We used Robyn last month for our wedding announcement photos and we could not be happier!! Obviously, wedding pictures including 4 dogs is somewhat of an odd request for typical wedding photography but it was exactly what my husband and I were looking for!! I have honestly never before paid to have pictures taken, so a 2 hour sitting sounded daunting but Robyn was very patient not only with the quadropeds (doggies) but with this fidgety human who does not enjoy sitting still.... I see the other review commenting on the price (or questions there of, wth?) and yes a 2 hour session is $500 which includes 2 high quality edited photos (with digital rights) and you can individually purchase as many additional pictures with digital rights for a reasonable fee per photo or as a package. We went budget friendly on our entire wedding but went ahead and invested in great photography. Remember that "Friends" episode when Chandler tries to get engagement photos taken with Monica and every time the camera is on him he can't help but make the weirdest faces - yeah that's me (and apparently my dog too). That said I've worked with Robyn twice now and she manages to get amazing shots of all living creatures two legged or four legged despite all of their percieved hang ups and uncontrollable facial contortions. I like watching Robyn work cause you just see her creative juices flowing and you have to just hold on and go with the ride and in the end the pictures will speak for themselves. If you are looking for pet photos, family photos, or corporate head shots think out side of the box and go with Robyn. IF you can't think outside of the box, she'll take care of that for you too. If there were 6 stars, I am pretty sure that I would give Robyn and her assistant, Nicole, 6, but I will stick with 5 since that seems the conventional thing to do. Robyn took pictures of my miniature schnauzer, Dusseldorf, and myself during her Pocketshots session. Worth EVERY penny!!! The pictures turned out fantastic! Additionally, they somehow managed to get my stubborn, bossy, hyperactive schnauzer to do what they wanted him to do! For those who have or have had a schnauzer, know this is no easy task! I saw her on a blog that I follow on facebook stating that she only charged a $50 sitting fee for 30 minutes, and donated half of the money to a pet rescue organization! So, I got pictures (printed memories) ANNNND I felt good cause I was giving a donation!? Heck yeah!!! Let's do it again! I loved the results SO much, I even wrote an email to my Vet's office asking them to help get the word out! Her pictures are not traditional, but boy are they awesome!!! Robyn is an amazing pet photographer. I have watched her pics on fb over the years and would have never imagine that I could get my own dog pics Her pics look so museum quality. I could never imagine as a rescuer being able to afford such a marvelous photographer. And I told myself that she has so many people waiting in line that she is busy and that I could never ask her. I knew she has a big heart but I did not know how big. One day out of the blue she texted me about something and then we talked and then she offered to take pics of my imperfectly perfect dogs. I did not know how to load them all and take them to her studio. Well Robyn is a problem solver and she packed up her bags and her props and showed up at the sanctuary. She donated her whole day, her talents and her expertise. She made our discarded dogs looknlike million dollars. She is talented. She is kind. And she knows how to capture their personalities and their spirits. I want to print all those pics and have a museum gallery of my own. But we will leave that for now. Robyn is extremely professional and talented! We've known her for about six years, and her work has always amazed us. She possesses a unique charisma and ability to capture the essence of the animal she's photographing. In our experience, our four legged child, a tea-cup yorkie named Asher, has only been photographed by Robyn since he was five months of age. Every time we have visitors over, it never fails, they immediately compliment Asher's pictures! Honestly, she does a stunning job, not the typical "pet picture." Robyn is hands down amazing-whether for maternity shoots, pics of dogs in rescues or awkward family pet photos she does it all. She is a true dog whisperer as well as asking up front what you expect and what any concerns are. How she got my 2 sharpei pups to act somewhat normal during a shoot, I have no clue. Robyn is a fine, yet very pricey photographer for all things pets. Having said that, she has close to no experience with kids. Asking a 1 year old to pose a certain way simply doesn't work. Using dog toys with children simply doesn't work and frankly is unsanitary. Robyn isn't forthcoming with pricing for her 'accessible' Pocketshots. She simply claims,"I don't want to overwhelm to the customer." At $180 per digital photo beyond the one photo included in the session, we didn't find this 'accessible'. We felt misled by this bate and switch tactic. Bummed by the session. Bummed by the follow-up. Won't return. read more

DO NOT USE HER SERVICES!! Terrible customer service and she got extremely mad and defensive when I asked her what was included in the $500 price for 2- hours. All I did was ask her simple questions because I believe everyone should be on the same page with expectations so there are no surprises, but obviously she works differently. I do not see how asking what is included in a session constitutes such terrible treatment, even if I did ask several questions. I am absolutely appalled. read more

Robyn is a true genius behind the lens! I was drawn to her by her talent and her love of animals. The experience was great. That is, until it was time to get our photos. Granted, we were only able to buy a teeny-tiny amount of prints (even though they were all fantastic) and given that she's very busy, it took months and months to get our prints. Is that the norm? Who knows. So when we did finally get them, her logo was nowhere on the prints either. Is that the norm too? Who knows. Perhaps it's that she's busy. Perhaps that just happens when one doesn't make a bigger investment. Perhaps i emailed her one too many times. Who knows. I still boast about her every time someone sees her photos and comments on how unbelievably fantastic the shots are. She's a true genius indeed. read more

I was referred to Robyn Arouty Photography from the Houston Humane Society on Facebook. They shared one of Robyn's awesome "Pocketshots" events that would benefit the HHS. At the time, my husband and I had just added a new addition to our family (puppy) and decided to take part in this event not only to for charity, but to receive AMAZING pictures with our pup! Gifted doesn't even begin to cover it. Robyn approached the rescue group I volunteer with and offered to do a photo series to highlight our adoptable adult dogs. The photos were just the beginning. Robyn conceived an incredibly cute theme, "Sweet Dogs", and she and her assistants hand made a series of candy accessories the dogs wore in the photos. The props were amazing, from Swedish Fish necklaces and Hello Kitty headbands to Skittles bow ties everything was adorable. As for the photos, they are nothing short of amazing. I was present for seven of the thirty photo shoots and was amazed when I saw the photos. How she managed to capture great shots of all of the dogs, who were NOT sitting still and cooperating, I will never know, but she did. She captured their individual personalities and created a true work of art. And, the photos are proving to be extremely effective. In the first few weeks of the series being public inquiries have been pouring in on these dogs. Two have already been adopted and four are on sleepovers with prospective families. Finally, I can't say enough about Robyn's kindness, compassion and PATIENCE. Many of these dogs were very challenging to photograph and several are extremely shy. Robyn never lost her patience with the dogs or the humans, nor did she lose her enthusiasm for the project. read more

I reminded her about my order from my shoot and she wrote that she is busy and extended the amount of time that it takes to get the pictures. Really disappointed and she is in it just for the glory. I saw Robyn's work 4 years ago and thought she was amazing! She had taken a photo of a dog I had rescued in a cute pink chair. This dog was in foster care so I was not there for the shoot but was so impressed with the way she captured this dogs spirit. A few years later she took a family photo for my husband and I and our two dogs. She was kind enough to find someone to do hair and make up for me and made us both feel so welcomed in her studio while I was getting ready. We loved the photos! Just this past Monday she did a Sweet Dog shoot for 10 dogs at the shelter where I volunteer in hopes to give them a better chance at finding a forever home. On top of offering to do this for us, she had a donor that wanted to cover the sitting fee too!! We were all just thrilled as we knew this was such a great opportunity for these dogs and for showing off our shelter. The publicity we have received has been amazing. And the best part, Robyn was a joy and so easy to work with and all 10 dogs and 8 volunteers agree!!
