All the instructors and staff are really attentive and great with the kids. Even when a little one might be having an "off" day or something, they really know how to build them up and get them refocused again. At the start of each class they talk to them about concepts like what it is to persevere, be consistent, show confidence etc. (which we really appreciate). The class schedule and the ability to drop in to any of the class times they have for his age group has been such a plus for us as well! Sometimes the week can get pretty busy and just knowing we have that flexibility to be like "We can't make it today but we can make it on Thursday & Friday!" definitely helps take a little pressure off. We're really happy with the program and we hope the staff know how great they're doing in being positive role models for the students!

Her first couple classes she was very hesitant and kept looking up to see if I was watching, but slowly you could see her confidence building. She just had her sixth class last week and earned her first stripe on her belt! She came out with such a huge smile on her face. She comes home and shows her brothers all the new things she has learned. I see her regularly practicing in her room and though she won't admit that she is excited for her classes, you can see it in her demeanor and eagerness on the day she has class. Sensei Abe is truly awesome and really cares about his students and his teachings. I initially signed up for a few sessions through Southgate recreation, and after they are done, I will be signing up with them directly so my daughter can continue learning from Sensei Abe.

We loved how much she learned, both physically and mentally. Mini warriors really helped her figure out how to move her body and what she was capable of. Then little warriors started honing her skills with a mix of jiu jitsu and shou shu. We liked that classes were 2x/week and that they got a mat chat every week where they learned how to protect themselves from bullies and how to be respectful and responsible. The coaches are great with children and earn their respect instantly. Their style works both for skilled, competitive kids and for the ones just doing it for fun like our daughter. The building and mat area are so nice and clean, it doesn't feel dark and dingy like other kids martial arts places we tried. We unfortunately had to move away after 2.5 years, and one of the things we miss the most is our daughter going to Warrior Martial Arts. We were looking forward to her little brother starting there too, it would have been perfect for him. I would definitely recommend it to any family looking for a martial arts studio for their kid.

Head instructor Jason Mills with instructors Bernard and Hailey bring their highly certified jujitsu skills to the mat teaching adults and children. When I travel to Northern California at times, I make it a point to come and visit my northern extended family in Elk Grove GJJ because I know I'm going to learn under the same teaching methodology and I'm going to learn something new. Their facility has the same floor and wall mats in Torrance. This facility is clean and they have a professional staff. If your looking for a great jujitsu studio to learn self defense then Elk Grove Gracie JJ is the place you want your kids to learn as well as men and women who want to learn how to survive a ugly street encounter.
