A testimony to the quality of products that Robinson sells. Approximately 30 years ago I bought a mask and boa at Robinson's. To me it was it expensive ($65 back then) and I debated spending that much money. BUT 30 years later with many Halloweens, Mardi Gras, other parties and friends borrowing the mask and boa - they are still in excellent shape. What seemed expensive 30 years ago breaks down to approx $1 per wearing. AND I still always receive compliments no matter what costume I am wearing with them. Thank you Robinson's

Around Halloween time, this is a purely Halloween Store. Cramped aisles of costume after costume from boys, girls, men, and women. Then there are accessories, masks, make-up, and other Halloween items. Almost bought a Ghostbusters costume, but it wasn't even close to authentic and didn't have the backpack/proton pack. I checked Google Shopping, and there were a ton of better costumes at cheaper prices. The place was pretty disheveled, but it was before Halloween, so I understood. But, if you need a costume right away (and can't wait for delivery), this is your spot. They have a ton of options.

Seriously feels like I walked into the year 1930 here..

A costume shop like NO OTHER, this place is both cool and scary. Like seriously scary. It's like walking into a horror movie, they have super old carnival games with noise coming out of them every couple minutes or so like music and voices (creeeeeeepy).. The place is like one huge haunted attic of someone from many many many many years ago that has just been discovered by you. What seems like old theatre costumes and wigs/props/random accessories line up every inch of the place, with hidden corners and crevices filled with more stuff. Most of the wigs seem to have been worn/tried on but the good thing is that you can try any wig you want and there's a huge mirror to do that-- no frills. The back is lined with costumes you can rent, but they also have a lot of new packaged costumes (ones you'll find anywhere else around Halloween) at the front. It's pretty hard to describe without being there, it's just that unique. If you're in need of a costume, an idea for one, or you just like to visit haunted places, I would def say come check this place out at least once, it's kinda like a museum..Though I did get a couple things I probably won't come alone next time haha yes it was THAT creepy to me! PS: I couldn't really find the place when searching 'costumes' on yelp but happened to pass by (right across from mitsuwa market).. A hidden 'gem' I guess you can say.

"Katrina..?" "Yeah!" "Where are you?" "I'm in the military uniforms room! ... Where are you?" "I'm next to the aisle of headless monster suits!" We continued this call-and-response, finally meeting somewhere between the pile of white go-go boots, the wall of hats and the creepy seamstress station, at the Lawrence Welk Show dress mile, tucked in the back. The only thing that made me sad about Robinson Beautilities, apart from the part where they don't want you taking pictures, is the fact that all of the costumes and most of the accessories are rental-only, which means that none of those spangles or feathers or epaulets or beads were going to make it home to their rightful place in my costume trunk in the attic.

Don't let the name confuse you. The first time someone recommended this place I questioned the recommendation but no more. This is the best place to go for costumes, accessories, and random dress items whether you're planning for burning man, Halloween and just about everything in between. Walk past all the packaged costumes in the front to see the extensive collection of rental costumes. One area I've found them to be great for are items needed for costumes from various eras - 80's prom to 50's madmen. I haven't left here disappointed yet. Service is friendly and accommodating but can sometimes be slow particularly if there are a lot of other people here. Also while generally well organized sometimes you need to root around a little to find what you want. Just plan to go with a little bit longer than you might expect and you'll be fine.

I am reviewing this establishment as someone from out of town doing window shopping who likes oddball weird things. And woah, does this place fit the bill! With their assortment of dusty/vintage/off-label character costumes, I felt like I was in a B horror movie from the 70s. It was so cool! They also had vintage arcade games as well (warning: the Terminator pinball machine and the skeeball machine both ate our quarters). Lastly, let me review the store clerk. We walked in and he was just sitting behind the counter quietly and eerily staring off into space like he himself was a dusty old costume. Highly recommend if you are a hipster or photographer or instagramer, this place has a lot of interesting things to wonder at.

Eva was awesome! She can really help you put a costume together!

It can't possibly be Halloween time already is it?…read more And while those of us who are real enthusiasts about that time of year always crack a smile, sometimes this is getting a little more and more ridiculous. Before you know it, they'll start doing Halloween right after the 4th of July! In any case, this is perhaps the second best Halloween store under the Spirit brand on the west side, usually coming in second to the granddaddy of them all, on sepulveda near lax. In any case, the theme this year is pretty cool, and they have some fairly nice animatronics. I still think last year's was a little more scarier. What do you think?

