I booked a Rocket Van for 7:30 pm on 1/9 from SEA to Port Townsend. When I arrived in transit in San Francisco, I had a text from Rocket saying my Rocket van departure from SEA had been moved forward to 5:30 pm. My flight from SFO did not arrive in SEA until 6:30. When I called Rocket and asked either for my 7:30 scheduled van or for a refund, I got an argument. I am still disputing the credit card charge with Rocket, nearly a month later. Travel from Seatac to Port Angeles was perfect, however on the trip back they didn't send me a confirmation of being picked up, I waited for 4 hours at my hotel and no one showed up. Tried to cancel one leg of a round trip. Couldn't do it on the website because there were three options for a refund-- (1) get a credit in a 'wallet' toward a future trip with their company, (2) ask a representative to contact me, which could take up to 60 days, or (3) have money refunded to my credit card. Problem was, only options 1 and 2 were possible from the website. For option 3, I had to call, which had to be between 9-4 Pacific time zone (though that was not explained on the website). Called. Got a very personable customer service rep who said she cancelled the first leg of the trip and would refund the payment, but less a $20 "administrative" fee--apparently because I had contacted a human, which as stated before, was the only way to accomplish the refund. Then, I received email that said the trip had been cancelled--all of it, both legs, not just the first leg, and the credit had been added to 'wallet'. Then, I emailed to ask for confirmation of the reservation for the second leg and to inquire about the mistaken way my money was refunded. After two days, still no response. I called. Was told a refund to the credit card was now impossible. When I sounded perturbed, she said the refund could be made to the credit card but not until 10 days after our travel. Got three new emails. One says were booked for 2 legs. Next one says we cancelled both legs. Last one says my request for a refund has been received. This is not fun. read more

Spends 4 hours just driving around the peninsula before you're en route in to the airport. Bus is packed and very tight seating. Not efficient at all. Dispatch should have known to book two shuttles but they put the money in their pocket instead of the customer experience. Only thing enjoyable was how pleasantly nice the driver is. read more

We were traveling from SEATAC to Sequim, round trip with our Search&Rescue K9. This company is absolutely wonderful. The drivers are extremely polite (we had Christian on our first leg and Lloyd on the return) and they know the area well so they are able to adjust rest stops to accommodate passengers as certain places closed during COVID (thanks a lot Starbucks). They also load & unload bags and they come right to your door for pickup. It was easy to make the reservations and the ladies in the office took the time to explain the process, especially for our dog. Rocket Transportation comes highly recommended from family and friends who use this service regularly and we are happy to make the same positive endorsement. They do seem to be improving a bit. I'd agree with the earlier reviewer that if you have an alternative, take it (maybe public transit will eventually link to the Kitsap Shuttle in Poulsbo, but yes door to door is convenient). They just aren't particularly professional. Frustrating when more than once I've asked them to turn on the wifi they advertise and drivers seem a bit put out. One guy indicated they he'd try but 'I don't know if it's charged up.' It turned out fine, but just turn it on at the start of the trip and post the password for all to see. At the least, don't make people ask for you to dig it out and turn it on as if it's an inconvenience. I've not experienced anything like almost missing my flight. You may arrive at the airport many hours before your flight though. read more

