Moving to Texas a while back, a friend said "never underestimate a restaurant in a strip mall"…read more Craftway Kitchen in Southlake isn't exactly in a strip mall, but in the outlot of a few big box retailers. We've driven past Craftway Kitchen more than a few times, always intrigued with a 'we have to try that place sometime'. Saturday night was sometime. Taking our chances as a party of three walk in's, the restaurant was full inside, and there were a few tables open on the patio. I generally don't like to eat on patios, because flies show up, etc. Not at Craftway... not sure what they were doing, but there wasn't a fly or other flying bug around. The patio wasn't just clean, it was meticulous. Welcoming too - It felt very much like an extension of the restaurant. Alex, our waiter was quick to bring water and menus. Returning to take drink orders, a margarita was ordered as was a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Drinks were quickly served. Water was never allowed to become empty. Alex asked if we had ever been to Craftway, we informed him this was our first visit. His ask "any allergies?" to which we said no. He disappeared, returning with an appetizer sampling plate with three items - the Reuben egg rolls, crab stuffed mushrooms, and blue cheese chips. All were fantastic! Three entrees ordered, the Chicken & Fig sandwich, Chicken Milanese and the Cajun pasta with Chicken. Food arrived; each entree was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, flavors were amazing. Dessert, shared, was a bread pudding with ice cream, a perfect finish. Alex never let beverages become empty, delivered superb service. The Chef circulated the room checking on satisfaction and chatting with patrons. Giving Craftway Kitchen a very well deserved 5-star rating. The staff did everything right! Departing, we talked about what we will order next time. We will be back to Craftway Kitchen!

Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short.

Once again, this was a wonderful Yelp event. Kendall and Postino's, thank you very much…read more We chose to visit around the time of opening. After noon, you can expect the crowd to significantly increase and it will become busy. We ran into that, towards the end of our visit. With the increase in traffic, it was nice to be tended by more than one waiter. I didn't think about it then, but I would have loved to tip the second person, as well. When going to Postino's, I always try to get something new and they never fail to impress. Drink: The Mockingbird (Mocktail) - bright pineapple, a touch of Italian orange, and toasted almond bitters. This was very good and is something I'd get again. The Board: Brie, Apple & Fig Spread - this is a repeat for me, I absolutely love it. The apples are always fresh, crisp, and juicy. This is so perfect! Prosciutto Di Parma, Fig & Mascarpone - another repeat, I can't go to Postino's without having this on my board. Mushroom & Mascarpone - If you're a lover of mushrooms, you'll enjoy these little bites. I did notice, we did not get the green onions this time around and I was okay with that. They were removed, due to the current outbreak. Great thinking, Postino's! Salami & Pesto - This always closes the board for me, I love this combination. Although, I will add, I think a different type of salami would work best with this combination. West Coaster Panini - (Smoked ham, smashed avocado, arugula, roasted garlic aioli, pickled red onion, Calabrian chili, feta cheese. For my side, I chose the tomato soup, my goodness, was it good. I must say, it is the best tomato soup, I've ever had. It was creamy, packed with flavor, and complimented my panini so well. Also, they add cheese tortellinis to the soup as well. So, good! This was very delicious, the ham stood out and wasn't muted. However, I think I will get another bread next time. I chose the focaccia, it was a bit too much bread for that particular sandwich. I will admit, it doesn't beat their prosciutto and brie panini; that sandwich is divine. Hot Donut Dots - (House made ricotta donut holes with salted butter chocolate, caramel and vanilla glaze dipping sauces.) These are superb and packs a lot in one bite. The cream in the middle is so smooth and full of flavor, but is very heavy. I'm not a cookies and milk person, but this dessert craves a tall glass of milk. They were hot, fresh, and I appreciate the fact that even when fried, they were not swimming in grease. The vanilla dipping sauce was my go-to, of the three sauces. They did well with this dessert, it hit all of the bases. Postino's is a great place to visit with friends, a date, or even as a solo-day/night out. They are one of my top 5 restaurants and I don't see that changing, ever!

