth we got to a number both parties would be happy with, even though I ended up spending more than I planned to. Here's where they really shine though: I needed to get the truck AND my other back to Brentwood and didn't have anyone to drive my second car that day. They had Erin follow me up to the bank (over 30 minutes away, yikes) and then to my apartment so I could drop one car off and pick up the truck I just bought. It was a lot of back and forth with driving, but I'm really impressed they took the time to help me out when I was buying the cheapest car on their lot. Really says a lot about the quality of the employees that work here. The deal took a minimal amount of time, minus the ride the kindly provided me with, and I never felt pressured. They were so awesome, I had to share my experience: I remember laughing a few years back about the thought of buying a car online. I'll never do that! But I started looking for a car that is not very popular around here (2017 Prius Prime) and ended up talking with Roberts Toyota in Columbia Tennessee over 400 miles away. From the promptly and personally responded email from Steve Learn to waving goodbye to Paul and Mark the delivery team (from start to finish less than 5 days) I purchased the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned and it is shaping up to be the most awesome. Jon Versterheim (Jonny V) was our salesman. He took me through the no-haggle, no-pressure process. Even the guy double checking the figures and offering extended warranty (sorry forgot name) did not push it. Just let me know it was available if I wanted more information. As soon as I said no thanks he dropped it. They were both knowledgeable and efficient. What is hard to believe and has probably made me a customer for life is Jon not even hesitating when I wanted the car taken to a mechanic over 45 minutes out of the way from us for an inspection. He did assure me he was not going to let a car leave the lot that had a problem. The mechanic confirmed that. This added almost 3 hours to the delivery as they waited at the mechanic then brought the car to our home! And then my wife and I were given as much time as we wanted to test drive. All that on a $1000 deposit. Could have sent it back. But that was not a thought! It's a great car for what I need. And I highly recommend the Advanced package if you are in the market. Paul and Mark were a lot of fun, knowledgeable about the car and were not in a hurry even though they were putting in a 12 plus hour day. As I said above, the whole thing exceeded expectations. I am not rating the dealership, seems like it was a really nice one. I am rating the sales rep I was in contact with. I am extremely disappointed, Michael Bullock. I would give him one star if it wasn't for his kind coworker who helped me out when I got there- didn't catch his name. I had scheduled a time to see a car at 5:30, got to the dealership at 5:07. I confirmed earlier in the day that the scheduled time would be okay with him as I knew they closed at 6 on Saturday's and I did not want to be an inconvenience. He reassured me that the scheduled time was fine. When I got there HE HAD ALREADY LEFT FOR THE NIGHT AND THE CAR WAS SOLD!! I am not upset that the car sold, it happens. I am upset with the LACK of communication. I had an hour drive to get to this dealership and gas is not cheap!! His coworker had stated he left when the couple who bought the car were serious with moving forward with the car, so why wouldn't "Mike" have the decency to communicate that the car was sold and not to keep my scheduled time?? It is ridiculous to waste someone's time like that, he should've let me know not to keep the scheduled time as he was leaving due to the sale. Also, when you call in for the operation hours it states they're open until 8 pm during the weekdays when they're open to 7 pm, that should probably be updated. read more

Called to try and get my car looked at on a Saturday. I simply asked if they were able to fit me in for a regular $7,2500 maintenance and have my car diagnosed for any other issues because it's not running right. I explained that I was driving out of state. I was told that they couldn't fit me in, and when I asked about scheduling for the next Saturday was told that "they try to stay away from Scheduling on Saturdays". I am a single mother who works full time M-F and have no extra car or help to get back and forth to work if I have to leave my car for maintenance on a week day. The girl in service was not very flexible or understanding with my concerns. I will definitely be looking for a different dealer even if I have to drive farther to get there. read more

