I needed a beard trim. Bad. I looked like I had stumbled out of the woods after being dropped there by unloving parents and left for dead. I had learned to survive and joined a pack of wolves. They took me in as their own and I learned to hunt and survive. But in real life I just took to Yelp and found this place close to home. Not many reviews but the ones that were there were positive so I decided to stop in and get cleaned up. The space is awesome. Old Detroit sports memorabilia adorned every inch of available wall space. It was quite the spectacle. My barber, who's name I cannot recall, was great. Spent some quality time with my facial overgrowth and I came out looking like Al Borland from Home Improvement. Oddly enough this is a good look for me. While I was in the chair I decided to get a haircut as well. That went as smooth as the beard trim. All around quality at Rochester Barber Shop. Be advised that this place is CASH ONLY. Normally I hate that but everything else made up for it. It's cheap as all get out too. $17 for a haircut and beard trim. Guys, go get yoself tightened up here. It's truly awesome! read more

I cannot begin to explain how good everything is here! I've gotten haircuts at barbershops all over the country and so far not have been better than this place. Dusty, was so thorough and so knowledgeable it was very impressive. We shared decision-making on my haircut which was the best way to do it I was very impressed with the results. Very clean location very knowledgeable staff as you can tell and very professional. Also, the price is right. If I was ever to be back in Michigan I will definitely come back here again and again. Just stopped by for a haircut here cause I couldn't get into my regular barber in time... The haircut is 14 bucks before tip. Felt like there was a pretty huge lack of attention to detail. The barber asked me what I wanted and I told him and I had some pictures of what my hair usually looks like. He kind of ignored me. Overall, the cut turned out okay, a little uneven at parts. You get what you pay for I guess. Also, I know we don't go to the barber for a conversation or anything...but it was oddly silent. Felt like he didn't make much of an effort to even talk to me. Never even told me his name. Would have been nice to have a little bit of small talk at least? Anyway, probably won't be coming back, but it's not a bad place if you're in a jam. This place is slick. I came her as I didn't want to spend more than $40 at a salon. It is located the mini strip mall inside the building on Main Street. There are two barbers and 6 others waiting for a cut. On the walls are all neat knick knacks and Detroit sports memorabilia. They have the large old school barber chairs. They look like 1950 circa. And of course there is hair on the floor. They usually have 3 barbers but one guy had to take off today. The haircut was great! Come here as it is worth it. read more

Ever since Great Clips cut my son's ear during his second hair cut ever, he has not sat still for another, let alone let a clipper get near his ears....... Until now. I took him here today, Joe cut his hair and not only did he sit still but he also let him trim by his ears. Joe was great with my 2.5 year old and he gave him a great cut. I think my son liked feeling like one of the guys instead of going with mommy to a salon. We will definitely be back even though it's a bit of a drive, the service is worth it. read more

This may be the best barber shop I ever went too. It really reminds of the place my dad took me, when I was growing up. The prices are very reasonable, and the haircuts are great. They will even give you a shave! I have been going for about six months now and never got a bad cut. My last cut was by Mark, he is great! I've had my haircut in every chair, each cut was as slick as the last. I say this after years of coming here, Brian has created a great atmosphere and he is great with my boys...especially with my youngest who refused a haircut with scissors for nearly two years while going there (thank goodness that phase is over). Love this place. Real 50's feel. Mayberry R.F.D. on T.V., lots of local sports stuff on the walls. Toys in a box for kids to play with, while I get my haircut. Always get a great haircut. My first time in this barber shop the owner cut my hair asked what i wanted and when he was done and turned to look in the mirror and asked what I thought I was hoping this was just a bad dream. I had whitewalls on the sides, longer on top combed down and cut off at the hairline lopsided. I must have raised my eyebrows when I said it looks crocked because he said "don't raise your eyebrows its's fine', I had asked for a faux hawk that one of the barbers on duty hair was cut like I even pointed it out to him. Yes I tried someone else there they were really good, the next time i went he was off that day so will try one more time. read more