Convenient! Comfortable! Pricey! The good ... friendly dispatchers ... easy to make reservations ... easy to change reservations! The bad ... driver did not come to the door (I own the fact that my cell phone volume was off and I missed his call and text) BUT ... IF the driver had only come to the door instead of sitting in the shuttle texting/calling, we would NOT have missed our ride and NOT have had to extend our stay and scramble to reschedule Rocket and United reservations!!! A HUGE inconvenience and lots of frustration that could have been avoided ... David!!! The good ... we were able to reschedule Rocket and United (just 1 day postponed) and our driver, Gerri came to the door! ... and did so at each stop AND was extremely pleasant ... asking about our comfort ... communicated clearly our plans for each stop and destination. At our drop off, I thanked him for coming to the door and he says "it's what we do" ... ummmm maybe David needs to be retrained to GO TO THE DOOR! 1st, Rude customer service. I called to cancel a reservation, and the woman told me to call back later. Ok.... 2nd, Unacceptable refund policy (which I have yet to find any mention of anywhere on their website). I was told there would be a '$30 cancellation fee', and it wouldn't go back on my card for 60 days! Why? It took 3 seconds for the $ to be taken out of my account when I booked it. I had used this company a few times in the past without much issue, but my most recent interaction was so poor that I will never consider using their services. I will also warn others to steer clear. Well over a month before my flight from SeaTac, I reserved a ride from Agnew to the airport. Knowing that the shuttle can have random delays and issues with traffic, plus seasonal increases in time required getting through SeaTac security lines, I wanted plenty of time available so missing my flight for a business trip wasn't a possibility. I requested that my arrival to the airport be earlier than their standard time for my plane's department time (about 2 hours). Just put me on an earlier shuttle. No problem, the scheduling person said, we'll do that. 24 hours before my ride, I found out they did NOT do that. I was set to leave for SeaTac only an hour before my scheduled arrival time. I called to see what the heck the deal was, and was told they flat-out booked up the shuttle I was scheduled to be on. Apparently, to Rocket, reservations are just loose suggestions. Not to worry, though, I was condescendingly told. They'd get me to the airport before my flight. Again, this is not what I reserved and not what I was paying for. After additional conversation, I discovered they conveniently had a cancellation on an earlier shuttle, one closer to the time I'd taken care to reserve many weeks ago. Joy. So I waited for hours to get confirmation that I'd be on this shuttle. Nothing happened. I called again. They were "working on it". The end of the day came, and I called to cancel my ride, because it's clear I couldn't trust them to get me to the airport anywhere near the time I needed. I wasn't in a mood to pay nearly $100 to miss my flight. I'm lucky that I could catch a ride with someone who happened to be traveling to Seattle that day at a time that would work for catching my flight. Consider that you may not be in a similar position when you "book". If you insist on using this company to go to SeaTac, lie when you tell them your flight time. Give an earlier flight as a buffer. Clearly, they use flight info to govern a schedule that maximizes their interests, regardless of what you thought you scheduled and paid for. read more

My husband and I made reservations in plenty of time for Rocket Transportation to drive us from Port Townsend, WA to SEATAC on 12/20/2021 for a flight to Boise, ID. The driver arrived at our home about 20 minutes later than the time we were told to expect him. One of the other people in the van needed to use the restroom, and I offered ours, but the driver, Shane, said that he had another pit stop in mind. Instead of driving the two miles or so to that location, Shane took a route which took at least twice as long, wasting even more time. There were three more people to pick up, with the 20 minutes late we experienced increasing exponentially. When we were still an hour from the airport, Shane made another pit stop at a McDonald's, without even checking to see whether anyone needed one, even though many of us were getting close to time to board. By the time we finally reached SEATAC, most of the 18 people in the van had missed their flights. In our case, we had to stay overnight in a hotel and be back to the airport by 4 a.m., in addition to flying to San Francisco just to get from Seattle to Boise. Needless to say, the cost of the hotel, plus extra food, and fees for changing our flights vastly increased the cost of our trip. Not the kind of holiday surprise we needed. read more

The slogan is "door to door". It is definitely not that. Got picked up at 4:40 am for what should have been a 7:30 arrival at the airport. Did not get to the airport until just after 8:30. Such a long trip for what is realistically about a two hour drive. So many stops to pick people up, do not recommend unless you truly have no other choice. read more

It took a lot of time (3 1/2 hours) to get from Seatac to Sequim, just because of a pit stop at McDonalds and people who needed to be dropped off in Port Townsend. The driver Greg was super professional and arrived at the airport within 5 minutes of the expected time. Based on this successful trip from the airport to Sequim, and checking with other passengers on the shuttle, I decided to trust Rocket with the trip back to the airport. The driver (Todd) arrived within a minute of the expected time, and since we were only 1/2 full we got to the airport within 2 1/2 hours, plenty of time for my flight. I like their process for informing you what's going on. You get an email the morning of the day before telling you when you'll be picked up. It makes sense, because they need to plan their route once they know who is going to get picked up and in what order. They give you a way to contact the driver, and they tell you to contact them if the shuttle is not there at the predicted time. I will definitely use them in the future! That value is good, and you save a lot of money over renting a car just to get back and forth from the airport. read more

I like the door-to-door service and the built-in pitstop, but traveling with Rocket Transportation can be pretty stressful. They gave me less than 24 hours notice when my pick up time would be for my trip to the airport. They arrive before the time they give you, and then are antsy to go. When they pick you up at the airport, they don't come into the airport to get you, you have to wait outside in the cold for for fear of missing them. I waited outside for the van on my most recent trip, and still somehow missed seeing the van pull up. I was watching for it carefully, and managed to see it before it was too late. He probably wouldn't really have left without me, but it was still stressful. My driver to the airport was kind of surly, and my driver from the airport was friendly, but was careless with a lady's CPAP machine bag while loading luggage and it fell out onto the asphalt. It kind of freaked me out, and when he told me to keep my CPAP machine bag with me, I was relieved. That's really delicate, expensive, necessary equipment to be careless with. I was freaked out enough by it not to tip him, but then felt guilty for not tipping him, especially since he was so much friendlier than the first driver, who I did tip, and mailed the tip later. There were a lot of people in the van for my return trip, and I was the second to last one being dropped off, so it was kind of a long night with my left leg smooshed by the wheel well the whole time. I think the company means well, because on a previous trip the office manager bent over backwards to help me when I had a delayed flight and luggage, but there is a lot of room for improvement. read more