When I went in, I told the cashier about it and she asked me if I wanted to grab a different one. I told her no because I didn't want to deal with the same product discovering more problems later on. She asked "Do you have the card ending in..." as she was looking for it on my receipt I told her I paid in cash. She confused me and I thought I paid with my card so I told her to hold on and I went back to the car to get my wallet. As soon as I went back to the store I saw the cashier on the phone. Standing there confused I thought she was on the phone with a customer. It turns out she was talking to her manager MATT. I found it odd as I was standing there waiting for her to finish her conversation with the manager. She then tells me "Yeah we can't give you cash refund, we can only refund you back with any type of card" I told her "I literally just bought it a few minutes ago and I gave you cash" She goes "yeah I know but there's a lot of scams going on right now" So in my head either she thinks I was trying to pull a fast one on the store or both the manager and the employee is doing something shady. That detail on their return policy is not even indicated on the receipt or not mentioned when I check out. I tried to reason with her that I literally just bought it in cash she can just give me the cash I paid her with. If the store is worried about scammers then I don't understand her logic at all why she wouldn't just give me back my money. I had to give her any type of debit or credit card to get the money back. Now I had to wait for the stupid bank to clear to even get it. I was pretty upset and I told her "So now I have to wait for the bank to get the money?" She nonchalantly says "Yeah probably within 3-5 business days. Like wtf? Either the employees from that particular store are stealing HARD CASH in their registers, or this company is downright just taking HARD CASH payments and using the company credit to return refunds. This doesn't make any sense. This leaves a bad impression for the company brand. I have been a Spirit Halloween guest for many years and this is the first time I've ever heard of it. I understand there have been more scams over the years, but to insinuate that towards me while I'm returning a defective product on behalf of this store is unacceptable. I was just trying to return a pos product the store is selling so I can get my money back. But it turns out this company is full of greed. The staff needs to be investigated. It felt like I was the one that got scammed here. I found it really odd the cashier phoned the manager and discussed something when I briefly left and came back. What did she need to talk to him for? If this was their policy she should already know. Store should ONLY accept card payments NOT CASH--if refunding back to a card is your ONLY method of refunds. Put up a sign that says "Card Payment Only" or at least reference this to every guest that pays with cash every single time. When they check someone out paying with cash, tell them PRIOR that refunds can only be processed through a card.

She has been dancing her whole life and I know her size so when asked I just said her size. Different brands are a little different but I can pretty much tell by looking at the leotards what will fit my own daughter. Anyway the male sales associate was very nice and the right amount of helpful, not hovering but checking in. It was a few minutes later a female sales associate took over, one I had never met before and started making comments about sizing and my daughter's body. I was shocked when she said "but she has a long torso and a BOOTY" my daughter is 7 years old and in baggy school clothes- what on god's green earth would ever possess an adult to comment on a child's butt is beyond me. I let it go in the moment and redirected the conversation away from body comments and went to the dressing room. The associate was very present and I'm sure she was trying to be helpful but at some point she said it again "well she has that BOOTY" I clapped back in front of my daughter because I wanted her to know that the horrified look on her face was warranted. Adults should not be commenting on children's bodies full stop! We had to leave the store without buying a leotard. It's one thing here or there when clothes are being tried on people might say weird things but this was completely out of line. I allowed my daughter to buy two accessories to distract her and bring light back into her energy field. When we left my daughter asked if her butt was big and if the lady was making fun of her. I had to have a whole Ted talk with my daughter after leaving the store. I have been coming to this store since I was a child and the past few times have been not so great but I never expected this. We will not ever be coming back and we will make sure to warn other families. This type of sexualizing children is unacceptable! I am appalled. Train your staff!

I wanted to check out the lay of the land, this being the former Joann's (Fabrics, before they went out of business) and often a Spirit Halloween location prior to that. Honestly enjoyed Kreepy Halloween and while it was a little chaotic, over packed with product and the week of all hallow's eve, everyone does their part to assist and keep this store up. A lot of the Joann's signs are still up and/or very visible, which is to be expected with such a short turnaround time. I believe this store physically opened here in August and additionally there is a Kreepy Halloween in Los Feliz as of October, second location. Customer service is personable for sure, however the line was a little confusing with not the best clear signs to guide you or markers to let you know where the line physically starts. They had me go up past the first few registers not in use to just behind a gap where employees enter and exit... I made sure there was room and didn't stand in the way of the opening, but no indicators, marks or instruction for this that I could noticeably see... Other than that, they did have up to four to five registers open and the line moved quickly. Reasonable prices and parking both underground and on the ground level at the Riverside-Woodman plaza on the corner of the streets of the same names - diagonal from Notre Dame High.
