Disastrous meal. I got the same dried out shrimp as a previous review stated. Grits were like over cooked polenta. Some weird salty braised meat on top w a smear of bad bbq sauce on the side. I grow the same lettuce in my garden that looks better than what I was given. Idt a sawzall would have gotten through the mutton my companion ordered. I know how to break down meat & I've never seen a lamb chop cut like this. The toddler is a whole norther story! OMFG. I was really looking forward to this evening. Bad all the way around. Oh ya, them tables are disgusting too!

I'm so confused...this place seems to be doubling as a daycare? Two shrieking children are here and appear to be the children of one of the servers. The other server is wearing a child on her back, and there are multiple large toy things in the way. In addition to that bizzareness, the food is bad. The burger seems to be a pre frozen patty, no flavor. The shrimp and grits are a tiny portion of four shrimp with a sliver of grits cake. The grits are the only decent part. The shrimp is very over cooked, as well as some dry little fish cake of some kind. How this place is so highly rated is beyond me. It's awful. After receiving the food we've been ignored and I think it's because they know how uncomfortable this situation is.

Our group of 9 had an excellent experience at Rock Sea's. Starting with great cocktails and wine with two charcuterie boards, perfect for 9 people, which included crispy bread, cheese, meats and pickles including pickled ginger. Then a round of delicious Caesar and grilled peach salads. A variety of main dishes came out at the same time, which has been an issue sometimes with our big group. Mains included shrimp with a slab of deep fried grits, pork roast with grits, steak with balsamic reduction, fried chicken with dipping sauce & fries and even a yummy hamburger. Our servers were very friendly & attentive and showed their true appreciation to everyone. It's a small local place that did a great job taking care of our large group. I give Rock Sea's FIVE STARS!

I was in such a slump for a couple of days and my husband forced me to go out in public for a meal. What a treat... The food, artistic vibe and the friendly owner and waitress really made my week and put me back on the right track. Rock Seas is such a great treat! An absolute must try!

At one point my girlfriend and I were walking from the outside courtyard where the dinner was taking place toward the inside of the restaurant, innocently looking for the restrooms. Some employee with a beard, without saying a word, aggressively steps right in front of us to block our path, as if we we were two homeless people trying to walk in off the street. Doesn't ask "can I help you find something"? or do anything that a cordial person in the restaurant business would do. He just stares at us with a stupid smirk on his face. Seriously, clown? After a couple of awkward seconds, I ask where the bathrooms are and he finally points them out to us. What's worse, at the end of the night, my niece was leaving with her husband when another female staff member rudely told them they couldn't exit directly out the parking lot (even though it was the same entrance where people came in at beginning of the party) and actually grabbed my niece's arm. My niece told her "don't touch me." This staff person then went inside the restaurant and my niece heard the employee screaming in anger. Incredible that this is how their people treat their customers during a huge event. The owner should be completely embarrassed by their employees' unprofessional and rude behavior. They might want to get their employees some anger management training or better yet hire new ones that have experience in the hospitality industry. Until then, pretty sure we can get good meatballs and lasagna some place else that doesn't treat paying customers like garbage.

The look is very much a country cafe vibe, yet somewhat upscale too. The lunch outside was so enjoyable. The space and garden is delightful. Seating is far enough apart so you don't feel cramped. I started with the soup of the day which was wonderful. Then I chose the Rock Fish Tacos and oh my goodness, some of the best tacos ever. I liked that they didn't automatically fall apart when you picked it up. Plus the flavor and tenderness of the fish was spot on perfect. For dinner during a subsequent visit sitting inside at a cozy table was equally enjoyable. Four of us had a tough time choosing entrees as everything on the menu looked appealing. We started and shared the cheese board which was fabulous. Local cheeses were the highlight and ever so good. For my entree I chose the Gnochi with vegetagles. I very much enjoyed the overall dish but the gnochi were somewhat sparse and not that good in texture. Surprisingly that didn't impact the overall impression as everything else in the dish was satisfyingly delicious. It was an adequate portion and the price point good for the quality. We went through two bottles of wine, one suggested by the server. It was spot on. This is a delightful restaurant and if you're in the area definitely make it a stop for either lunch, when available, or especially dinner.

The brioche bun was so very good. The burger was cooked perfectly and too much for me to eat. I brought half home. I also order a salad that came in a bowl. The dressing was so bland. I asked for more dressing and it didn't help. Some of the lettuce was the size of my hand and nearly impossible to cut in a bowl. The leaves were also brown. I pointed that out to the waitress and got a quick "sorry". Not sure if the info was conveyed to the kitchen. There were peels of cucumber and carrot. Again too long to eat gracefully and hard to cut because of the bowl. I looked around and realized everyone who ordered salad, also requested salt and pepper. Shoulda thought of that. My friend order the fried chicken sandwich, again on brioche and it was great. I ate some of her fries (mental note, order fries, not salad) they were so good and definitely abundant. The hibiscus iced tea was stellar. The restaurant has a full bar, many TV's and a very large outdoor seating area on a small lake. The inside is spacious and well decorated. I will probably go again if I'm in the area. Just no salad!

Prices are incredible, food was tasty, and service was excellent. There's daily beer, wine, and cocktail options for $6 ish; we tried the Aperol spritz and draft beer. Food options include a $10 burger, $3 fries , (more for loaded), wings at $1 each with optional sauces, etc. We tried the meatballs - three large veal, pork and beef mixed with fennel pollen, smothered in a delicious tomato sauce, a dollop of whipped ricotta and two slices of grilled bread- $9! We also sampled chicken wings, plain air fried, and with both optional sauces, a hot honey and a sweet chili soy sesame . All very good served with a miso dipping ranch style sauce (not necessary). The fries come with ketchup and we were asked if we wanted aioli - of course that's a yes but sadly, it lacked flavor or depth. We sat outside facing the lake, enjoying the sunshine and people and dog watching to our heart's content. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the happy hour menu soon!

The kale and cabbage salad was innovative with a fermented garlic vinaigrette dressing with crispy kale (never had that before) and marcona almonds. Because they didn't have gluten free pizza crusts, got the asparagus, green garlic and speck pizza toppings over polenta, which came out sizzling hot in a pan. It probably was great as a pizza, but not great over polenta. The pizza's looked large, so instead of getting a pizza that would only be half eaten, ordered the radiatorre pasta with pork ragu as the second entree. The pasta was fresh, substantial and delicious. The ragu was good, not too saucy, but a little bland. It could have benefited from some fresh basil and a little more... oomph. The local wines - barbera and granache - were not our favorites so we ordered a bottle of sangiovese. Fairly pricey - it all came out to over $200.
