In the messages before confirming everything, I let him know I had high ceilings and also sent pix for reference. Now, I definitely understand that it can be hard to tell the scope of a job off of a photo but I did let him know that it had high ceilings. So here's the issue with that - we agreed to one price and when he got here to paint I guess it was way bigger than he understood and asked if I'd be okay with adding $100 to the job. I was taken aback a bit because my budget wasn't to exceed a certain amount, but I needed to get the area painted. While he was here, he had to go to the hardware store twice. One trip - fine, but two is a little confusing because I would think everything needed would have been brought and/or bought the first time. The whole job took about 3-4 hours and initially I was happy with the work. Really, the job looked like it was done well and he offered to put two coats on but I declined as it was getting late. But as I began to put more things away and look closer, I saw light patches of wall that weren't fully covered, paint on trim, dried droplets above entryways, and the section of my window panes was left unpainted. I know painting is a daunting task, especially for high walls, but for the price I paid finding these things was really disappointing.

After the plumber fixed the leak, there was a hole in the drywall--but my home warranty would only cover the drywall rough patch, and not sanding, refinishing, and painting. I reached out to a few painting companies on Yelp and Sun Home Remodeling was easily the most affordable, and very responsive. The owner Romer asked for pictures of the area and gave me an estimate based on my measurements of the room. Other companies quoted 3-4x the price, with a 1-2 week lead time. Romer came out the same day! He was professional and polite, he wore shoe covers inside our home which I appreciated. Romer explained what he was doing and why, and even went to buy paint to match (with a discount because he was a business owner). I appreciate that he passes the savings on to the customer. He was very thorough when prepping the room, and laid tarps down, used professional equipment, and was done in a matter of hours. The ceiling is seamless, I couldn't be happier! If you're looking to support a small business owned by a professional who is hardworking and dedicated, this is the business to support. He said he has 9 years of experience in dry walling and painting, and it clearly shows in his work. We will definitely contract him for projects in the future!

They should have never touched my deck if they didn't think staining it was appropriate. I contacted the company within months of sealant application, and after persistent back-and-forth with Amanda (the manager), the owner (Doug) eventually came out and assessed it and resealed the deck. However, the issue worsened a few months later. Amanda continued the back-and-forth, making me wait for months at times. They now claim the warranty is up, though initially, it was just a few months after application that I contacted them. If a sealant was inappropriate, they should've informed me during the inspection. Even the owner resealed it. If resealing wasn't a viable solution, why offer it? It seems they aimed to run out the warranty. This company is highly unprofessional and won't take responsibility for their work. I've asked for a refund multiple times. Their motto 'Relationships matter more than the brush or the ladder' is far from the truth. They don't care about their work and they definitely do not care about their customers. I don't usually write reviews, but people deserve to know how subpar this company is. I'm beyond disappointed, out $600 for staining that didn't work and destroyed my deck, and now have to pay for a whole new deck. You better believe I will not be using this company to replace it.
