Thoroughly disappointed. I was recommended Robert's Tree Care and called to get a quote to have my oak tree trimmed. I called back a few months later (we were wedding planning so things were hectic and I let the person know this when they came out) and the person I spoke with stated they could come the next Thursday or Friday. Thursday came and I heard nothing until late afternoon. He explained that since I'm close to a school they would have to come on a weekend, to which I stated that would be fine. He said it would be that Saturday or the next, but would call the next day to let me know. It's been a few weeks and I have yet to hear anything. When Robert's crew took care of my tree, I thought they had done an excellent job. Problem the first time was that they stood up my father. No call, no show. He drove all the way from Los Banos to Stockton to help me out, and he was stood up. Oh well, the job had been done and all was well. Unfortunately the city of Stockton needs for my tree to be cut 15 inches below the ground. My father spoke with Robert once again about taking care of the rest of the job. After going around and around, they finally settled on a date to remove the tree. Again, my father has been stood up. No call, no show. Robert, If you didn't want the job, you could have at least called. We will be taking our business somewhere else. Robert was very prompt in response, he came out as soon as i asked him to. the assesment he made and estimate included some discounts, and still came up alot 900 plus shorter than the lowest estimate that i had recieved. he continued with advice and suggestions and he sounded very professional that it put me at ease considering we were talking about a massive ash tree and other dead trees, he simplified and explained the process. the work was great , the guys came ready to work since they showed up early and completed the detail with a cleanup . After calling me back right away with a good bid and giving him the okay, then they never showed up! First a call for equipment problems, then something else and finally ... nothing! I had a huge mulberry and palm tree I wanted removed and stumps grinded down. Robert came and gave me a reasonable estimate compared to a couple other services. He also explained it would take a day and a half to complete and his crew comes right in and gets the job done. I decided to go with Robert and couldn't be happier, his crew arrived this past Thursday morning removed the trees that were extremely overgrown down to the stumps. Robert's Tree Service removed the tree safely, even though it stood between our house and the neighbor's house. The workers were professional and they cleaned up the work area at the end of each day. This guy is horrible. I called him for an estimate at a commercial building too remove a large oak tree, or to trim it. I asked him upfront if I needed to get a permit to have it removed and he told me that we didn't. I asked him if he was licensed, and he said he was. I was on the fence of trimming the tree or removing it completely and told him I would let him know, but for now I wanted it trimmed. He gave me a quote for both to trim and to cut. 4 days before the job I gave him a call, and told him that I wanted to remove the tree, and I have made up my mind, he said don't worry about it I'll take care of it, and we'll talk the day I will service. The day of the service comes and when I tell him that I want to remove the tree he becomes really aggressive, and he tells me that he doesn't want to be liable of anything if the tree falls on the neighbors roof, or if something happens. I told him that I thought he was licensed and insured, but he said he didn't want to insure this job. I said the only reason I hired a company to do the job is because I don't want to be liable for any damages. I said i'm sorry we don't have a deal. He then used foul language told me to F--k off, etc, and drove off In the end I wouldn't hire this guy at all. He is a liar, he does not keep up his end of the deal, and i'm wondering now if his entire crew is licensed and insured. I'd be careful, because accidents can happen, and you don't want to be responsible. Be careful especially if your getting work done at a business. read more

I truly did NOT appreciate you guys climbing over MY fence to get into the neighbors yard to finish the work you didn't complete the day before. I didn't hire you, the neighbors did. I called an asked for an estimate and he showed up exactly at the time we agreed upon. I then made an appointment for the next week for them to come and cut down a group of dead trees in my yard. Terrific service from start to finish! Robert arrived promptly to give us a very reasonable estimate, and he and his team arrived early/promptly the "day of." We had two trees to remove (one was HUGE), one large tree to cut back 40% and two large trees to trim and to remove HUGE limbs extending way into neighbors yards. One of the trees to be totally removed was three or more stories high, very dense hardwood, truck 2-3 feet wide. It was endangering two homes, two patios, patio covers plants and two fences. It was incredible the job they did, not damaging ANY of the close-by structures or hedge plants! Team members worked together, diligently, and did the most amazing clean up job imagined. On a negative note, at the appointed time to give an estimate he called to change the date and time to the following morning. An hour before the new appointment he messaged me to move the appointment out another two hours. I thanked him and replied that I will pay another company for the service. Called around, and Robert was the fastest response, the best price I was offered, and seemed the most knowledgeable about regulations regarding Heritage Oak trees.
