We had a blast and caught big fish. Mike and Annette are the Consummate hosts. They are so sweet , kind and helpful. Mike is THE Man. He helped us so much, right down to baking soda. Ha! I'll start by saying that our family has been camping at this park for about 20 years, one week every year. It's had its share of park hosts and over the years it's improved aesthetically a lot but been hit or miss as far as our experience with the hosts. A couple years ago we swore we'd never be back because the hosts were essentially harassing us over every detail of our group (we tend to take about 10-15 camp sites, which is more than half of the park. This year was the best ever. The hosts, Mike and Annette, were AMAZING. They knew about our experience in the past and knew to give us the ground rules up front, and did it in the nicest way. They were constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time, they hosted movie nights for the kids, drove the train around the park with the littlest ones, and just made sure our experience was amazing. We already booked a week for next year and can't wait. We hope Mike and Annette stay for many years! read more

The small container cabin was cute, the $125.00 cleaning fee for 1 night was ridiculous, outrageous, & absurd! Just 2 people for 1 night, no coffee supplied for the coffee pot, we were expected to strip our bed and take our trash out on top of that. The "S'mores" kit was a cute touch, 2 small packages of graham crackers, 4 large marshmallows but guessing 4 people are supposed to split the 1 Hersheys candy bar provided. Thinking I need to get a job as their cleaning crew! Rip off! Annette & Mike, the managers were very nice though. read more

Booked a site here and it was an absolute nightmare. We ended up going down the road to stay in a hotel because nothing worked . You are not allowed to leave once you get there. Horrible!! read more

Wife and I recently stayed a long weekend here. The hosts were very personable and made us feel welcomed. Had some other family members visit during the day without a problem. We definitely plan on returning in the future. The place is very quiet and clean! There is plenty of grass for the dogs to enjoy! read more

This is a really nice RV park and it kept in pristine condition. We have stayed here several times an we really love the place. Mike and Annette are always very friendly and helpful. The office stocks several items including beer and ice. As a result you really never have to leave the park. We would highly recommend this RV park. read more

I hate to even share a review because then the park will always be full and I won't get a spot ever again! This park is our absolute favorite place to go. It's so well kept, right on the water and close to a few great wineries and a pub. The camp host Mike and Annette are the best ever!! Treat you like family. Very helpful and very hands on if you need anything! I can't say enough great things about it. We go several times a year and would go more if we could!!! This is a nice park and well maintained with a great view of the Colorado River below lake Buchanan Dam. The sites are level and full hook ups are functional with no current electrical issues. The last site or tent site has great shade coverage but is adjacent to a cattle guard. All the water front sites are back in with the front of the trailer facing the water. A newly installed sprinkler system along the park road made it tricky to back into your site without possible damage to sprinkler heads. A better sprinkler placement would've helped. The restrooms are adequate but hot. An AC would be a needed addition. I highly recommended stay read more

I booked a weekend at this lovely little RV Park for some much needed rest and relaxation, and it was the best decision! It's right off the main road, but quiet, and Buchanan Dam is less than a mile away. There are plenty of trees for shade, the entire campsite is incredibly well kept, and the park hosts are very kind and helpful. Every spot is waterfront, so you can't get a bad view. The fishing is good if you bring your own gear, and there is also a little boat ramp. They offer rentals of kayaks, paddle boats, and a few other things. The park is pet friendly and my dog absolutely loved it. There are tons of ways for kids to have fun, too! Each campsite has electricity, water, and a picnic table. Even when the park is full it doesn't feel cramped. You can't beat the sunrise or sunset over the lake, and all the quaint little lake-side homes make me feel like I'm sitting in a Thomas Kinkade painting. read more

We stayed and celebrated Christmas lol my husband bought me a ruckus we definitely do apologize for riding around on it at the park. We will DEFINITELY BE BACK ! Beautiful quaint Rv park right on the water! A hidden gem! The only thing is I would say is if getting in the water I would use a float. I'm a chicken and there was too much plant life at the bottom. It's great too if you have a boat or rent a boat, they have a dock. read more

