It is inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. It has a great mission! Here is the frustrating thing. The hotel advertised itself as having A/C. When we entered our room is was roasting. There were two fans in the room. Obviously, they knew the A/C wasn't working. There was no one at the front to complain to so we just had to deal with it. You shouldn't advertise yourself as having A/C when you don't. It was in the 80s when we stayed and our room felt like a furnace.

Which is fine because you can pay attention to the tour guide. Its was strange because you can still feel his spirit, just like when I visited Gracela nd. Toward the end of the tour there is a area they let you take photos. Over all a great hour spent. The gift shop is not huge and overwhelming. You can get stickers, mugs, shirts, key chains, and LPs (records for you younger readers) I opted go for the umbrella that the drops on it turn purple in the rain. My boys and I were just running some errands around River Falls when we noticed a sign that said…read more"U-Pick Blueberries". I have been seeing these signs for years but never made it out to Blue Ridge Growers to actually pick blueberries. Since it is kind of a lazy Friday I decided that it would be a good time to go. It is about 6 miles out of River Falls off of Double M. Don't kid yourself picking blueberries is not as easy as you would think. The bushes are small and they like to hide behind the leaves and branches. I think it took us about 20 min to pick a pint which was $3. This place is pretty laid back, I had to hunt around for someone to explain things to me but once they did I was up and running. They have a lot of blueberries and also Raspberries but they were not ready to pick yet(Beginning of Aug)

We we're told the outdoor tour was the same stops you just walk outside in between. This was very good to know for the future! I'd definitely consider doing their downtown Minneapolis tour. My favorite stop was Afro. The dishes were very unique and tasty! We also sampled beer, cheese curds, chocolate, popcorn, chicken skewers, gyoza, and cucumber rolls. I don't drink beer but they provided a root beer and a ginger beer that were pretty tasty. I appreciated the substitutes.

If I could give negative stars about ArtSpace, I would. I can't say this to enough people…read more I was a tenant at ArtSpace for many years, specifically at the Northrup King Building in NE Minneapolis, and the way my tenancy ended completely shattered any respect I had for the organization and its managers. I have had some experiences with bad managers in housing and jobs, but these guys are number one, as far as the worst I have ever encountered. I lived in NYC for a while and at least there, people were honest with you, even when it hurt. But, this wasn't just a lease ending--it was a cold, impersonal process marked by silence, avoidance, and a complete lack of basic decency. I contacted them months in advance of my lease running out, trying to understand my options and plan responsibly, and was met with cold silence until they finally told me to leave. My emails were ignored or met with vague, unhelpful responses. There was no real commitment or communication, no effort to engage, and certainly no willingness to treat me like a human being who had been part of their community for years. At Northrup King specifically, the management experience was especially frustrating. The building manager was consistently unresponsive and dismissive, making an already stressful situation far worse. Instead of providing guidance or even basic clarity, interactions felt curt and indifferent, as though tenant concerns were an inconvenience rather than something worth addressing. In talking with other tenants about their experiences at Northrup King, I found that many had encountered the same cold treatment from the building manager, and it was not uncommon to hear people describe the manager as having personal vendettas against certain tenants. When I asked for additional time to move, I was immediately met with threats of eviction rather than any attempt to work with me. It later became clear why: they had already lined up a new tenant. Instead of being upfront, they chose to stonewall me, leaving me scrambling while they quietly moved on. The lack of transparency was not just frustrating--it felt deliberately deceptive and personal. And not to mention how painfully obvious it had become that they had rented out my space BEFORE telling me my lease was up. Smooth. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was asking for basic respect: clear communication, reasonable notice, and a conversation about possible solutions, including relocation within the building. None of that was offered. Instead, I was met with indifference and silence until I was forced out. Artspace markets itself as an organization that supports artists and fosters community. In my experience, that image is deeply misleading. When it came down to it, I was treated as disposable--someone to be pushed out as efficiently as possible once I was no longer convenient. Organizations reveal their true colors by how they treat people when there's no financial incentive to do otherwise. My experience with Artspace suggested that administrative efficiency mattered far more than treating a longtime artist with honesty and respect. If you're considering renting from ArtSpace, be aware: the supportive, community-focused image they promote does not reflect how they may treat you when your lease is up. When it mattered most, I wasn't treated like a valued member of a creative community--I was treated like a problem to be ignored... until I was gone.

If you are considering donating to this multi-million dollar organization, please reconsider. It was fun to learn about the history of Foshay. It was a bright a d clear day and we were able to clearly see spectacular views of the airport and downtown St Paul.

They have 1 elevator that goes straight up to the 30th floor. The details on the doors and around the building were amazing. Once you get up to the 30th floor there's a small museum where you can learn more about the tower. Then you take a few stairs up to get out to the observation deck. I will say it's pretty tight up there. Not ideal for big groups that can't separate. Each direction has a look out otherwise you can just look through the bars. For sure a cool place to visit at least once.