Updated review: When we went to this dealership we were greeted by and talked to some terrible people (manager Anthony especially). We were never going to buy anything from them, BUT Paul the dealer manager saved the deal! He was super kind as well as our new salesman Chris. They were very nice since the moment they met us and made us feel important where as the other guys made us feel worthless. They kept us updated with our deal, they worked out a great price for us, they definitely saved the day! Don't stop here if your from out of state. 2010 FJ Cruiser TRAIL Edition- out the door price 23500. I have my own financing and I'm being told they can't take my money because I'm out of state. "We can't take a wire transfer because someone has our account information" "We can't take a certified check those are two easy to forge" I was approved by my bank in Albuquerque. They told me that they can't except out of state credit union checks. " credit union checks take 2-3 weeks to clear and we would have to sit on the truck" ??? The whole time I was told the truck was being sent to auction today "Wednesday 11/2" so I did my part they failed on their end. How this was handled is purely bad business and for being in business for 45 years it's pretty ridiculous way to treat your customers!! Very frustrated Matt H read more

The service department here is an absolute joke. I just purchased a new Rav4 from a different dealership due to the fact that Roberts did not have the exact one I was wanting, and they didn't know when they would be able to get one. I did try to buy my car from this dealership, but the communication was not great, so I kept looking other places. That's beside the point! I figured I would use Roberts to get my car serviced since I am closer to them (I traveled far to get mine), and I work in Columbia. They were good to work with when I was just getting a routine service done, but when I needed help getting my tire fixed after something getting in it, they did not want to help. I pay for a tire & wheel road hazard warranty monthly (I have a brand new car, so I made sure to get all the things because accidents happen), and they told me they could not honor that warranty because they had no proof of me having it. *note, I even called the company I have the warranty through, and they verified that they are nationwide and any dealership / licensed tire shop could file a claim with them* I tried several times to email them a copy of my paperwork, but they said they did not need it. after a couple days of them being wishy washy, they finally agreed to order me a new tire and fix it. When I went to the dealership to drop of my wheel & tire, I asked the guy (Larry is his name) if I needed to show him my paperwork and he said, "No we do not need it." so I left and went back home thinking I would go back the next morning and my tire would be fixed and they would put it back on my car. That was not the case! I called them later that afternoon to make sure everything went well, and they told me they had called me several times that day to tell me, once again, that they couldn't touch my tire due to not having proof that I had that warranty. AFTER I ASKED THEM THAT MORNING IF I NEEDED TO GRAB IT OUT OF MY CAR TO SHOW THEM AND HE SAID NO. I never once received a call from them and I did not have any missed calls. Maybe they did call, but nothing showed up on my end. I went back the next morning, and I showed them the paperwork. Larry then replied that he needed that paperwork all along, after telling my multiple times he did not need it. He told me it would take several hours to get done, and they could not give me my car back until my warranty provider had paid them. They knew that I worked night shift the night before, and that I could not physically stay up there for 4+ hours (that is why they told me to bring just the wheel and tire the day before so it would be ready when I got off work the next morning). After deciding that I would find someone else to do it because of the week worth of trouble, this man did not even have the audacity to help me put my tire and wheel back in my car. After me asking him to please help me. Thankfully another nice gentleman did help me! I also witnessed this Larry guy be rude to an older couple in line in front of me when they mentioned a warranty was paying for something on their vehicle. The receptionist (Karen) was also not friendly to work with at all, and I honestly did not feel welcome to even call. Moral of the story, if you have warranty's for these vehicles that we pay all of this money for, I do not recommend this dealership at all! They were not friendly, and they were definitely only worried about making money. I will not be back, not to even get my car serviced. I found a different Toyota dealership that ordered me a tire no questions asked, and they had it put on in a couple hours, and they honored my warranty hassle free! read more

Make sure you know these people are scammers. *******KEVIN, DEAN, BRANDON*****I purchased a Lexus rcf used from them. Delivered to my house received it at night. Looked at it and didn't notice anything on the body because it was at night without enough light. and it was described as flawless condition by dean!! After that I woke up and saw the cars true identity. Looked at it and the sun revealed the damage. I contacted KEVIN first thing in the morning and he told me that it wasn't there and it's obviously been repaired from the damage. I took it to the Lexus dealer to get it inspected and they told me it's been hit. And the car also had a popping sound when turning to a drive way. Not even 24 hours and I'm trying to talk to them Brandon, Kevin, and dean. They kept transferring me to different people to make a joke out of me. Because they know that it's been there and they false advertised the whole thing. Make sure you don't buy any pre owned vehicles from them. They will screw your up like they did with me. I have contacted my attorney and I will be moving forward with this case. read more