We've been staying at Rockaway RV for a few years now. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED TODAY. We called on January 19th and made two reservations for Feb 14th and May 22 made our payments as always. Today we called and had to cancel our reservation for February 14 due to the camper needed service and it wont be safe to drive. The lady my wife spoke to today charged us 10% to cancel a Paid reservation. Another issue as it turns out the space we confirmed was open when we scheduled the February 14th and Requested. They implied that our space is not guaranteed. Gave us the impression if someone whom they preferred would take over that spot. Not sure what's going on here. But this is not at all the type of service we have grown to receive or expect. So SAD as we have had many great times here. Seems CAUTION is what's needed going forward. 10% charge with more then 3 weeks notice is ridiculous. Hope to hear from someone regarding this issue. read more

We loved this RV park! The people were friendly and helpful and the park extremely clean and well maintained! We happened upon this when the state park was full....so glad we did! What a hidden gem! This review is rather long but I feel it is important that everyone knows about this park! We have been living here since Sept, while our house is being built. Some of these things may seem silly, but when you have spent $4800 to live here, you expect to be treated like everyone else, but that only happens if your friends with the hosts and owners son. We have a toy hauler and we haul a Polaris ranger with us. The first day here the host Bill, drove down and started yelling at my husband that we could not have our ranger on our site. We explained that we had to unload it and had to put it somewhere. He demanded we get it off our site. We left for a long weekend and took our rv, Larry (host) asked if he could book someone in our site while we were gone. Would like to know who pockets that side booking. Come to find out, he has some side bookings deals with some guests that stay here often. When we got back, I walked into the office and Bill (host) stated "I don't want to have any problems with you"! I stated he was the only one who had a problem. Everything is rolling fine. Hosts are nice... bringing our packages to us, texting that we had packages, driving by and saying hi... then a week ago, my husband pulled down to our rv with a 8' flatbed trailer to pick me up, which we had done before, Host Larry comes racing down in his golf cart and says " what do you think your doing?" My husband said "picking up my wife." Larry states " can you not read the sign?" Husband... " yes it says no boat trailers past here! This isn't a boat trailer!" Larry proceeded to argue with my husband! Since this disagreement Larry now no longer lets us know we have packages and leaves them sitting outside. Today I filed a police report because some of my packages were stolen. He now charges our nephew and wife that have been coming every weekend ( for 7 months) never charged them but yesterday they charged them $5 a car and then today they charged them $5 a person. When my nephew questioned Larry... he said that's the rules and my nephew said "yesterday it was $5 a car and today a person?" Larry stated it is now! I texted Larry as soon as they told me they were charged and his response was this has always been the way it was, read the rules ( um not until you got mad Larry). The owners son is rude and turns his back to you if you are not his friend. There are strict rules about no parking on the grass, yet their friends are allowed to park on the grass. Not allowed to have more than 2 cars, yet their friends can park two cars. There are rules for some and rules for friends! Three nights in a row the dock lights were left on. The lights shine into your rv if you are close. On the third night I texted Host Bill and they texted me back where the switch was and I could turn it off. Bill is a creeper. He walks around your rv early in the morning. No clue what he is looking for, but why is he lurking around peoples trailers? Creepy! Last but not least.. It is expensive, with rates going up! You can go across the highway to Big Chief and get better rates, nicer people and a pool. The road noise is awful! Your trailer backs up to a loud road. I have been to a lot of rv parks and this by far is the rudest and ugliest camp hosts I have ever dealt with. read more

RV-ers BEWARE! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN TWO PETS! After many enjoyable visits to Rockaway Park we encountered very poor customer service which we really did not expect since we had been there so many times and had good experiences before. We last visited in July 2020 with our 2 dogs and since then acquired a puppy. I made a reservation yesterday for camping starting today and Mauverine did not ask me the pet question. If she had I would have said I have three dogs now, and then she could have proceeded to tell me that they have a very strict two dog limit. When I received the confirmation details via text I noticed that they said there was a two dog limit so I called in to inquire what arrangement we could make for my third dog and was informed that no arrangement could be made for the dog, we would be turned away and they would not be refunding my money! Further they would not take responsibility for failing to ask the pet question when the reservation was made. When I asked again for a refund I was told the owner would not allow it. When I asked for a call back from the owner I was told "I'll give her your number. If she wants to talk to you she might call you." And that my friends is what you call Poor Customer Service! So being that this is a private RV park they can basically do whatever they want including keep your money even if you were not well informed. Beware of the "owner behind the curtain who can't speak"! Pretty shady I think. Besides that they have goathorn stickers (even though they are pretty stuck-up about their grass) and the adjacent road is noisy (45mph speed limit) and there's no shoulder (if someone lost control of their vehicle they could hit the trailers)! We won't be back! read more
