They have been replaced at least twice now and we still have problems. Our son's room shade battery broke for the third time now and we are on a full week of all sunlight in his room with no repair in sight because Michelle sent the repair man to Austin and not DFW!! It is literally a part time job managing shade repairs on our new build shades, which again are only about 18 Months old. It's like 80k plus of stress for a nice looking product that doesn't work and a company that can't even send a repair man to the right address. They have never even offered to refund us for poor product and service. Not once. I would never use them again!! Below is a picture of my son's room. We are on day 8. We lost an entire day to a service man who never came. I actually hired a designer to choose our materials and she recommends the shade store. It's a sham! The material is really wonderful and the patterns/ texture etc but the shades basically break on us repeatedly!! We dealt with service men honestly monthly for the first 7 months we lived here and then were told we must have gotten a "bad batch" of batteries. So then they came out a few more times and replaced every battery all over again. That was last spring. Now we are back to having another shade simply stuck have down and the battery won't charge. We are prisoners to these shades!

After getting a quote from The Shade Store, I wasn't quite sold.  Their initial quote for our shades seemed extremely overpriced for what we wanted and the lack of customer service was a huge turnoff.  After they came and made the measurements, I didn't hear back from them for over a week, even after I called.My husband and I bought a beautiful new home with tons of windows.  Luckily, most of the windows face our courtyard and not the front nor back of the house, which allow us incredible amounts of light but with much desired privacy.  We can walk around butt naked in the middle of the day without scaring people.  After moving from downtown LA, living in a loft, the light was a welcome change.  Even tho we want to keep our home light and airy, we still need to block the sunlight at times in the bedrooms and media room.  We didn't want anything ornate nor technical.  I wanted the shades to look seamless with the white walls.  Almost unnoticeable.  The Shade Store kept pushing us for valances which I hate.  They remind me of grandma's house.  I also only wanted blackouts in the guest room and media room.  I wanted to keep our office and master bedroom open and full of light.  What I'm trying to say is, what I desired wasn't about the cost but more about what I wanted.  And what I want is simplicity.  Marla and John from Budget Blinds actually listened to and came through with what we wanted.  Not only did they come under 1000 bucks less (actually more than that) than Shade Store, the shades we chose are of much higher quality.  After the installation, I can not be happier.  Also, as I'm sure everyone has noticed during these crazy covid times,  any purchase take forever to get.  Weeks, if not months.  Our timeline was about 3 to 4 weeks for delivery and installation and here we are 2 weeks later, DONE!John and Marla are just lovely people to work with.  Kind and honest.  They truly want their clients to be happy and satisfied, and we most certainly are. Ok... just found out that Marla and John are the new owners of this location so you should take that into consideration when reading older reviews.
