Myself and my two sons have been going here for haircuts for the last 4 years or so. They do a great job! Katie and Shawn are my go to hair stylists. However, when unavailable we've had others cut our hair and they did great jobs as well. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They offer you a drink while waiting which is a nice touch. This place will cancel on you on the day of your haircut and not replace you with another barber so why build a relationship when they don't respect you they do cut good hair. I'll give them that but again it's a relationship and if you don't respect me then you can't have my money. read more

This is the third barbershop I've visited since moving to Michigan from the east coast a few weeks ago, and the two previous botched a simple fade. I saw reviews for Forefathers and figured to give them a try, so I booked with Amanda. Walked in and was promptly greeted by friendly staff. I was asked to sign a waiver, which due to the fact they use straight razors is a completely valid request. Amanda absolutely knocked it out of the park, it looks fantastic! From her professionalism, to asking questions in order to understand what my issue is with previous barbers, to her friendly personality, I have no doubt that I'll be returning regularly while I live here. read more

Followed Kate S to her new location- from lady janes. She has been cutting my hair the last 5-6 years. Excited to try here - closer to my house. Made appointment. Upon arrival a "gentleman " handed me a page full of rules. Had to sign a waiver AND they took my credit card to keep on file. Who does that today ? Plus the waiver reads - if you miss an appointment for any reason you are charged full price ! Was very happy with cut from Kate - identical to last 6 years. Was offered a $5 1st time customer coupon. The same haircut $30 at lady janes- $50 here. Not sure my head can justify the extra $20 read more

I grew out a year & half mustache & had all sorts of fun plans for wearing it to events for the holidays 2021, w/ the plan of getting rid of this ludicrous thing come the new year. So this was my 3rd trip there w/ big facial hair, the two first times went good, & they were the only place to ever touch my mustache. On my third trip I called beforehand & told them I required someone who could work w/ big mustaches, they said no problem. I went to get it tidied up 2 days before a beard competition & I told the stylist keep the length, keep it ludicrous, clean it up, & even it out. So immediately the stylist hacked one side of my 1.5 year mustache down to a 4 or 5 month mustache completely ruining my length. It broke my heart as my mustache wasn't easy to grow out & deal w/ on an everyday basis. Long hair takes care, & I did my work, & I feel like they set me back big time. Even further, they didn't even make my mustache even, I had to go back to get it evened up. I am so upset they took my length. They called & apologized after I left & offered a refund, which is cool but my style which I worked on for a really long time they screwed up b/c the stylist didn't listen to what I wanted. Very very disappointed. Edit: when I received the apology call the receptionist said I should've said my cut was for something special so they could have gotten me a expert mustache person, but I had talked to her on the phone multiple times & told her I needed someone who knew how to cut a mustache, & she put me w/ someone who didn't. Then she tacitly blames me for not asking for quality? I thought that's why I was over-paying in the first place. I am so pissed off at forefathers crap operation. I look like shit. read more

They charged me the full amount ($70 for a shave and trim) for an appointment I missed and Ashley was very rude when I tried to work it out to keep me as a customer. Went there a while ago... Getting a haircut every 2 weeks... Great atmosphere, and great vibe... One day i got a call about 60 seconds after i left...it was the owner, and he told me that they rung up my haircut wrong and if i can come back and pay for the $20 difference.. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? A REGULAR CUSTOMER ? IS THIS WHAT THEY TEACH YOU IN BUSINESS SCHOOL?? a business mistake is a mistake and YOU eat the cost instead of alienating a good customer who was also buying beard products from you.... I went here just recently to get a hair cut and a beard trim. This was my first time ever trying out a higher end hair grooming establishment specifically for men. The stylist that took care of me goes by the name Jennifer. It's hard for me to put into words just how great a job she did. I came there looking literally like a caveman and left looking like one of those guys that came from "old money" in Titanic. Suffice it to say that I felt like Captain Morgan when I walked out of the door. She lined me up perfectly and even went step by step with me on how to recreate the styles she gave me on my own going forward. I was even offered a free beverage almost as soon as I walked through the door. They made me feel like I was a long lost friend they hadn't seen in years within minutes. I will definitely be going here for all further grooming needs from now on. I suggest you do the same. read more