Not only that - but he threatened to throw me off the bus for asking him to explain why he would not drive me there when the road was in fact clear. He went ballistic on me and started screaming at me that he did not feel like it and if I did not like it that was too bad!! And, when I tried to contact the company the following day by leaving a phone message and also an email on their cite - I got no response at all. Even twice when I made errors in my timing I was helped with the friendlest efficient service. Sometimes I wait at SeaTac for a couple hours, depending on my timing, and have found ways to entertain myself. What a surprise. Jerry our friendly and helpful driver dropped us off at the Sleep Inn at Sea Tac. This is a Choice Hotel and we have stayed here for many nights before or after a flight from Seatac. We arrived at the hotel, the doors were locked but were remotely opened. Things were strange. Black Bags, someone at the door then informed us that the SLEEP INN AT SEATAC is now a homeless shelter. Choice Hotels failed to tell us this until we walked into the Shelter. They have our email, our phone number and there is no reason they did not call ahead of time. Thank Goodness Jerry was still there! You see, he was helping us with our luggage. He calmly said "don't worry we will find a place", Comfort INN was down the street and also a Choice Hotel Hew drove us there and we were able to check in and transfer our reservation.. This company can't be worse at customer service. If you have to cancel, no matter what, you get 5% of your money back unless you cancel 2 weeks in advance, even if you only made the reservation the day before. Their website says you get all but 5% back, but that's not what they do. And the one time I did take it, I had to be at SeaTac by 2:00 pm and got picked up at 7:00. By the time we finished running "door to door" there were 13 people in a 12 passenger van. I have never been so uncomfortable for so long before or since. However this past time multiple mistakes were made involving our travel plans , even though I made my reservations 1 week in advance. I followed all the protocols they ask of me. I confirmed my time the day before as requested. I was left a message late in the evening the same day saying we were now being picked up in less than 11 hours with no time to fix it! The lady making reservations would not give me her name , would not make it right even though I had emails confirming the time we agreed on. i explained to her we could not leave earlier than agreed. She admitted moving us off our agreed time because it didn't work for them. This left us hanging with no ride that worked just hours before we needed to leave for our trip. I asked her why she did not call to ask if this worked for us before changing our time. She hung up on me. "We'll give you a refund, but don't ever call us again," is what the owner, Kathy, said to us when we cancelled our reservation 25 hours before departure. Why did we cancel? Well, the company drastically changed our departure time from Sequim to SeaTac. We couldn't leave my elderly FIL until we had other coverage and the person wasn't arriving until just before our originally planned departure time. (I guess Rocket cancelled the later shuttle.) In addition to our other issue, we would have been at the airport for 8 hours before our flight departed! The owner was easily one of the rudest business owners I've ever encountered and certainly knows nothing about customer service. First she offered us a "store credit", so to speak, and then offered us a 1 percent refund. ($1.50!). What a joke! When we pointed out the verbiage on their website that said we could cancel up to 5 hours in advance, she said that didn't apply in this situation. Anyway, she finally agreed to the refund (it took a week and 2 more phone calls to get it) but told us we could never use Rocket again. That's okay. I'd rather spend $300 for an Uber than give her our business! As a published travel writer, I'll make sure the word gets out about this company, though I will offer a compliment to Wayne, our driver from SeaTac to Sequim, who was excellent! read more

So far, after using this service several times, I have had good results: good, friendly drivers, efficient service (although the van broke down once at my pickup place, but I had 6 hours before my flight left the runway). The price was reasonable, including the senior discount, and the pickup and drop off times were within reason, given the often horrible traffic heading toward and away from SeaTac. I intend to use this service again because it has been adequate and reasonably price. Also, how else can I travel from Chimacum to SeaTac and back home? I dread having to use this service because I have no control over who I get as a driver and the quality varies widely. I think there are 12 drivers...two of the women and one man lack the focus they need to have on their driving. One man does not pay attention to traffic patterns ahead of him and two women are just plain scary / one looks at her phone in her lap while driving and the other - well, she talks a steady blue streak! Nerve wracking! I will say that most drivers are excellent...for example Elsa and Pete - however the wait is long, the journey takes forever, and the vehicle is usually crammed with riders.
