    Clam chowder
    Angie H.

We stopped in with about four of us to eat brunch one day. They were only serving their lunch menu and the lovely lady who I chatted with on the phone prior offered to service the Sunday brunch menu. It's a very civil menu, but it's absolutely delicious. We were early in the day around noon so no one was really there. I ordered the chowder and one of the girls wanted to split an egg sandwich with the tater tots so we did that and the other loved her egg and ham breakfast. She says that she has all the potatoes cut fresh, including the hashbrowns. Now I did order a steak from there a few days later and was not very happy. It looked like one of those yeah I just would order the steaks. Everything else was great even the soups are made from scratch.

The owner was the chef today and the food was delicious. Mac n cheese, Inferno fries, yum! Burgers were packed too. Daughter had wings and she liked them--Said a little too buttery but from my view they looked amazing.

Our family had a Rehearsal Dinner here, everything from planning, staff and the Food and Drinks were on point. We had about 35 people, Gelje, the owner was easy to work with and let us go in prior to our event, which was on the patio, and decorate however we liked. Kelsey, the waitress and support staff did an excellent job taking care of our family and friends. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers and dinner. I would recommend this restaurant.

I'm working here from out of town. Looked at the website and the Rueben sandwich looked nice. What I got was basically a bread and sauerkraut sandwich. There was two little scrawny pieces of meat on there, and you can't even taste it past the bread and the sauerkraut. Very disappointing.

Freshly prepared food, strong drinks and cheerful service. They are attentive to details: Blue cheese burger came on a pretzel roll-yum! Fish tacos camo with pico de gallo And guacamole! Roasted vegetables were delicious with the steak. A reasonably priced hidden gem!

We arrived in town late and appreciated that they were open past 8:00! Amber took great care of us. Since it was late we had soup and snacks. The wings weee great. We got the sauces on the side. The Irish spring rolls were hearty. The loaded potato soup was good, but puréed which surprised me. The Hubbs got the French onion - and the bowl was really too much! It was very loaded with onions. The bowls are seriously about 7" - that's a lot of soup. The brews were cold and they have an extensive list. Overall a great stop.

Food quality + good service = Stopped in for a late lunch while traveling from The Bay Area up to Fort Bragg. We had our dog with us so Yelped restaurants that allowed dogs and found this gem. We sat in the large, covered patio area and received prompt service by Allison. Cheerful and friendly, she brought out several boards to show us the specials and the draft beer offerings. Three of us had the Pulled Pork Sandwich on a delightfully soft pretzel bun garnished with some coleslaw and a slice of tomato. The other person ordered a BLT on grilled sourdough. The French fries are very good as is the fresh side salad with citrus vinaigrette. You can't go wrong with either choice, or so what I did and get smaller portions of both. Inside is typical bar seating and lots of tables. Outside is a large covered patio which is dog-friendly. If you're near Cloverdale, you should stop in and check out this great restaurant!

Nice restaurant and super friendly staff. I genuinely enjoyed the small talk with the staff, as they were warm and nice. The clam chowder was very good. The rolls were very blunt, and the mustard was very spicy. I did not like the combination, and needed some more flavors. The fried chicken was nice. The chicken was fresh, and nicely cooked. The cornbread that came with this dish was delicious. Overall, they needed a bit more seasoning in my opinion.

Husband and I were driving to the Mendocino area to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. Just an overnight stay. We decided to stop in Cloverdale for lunch and husband found the Railroad Station Bar and Grill on Yelp. We arrived on a weekday around 11:30 so there were only a couple of people at the bar. The bartender was also the hostess and waitress. We sat a table of our choosing. I had the BLT and husband ordered the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches included salad and fries. The prices are only a bit less than Bay Area prices but, boy, they give you a lot of food! Probably twice as much! We both enjoyed our meals and polished them off. The salad probably could have been a bit fresher but not a deal breaker for me. There was a nice buttery taste to the bread of my BLT. The bartender/waitress was super friendly. The place seems to be a regular hangout for locals as we heard the bartender call many of the patrons by their first name. The place isn't super fancy but comfortable. And there was a big screen TV playing a repeat of a basketball game from ESPN, but not distracting. I would return here to try other dishes if I ever drive back this way.

Amazing garlic fries, burgers and coconut shrimp. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

I never waited in the beverage line for more than a few minutes. Food was ordered at the bar and servers ran it out. Several TVs inside along the wall, a large projector screen on the east wall, and a 65" outside all displayed the game. The sound was good too. I had no difficulty hearing the match over the noise of the crowded venue. Water was supplied next to the bar and was self service. It was constantly kept full. I never saw it empty. When the bar served so much it ran out of glasses they already had plastic cups available. Overall, great spot full of great people. Well done.

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.
