Marsh burger
Abdullah A.

Good food! We came in for lunch during the birding festival. The majority of seating is at the bar. The bartender/hostess helped give us recommendations on the menu. We ordered a lot of food. A very large quantity. I got the marsh burger which sounds funky but really hit the spot: 1/3 lb bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms. The side of coleslaw was big, creamy but not too heavy, tangy with plenty of mustard seed. We got cheese curds and deep friend portobello mushroom pieces to go with the meal, both well received by all. As is customary ona Friday, one of us ordered the cod fish fry. I had a few pieces of the beer battered cod (order came with about 6 smaller pieces), and I was impressed. One definite limitation in the menu is the lack of vegetarian options. My wife had a grilled cheese and it was not good, the bread was way too thick. Overall our meal was better than I had expected and we all left satisfied and extremely full.

This is the food I got it is the cod I bit one one before i took the photo

I like this spot on my way to Little Green Lake. Great food and a nice Bloody Mary on the deck overlooking the Rock River.

A good experience over all. We visited on a Sunday as we were celebrating my mom's 79th birthday…read moreearly by exploring the Horicon marsh area. I live in Madison and she lives in Green Bay so we like to meet some where in the middle and find neat museums or events to visit. Well Mom wanted to visit the Horicon Marsh "Explorium" which we did. I would recommend. After we were looking for someplace local for lunch and found this pub in the town of Horicon. I was a little disappointed that the menu wasn't more Irish for an "Irish" pub but it was a good selection of Wisconsin American pub food. Burgers, wraps, pizza, fried apps, etc. looked like a large selection of beers and White Claw type alcohol drinks but as we had long drives we did not partake. I had the cheese burger with tots to share and Mom had the black bean burger. We were happy to see a couple of vegetarian options on the menu as Mom sometimes struggles with this. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Mom didn't want to sit at the bar because she is short and all the stools were tall. We instead were recommended a table in a sort of half partitioned side room. The stools were still tall but they had foot rings so Moms feet didn't dangle. It was also quiet enough we could talk easily vs. the bar area. Food arrived promptly and was well prepared. My burger was cooked perfectly and Mom's bean burger was served with sautéed mushrooms on a toasted bun. Both special requests. My tots were a big hit with Mom and I for being super crunchy but not over cooked. Value, our entire meal with several soda refills was $21. I think that is extremely reasonable. Note if that staff ever read this. I always try to pay when out with my Mom (especially when celebrating her b-day). But she's a stubborn lady. I've been paying admissions and souvenirs the last few trips to museums which I did again at the Explorium. So Mom insisted. I hope she tipped you well! Only complaint please add one Irish dish. I'd recommend "shepherd's" pie (really farmer's pie as lamb availability/price might not work). And more potatoes!

Every meal my staff and I have had at Danny Boys has been great. The burgers are excellent. If you…read moreare ever nearby, I would highly suggest stopping in to have a great meal. The staff is very nice and fun to be around, as well.

The deep-fried queso cheese curds were fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the deep-fried pickle chips, which were crispy and full of flavor. The Bang Bang Shrimp Salad was excellent, with fresh snow peas and cucumbers, and the Thai dressing added just the right amount of flavor and zest. We also ordered the perch dinner with sweet potato fries, and both were very good. The only item we would not recommend was the lobster bisque. It came out warm not hot and It lacked flavor. It seemed to be missing something that would have made it more enjoyable. All of the portions were generous, and we definitely felt we received good value for our meal. The servers and restaurant staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. We would recommend this restaurant to others. Plenty of TVs throughout your watch your favorite sporting event. Being on the water on a beautiful summer day made for a peaceful setting. There is tons of seating available, including tables, booths, and seating at one of their two large bars, making it a comfortable choice for a variety of dining preferences.
