When she was done she picked up the coupon and I proceeded to pay. I checked my receipt and did not see where she had taken the $5.00 off of my order. I asked her about it, she looked at my receipt and confirmed that she did not take the discount off. She told another Associate of her error and the Associate told me that all she could do is empty my cart and void my order and then re-ring it. She told me this would take awhile as they needed to ring out every other customer in line first. She was very rude and acted liked she didn't want to be bothered, so I said forget it and left. I went to my car, and when I went back to return my cart, there she was on her smoke break! Apparently that was the real hold up! She actually said "Sorry for the mistake ma'am" and just puffed away! This past Saturday I went to the DG in West Windsor, NY, gave the cashier my coupon and she rang up my order. When I asked if she took the $5.00 off, she immediately realized her error and called for help. The manager advised her of the process to follow to correct the error. She immediately corrected the error, and apologized profusely and corrected the error. She did NOT have to void out the whole cart as the cashier in Hallstead claimed she would need to do, she simply did what the manager advised, I went on my way and she continued her job. Very sad that the cashier in Hallstead was too concerned about her cigarette break and not providing good service.
