I probably get food from the W at least once every two weeks. They are the only restaurant that delivers breakfast. I usually only get breakfast. I'm sure they know my order by heart!! Huevos rancheros over easy with hashbrowns and pork, green chili and a side of corned beef hash. It comes with a side guacamole and sour cream. I live just within city limits so sometimes the delivery driver has to trek through the snow to get to my front door! He never complains and he's always very nice. This is a hometown diner, a good place for breakfast. We were seated right away and servers came to our table quickly. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. The eggs, hash browns, and toast were cooked perfectly. The steak was ok, but I've had better elsewhere. There was too much breading for my liking. Fair warning, most of these businesses during the summer are going to be run by the local teenagers. I appreciate them working hard, but there is definitely room for improvement. I feel like there needs to be an adult supervising these students or someone who can guide them in running the restaurant more efficiently. We walked in and ended up being 3rd on the list (awesome!) and they stated it would only be about a 10min wait. Great. We went outside as the entryway is extremely small and can get crowded quickly. We started seeing other groups being seated that arrived after us. Sometimes they'll seat larger groups first, so I didn't think anything of it. Then the host came out with the pad of names and she was on the second page. That's when I knew something was off. I went to talk with her and she went back to the first page and EVERY name was crossed off,but mine. She apologized and we were seated next. We sat down and we were asked 3x by 3 different people whether or not we want something other than water. We continued to see this pattern for EVERY table. VERY inefficient and a waste of time when you have a line out the door. We were in a rush to get back to Denver so we only wanted our meal and to get out of there. I had a slice of french toast and hashbrowns ($3+$5) and my husband ordered the western omelette ($14). No extra drinks, no substitutions. The french toast was exactly what I needed and the hashbrown hit the spot. The omelette was what we expected. The check comes and it's hand written with our order with no prices, but a simple total of $27.05. Umm... 5+3+14 =22. Tax was about 9%, so at most it should be about $24-25. Not sure what they're charging us extra for. My husband just wanted to get out of this establishment, so I did not confront them about the random charge. On top of that, they do charge you the credit card fee (4%). I don't mind fees, but please DISCLOSE what I am paying for. In the end, our tab was $28.13 excluding tip. I personally was not pleased with all these hidden fees. There are a few other diners in town and I will be going to those restaurants over this one in the future. read more

I love the hometown decor of this place, very old fashioned and inviting. The service was top notch and our waitress was so friendly. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the omelette. Is $86 too much to pay for breakfast for 3 people? You bet it is. That is what we were charged last Saturday, 12 April 2025, at the W Cafe. Be careful ordering sides. It is difficult to read the menu on these upcharges, if they are there at all. At the end of the meal, we were aghast at the bill. We thought this was a mistake. The waitress went over the bill with us and lo and behold we were on the hook for $86. Unbelievable! If you want to get fleeced, go to W Cafe. read more

The food was insanely good! We had about a 20 minute wait at this sidewalk cafe. But we'll worth the wait. The entire team was so engaging and nice. The food comes out extremely hot and fast. I had the breakfast burrito stuffed with egg, sausage, cheese and home fries, then Smothered with Chili Verde. The server suggested I get a side of country gravy to pour on top of the Chile verde. What an explosion of flavors. We also had a couple of omelets and a fresh from scratch biscuit the size of your hand. Come hungry because the portions are massive. So fun and busy. They probably had 20 tables within the dining room and everyone was chattering and the expedite is speaking loud enough so the whole place can here. Great fun, great food and great value! read more

Fabulous breakfast joint. The Morty Stacker is possibly the most delicious (although sinfully rich) breakfast ever concocted. Sausage gravy (or green Chile), potatoes, eggs your way, cheese... Huge portions so a challenge to finish. Pancakes the size of manhole covers. Perfect bacon. Nice servers. The food comes out in a flash... We were driving through Gunnison early on our road trip and we were looking for a local breakfast place. We arrived around 7:30/8am on a Sunday morning and this place along with another place were the only ones open. It was PACKED with what seemed like with other locals. We got on the waitlist and only had a 10min wait, maybe 15 max. It wasn't bad at all. The waitress was super friendly and very patient with us since it took us a few minutes to look over the menu. I got some home fry dish that had ham, mushrooms, cheese, and a biscuit. It was delicious. The menu is huge and everything is served all day. I believe the price ranged from $8/$9-$12/$13. Coffee had free refills. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal and it was fun to be somewhere local. P.S. we didn't try the cinnamon roll but I saw one come out and it looked amazing! read more

Super fun cafe with really great basic breakfast. There were definitely a lot of people waiting when we arrived but the host was super great at moving people in and out. Our server was fine but a little rattled it seemed like - she forgot our drink order twice and seemed annoyed when we had to remind her. The fruit plate was amazing and full of fresh fruit - honestly, the best fruit plate I've seen in a long time. The veggie huevos rancheros was big and had a ton of green chili sauce on top. We just were passing through on a Monday morning, early and saw this place. Cutest little dinner! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They kept our coffee hot and full, waters topped off and had great recommendations. Now on to the food, it was AMAZING! So flavorful, huge servings and their side of fruit for the breakfast (extra $2) was worth every penny plus some. It came with so many different things from real cherries, to kiwi, melons, apples, grapes, berries and bananas. And I had classics corned beef hash (from the can-my favorite) scrambled eggs. The portion sizes were also very generous and food was too bad. Minus one star because it was 10° outside and we had to wait in the cold while a table opened up. They don't have an indoor waiting area. Minus another star because it was a little bit of a squeeze in here; its a very small place. Trying this place once was good enough for me. OMG!!! By far THE BEST breakfast ever!! My husband and I stayed in Almont, on our way back to Colorado Springs, we drove through Gunnison to eat at this wonderful establishment. Hubby had Eggs Benedict and a side of biscuits and sausage gravy. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, sourdough toast and a side order of one buttermilk pancake. EVERYTHING was absolutely fantastic and tasted Home Cooked, as I'm sure it w If and when we ever come through Gunnison again, we WILL definitely stop to eat here. I found this place on Yelp and decided it was worthy for a breakfast trip - Trish G.'s review sounded promising - so Sunday morning we checked this place out for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast special - Sausage gravy and biscuits, two eggs (over easy), bacon, and breakfast potatoes. You get a choice between "breakfast potatoes" and "shredded style hash browns. I couldn't make up my mind - so she suggested some of both - which I agreed with. And coffee. The food came out in short order - good solid diner food. The Sausage gravy and biscuits was tasty, the eggs were done just right - the bacon was meaty, crisp, and delicious. Both styles of potatoes were also good. Trish G. also nailed one other thing in her review - the coffee was weak. I was wishing I had something stronger and bolder flavor-wise. The Gunnison / CB regional airport does not have any food service besides a vending machine, however, W cafe filled the void and delivered a delicious breakfast while we waited for our flight. Fluffy biscuit. Standard nothing special gravy. The gravy was peppery. I got it to go. I sat on the porch in front of the business as I waited. They brought it out to me in a with napkin, fork, spoon, knife, salt and pepper. It was in a Styrofoam container on a layer of tin foil. It was warm. I couldn't ask for anything more. I ate it in the back of a van. It was B&G. No complaints. I was satisfied. It's my duty to search the world over for the best plate of biscuits and gravy. I am ever searching. Perfect. This is an old school diner. It's clean cozy and the food is really solid. Rude waiter? Ours was great but sometimes a diner waitress with a little sass is part of the authentic experience. And the hash browns (usually just plain and boring) were great. Light and crispy with just a hint of oil.
