There was plenty of space to sit on couches, sofas, high chairs, and regular chairs with tables. The music was cool and not too overbearing, even though I wasn't familiar with this type of music. After drinking the Kava shot, which was on the house with Marcy, I felt a tingling, numbing sensation on my tongue. After about 10 minutes, I did notice my back pain was a little bit relieved n more relaxed. I will definitely return to try out the Kratom.

Unfortunately, my experience changed after my relationship ended with someone who was friends with the staff. I was told by Marcy ( one of the owners) I was no longer welcome there, despite always trying to be respectful. It was disappointing to feel like I was being judged or excluded because of a personal relationship that had nothing to do with how I conducted myself at the bar. I understand that friendships exist outside of business, but I believe a business should remain neutral and treat customers fairly. Being asked not to return because of a private breakup left me feeling hurt and unwelcome. I truly appreciate the good memories I had there, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope the business considers keeping personal relationships separate from how customers are treated in the future.

I have been wanting to try kava for years and finally it happened! I've read about the calming and…read morerelaxing effects of this tea and it sounded like something I would enjoy (& need) in my very busy life. When I entered, I was immediately greeted by the friendliest staff member. I asked a few questions and was given a lovely introduction to the tea and kava culture. Flavors were offered but I went for it straight. I was expecting a hot drink but this one was served very cold. If you've ever taken diatomaceous earth as a supplement, kava tastes exactly like that. I am so grateful the server cautioned me that my mouth might feel numb because I experienced that within minutes. Unfortunately I couldn't stay too long but I loved the chill atmosphere and welcoming vibes inside Green Turtle. It seemed like many regular patrons hang there. I definitely felt relaxed for a few hours after having kava. It was a very pleasant feeling. Whether this was true or a placebo effect, who knows! I will be happy to return next time I'm in the area.

The three girls that were working were so loud talking amongst each other was over stimulating I couldn't even concentrate to place my order. Then they turned on music and began to sing. I enjoy music as much as the next person. I'd rather of heard alley cats than what I was experiencing today. It's very echoing inside. Not the previous pleasant calming experiences as before. Had to leave and eat in my car instead of enjoying the prior experience. Maybe the new owner could figure something out. The product was still really good though. Update: Wow I drove up the street to eat my bowl in peace, a police officer came up to me and said there was a call about a suspicious person (meaning me) because I walked back inside after I received my order to look at the menu to make sure it was correct because of the ruckus and walked back out. I was going to sit and enjoy my bowl but the music was too loud.There wasn't anyone else but myself in there when I was ordering. The employee girls were loud amongst themselves. It's been awhile so I stopped in this morning on the way to the beach with my little girl. Ambiance was a bit awkward and rushed today, even though there was barely anyone inside. I ordered a smoothie and a few of the little treats, those are normally my favorite. The smoothie tasted good and I shared it was my little girl. The treats were okay. The peanut butter and the express yo self both tasted pretty fresh. The brownie batter had a really sour flavor. I will have to give this place another try in the future, something was definitely off today.

My only issue with the food was the breakfast potatoes--they were noticeably undercooked and still had a raw crunch to them. The coffee was fantastic and came out quickly, which was a nice surprise. The service was also impressive. Despite working behind a very small counter, the team moved efficiently and kept everything flowing smoothly. The one thing that gave me pause was how the coffee was served. It came out without lids, and while customers were leaning over to grab their food, they were talking directly above the uncovered cups. I'm sure no one intended anything by it, but from a guest's perspective it wasn't the best look and raised a small hygiene concern. A simple change, like placing the coffee on one side and food on the other would be a much better aesthetic. Overall, Luma delivers great food, excellent coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere. With a small tweak to the coffee service and a little more attention to the breakfast potatoes, this would easily be one of my favorite breakfast spots on Flagler Avenue.