Initially I came to take advantage of a deal, however, do know that the $25 board and wine combo is only available Mondays and Tuesdays after 8 PM, and we were there around 4:30. However, despite that overlook on my part, the food definitely did not disappoint! We had an amazing server. She was easily available , quick, and accommodating. My friend had some dietary restrictions and she was quick to ask about them, and make needed modifications without any issue. Extremely kind, and fun to be around, she had some great suggestions for items on the menu. The environment was definitely more relaxed, however, the pace was definitely picking up when we left. As I mentioned we were there right before people seem to be getting out of work, and it seemed like a lot of people are making their way and to enjoy an evening meal or happy hour. We easily got a spot in front, however, if there happens not to be any available, there's lots of parking behind Lush on the opposite side of the road. I'm hoping to go back and try one of the boards, I've had one prior at different locations, but I'm sure it would be just as great here!

When we arrived, we were told our only immediate option was to sit outside in 99-degree heat. Otherwise, we would have to wait another 20-25 minutes for an indoor table. That completely defeated the purpose of making a reservation. It was embarrassing because I had planned this celebration, expecting the reservation to ensure the seating I requested. If indoor seating wasn't actually available, that should have been communicated before we arrived so we could have made other plans. To make matters worse, the dark-haired hostess was dismissive and offered very little help. The blonde hostess at least seemed to understand our frustration and showed some empathy, which I appreciated. A reservation should mean something or if standard does not mean indoor, there should be an explanation. The hostess stated they can't see what you select as far as seating which doesn't seem to make sense. Unfortunately, this experience left us disappointed before our celebration even began. You lost 6 customers today!

I loved how the restaurant itself felt bright and refreshing and did not have an overwhelming amount of decor. It was very relaxed yet elegant at the same time. Our server let us know the owner, who is also the chef, goes out to buy products at the market and chooses the best quality for items to be prepared. This does contribute to prices being a little higher than expected for what the dishes are- but that's to be expected with the uniqueness and tasty ingredients!! I'd say the burgers are going to be your best bet for the amount of food you get for the price you pay. Our food came out at the perfect temperature and the margaritas we got were amazing! We went on taco Thursday and got two steak tacos for $20 and the margaritas were $10 each! I'd say my one critique would be that I wish there were an option to add à la carte items as an extra taco would've been much more filling! Unfortunately, the tacos are pre portioned and an extra taco could not be charged. You can expect to spend about $30 per person (without appetizers). I'd definitely recommend trying this place out just for the for quality ingredients!

Ristorante Mulino does something far rarer. It simply cooks. Tucked away with the quiet confidence of a family secret, Mulino has the soul of a small, beloved neighborhood restaurant -- the sort of place one nearly misses, and then spends the rest of the evening feeling fortunate to have found. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, and unpretentious. Not manufactured charm. Real charm. The kind that comes from people who seem to understand that hospitality is not a performance, but a habit. The food was, without exaggeration, exceptional. Each dish arrived generously portioned, beautifully prepared, and full of the kind of flavor that suggests care rather than gimmickry. Nothing felt precious. Nothing felt careless. It was hearty, elegant, and deeply satisfying -- Italian food with both hands on the table and its heart in the right place. The value is almost suspicious. In an age where many restaurants charge handsomely for the privilege of leaving hungry, Mulino offers portions worthy of appetite, quality worthy of praise, and prices that feel not merely fair, but gracious. A lesser restaurant might rely on polish. Mulino relies on substance. And substance, when done this well, has a beauty all its own. I came expecting dinner. I left reminded that the finest meals are not always found beneath the brightest signs or behind the grandest doors. Sometimes they are waiting quietly in a small family restaurant, prepared by people who know exactly what they are doing. Ristorante Mulino is excellent. I will return -- happily, hungrily, and without hesitation.

The marinara sauce complemented it well, and they were very filling. For the main, we shared a pizza, and they were able to do half margherita. All the desserts looked appealing, but we went with the tiramisu, which was loaded with fresh cream. I could see how hard the wait staff was working, and the atmosphere felt cozy. I look forward to coming back and trying their pastas next time.
