Danny the barber is a very nice guy but he did NOT give a good haircut to me on Sunday morning when I went in. I asked for a 0 to a 1 on the side and cut a quarter off the top. He did not fade in the hair even though I had made it clear (multiple times) to fade it in. He proceed to cut almost 80% off my hair on the top. I was unsure if he knew how to fade hair. Since Danny turns the chair opposite of the mirror, its hard to see the progress of your haircut. When I went home to look at my hair, it was even worse than I expected. He did not fade the sides and it looked more like a skin fade to a 2. The top looked messy and everything looked unfinished. Best way to explain it was that my hair looked like an unfinished bowl cut which was not it. There was uncut hair everywhere. Unfortunately, I had to go to Great Clips right after Danny and the Great Clips stylist gave the look of "what happened?" The Great Clips stylist had to finish the job that Danny could not. If you are looking for a buzz cut or bald look, then this is the place. But if you are looking for something that has fade, then I would not recommend this place. I would not be coming back here again. It's so bad, that I would want a refund.

Waiting times can be long I once waited up to a hour just for my hair to be cut. Reviews elsewhere show multiple barbers in the shop however when I went those multiple times there was only 1 which was Sam. Also the price is $30 for a haircut which is extremely overpriced for the bad quality haircut I received should be at most $10. I believe the reviews online for this place are either fake or they don't know a good haircut.

I just moved back to Michigan from Chicago and was in need of a consistent and professional haircut spot. After getting completely butchered at Headquarters, I was referred over to Forefathers by a family member and had the best experience there. Their staff was incredibly friendly, experienced and flexible. The establishment was well designed and up to date with a great vibe. They were quick to sit me in a chair and paid close attention to my particular needs for a cut, shampoo and hot face towel with head massage. I have gotten my hair cut for years at a cheap chain barber. My wife heard about Forefathers and I figured I'd give them a shot. I made an appointment online with a stylist who could get me in on a Saturday morning. Rachael recommended a new hair style for me (which my wife loves), she did not push product on me and she is great to talk to. She is very professional and does a great job on my hair. On a side note, the review from Francis R. is crap, she has a personal beef with Rachael and has written nothing but mistruths. The place has a great vibe, everyone there is very friendly. read more

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had. The hours are great, and I love being able to pre-book my appointment. I had a friendly greeting as soon I walked in, and was immediately offered a cold beverage. My appointment started on time. I was impressed by the attention to detail for my haircut, and them making sure I was getting exactly what I was looking for. At the end I was offered some recommendations for products based on my hair, to help style it the way I wanted every time. You might pay 50-100% more for a cut here than other local barbershops, but you'll receive a 200% better cut and service! Jennifer was great and did a awesome job explaining how to best pull off the style I was looking for. Not only did I leave with a great looking haircut but it has continued to look great even in between cuts. Haircut, shampoo, scalp massage, hot towel, straight razor... they do it all. The shop is clean friendly and has a cool vibe. But Zac's the best. He takes his time and it's a great experience every time.
