My condo was built in 1980 and not only had never been updated, I'm sure the carpet was the same carpet from 1980 too. It was in desperate need of attention to say the least. Karl Deede at Clear View has acted as the general contractor for both my bathroom and kitchen/dining room remodel. Both spaces were small and challenging. Karl came through for us on both projects! He is detailed oriented in all the ways that matter. We now have walls that are so straight the cabinets needed no shimming when installed. We have finishing touches that go the extra mile. Not only is Karl an expert craftsman but he's also got an eye for unique design elements in difficult spaces that's unparalleled. After I decided to remove a load bearing wall in my formerly cramped galley kitchen, I had to make a decision whether to add a support post, or do major work (at major costs) to add a supporting ceiling beam. Karl suggested a stainless steel support pole rather than a new ceiling beam. He rightly bet that a beautiful steel beam (which he crafted and finished himself) would not only match my mid-century inspired design, but would also be functional. I would never have thought of this element and it was absolutely the correct solution. Karl was also went the extra mile with my neighbors. because our remodel is a townhouse, we have a shared wall with our neighbors. As the project progressed, we found a number of plumbing and electrical issues they needed to resolve before we could pass inspection and close the wall. Because our neighbors first language was not English, Karl thoughtfully contacted an ethnic community outreach group to help with translations. Spectacular. And last but certainly not least. Karl made friends with my dog and made sure she was comfortable and happy during the entire remodel.
