She also did what she called a full head of highlights which it's not. I went back in for my move up which I now found it is not a move up simply pushing the beads up and matting the hair. More of a scam to get more money. She also claimed she did a full highlight. I told her after that time I wasn't thrilled with the color. I sent her pics of what I wanted and she blew me off and said she would do more next time. Well I went back and my hair was completely all messed up from her botched move up which I confirmed from real hair extension specialists in the area it was indeed improperly done. As a result my hair that was now only 6 months old had to be thrown out because of her incompetence. I had to how reorder new hair. Pay for another install which was done with the wrong color beads. She also had the audacity to charge me for a full highlight and an extra bowl of color. I left and reached out and told her I wanted a diff color and she told me it couldn't be done which is absolutely insane I've been getting highlights for 15 plus years I know what color my hair is capable of being. As time went on I got more and more upset and annoyed as I saw what a hot mess my hair was. I sent her pics and she said that she would add more highlights next time. I was done. I called to cancel all of my future appointments and she argued with me. She's horrible. For someone who gave this subpar salon pushing $3,000 in 6 months you would think they would be nicer. She's lazy and just doesn't want to do the work in conjunction with not knowing what she's doing. Stick to blowouts and go back to beauty school and get a class on how to talk to people.

She didn't recall the photos we looked at during the consultation so I had to look through pics again. To put it simply, it was not a very professional experience. She gossiped about a number of her other clients right in front of customers and my appointment ended up taking almost 9 hours. The plan was a balayage/ombre to keep my blonde but soften and freshen it up like the pictures we looked at. She literally just painted 95% of my hair with bleach and let some roots show through. I don't know much about hair so I asked a lot of questions. She she seemed to know what she was doing. After my 9 hour appointment, my error was that I left satisfied. My hair was way lighter than I originally wanted, but Valerie took a pic to show me the back and it looked fine (she should've given me a mirror).. In the salon it seemed just like a really light blonde, and the blow-out was really nice. Maybe I was just over excited by the change, but when I got home and saw myself in normal lighting I immediately broke down crying. My roots had an orangey tone and the majority of my hair was white. There was NO ombre. My hair was also extremely dried out and frayed. I called as soon as they reopened and expressedy my dissatisfaction. I apologized for having left seemingly happy and then changing my mind. I explained that I was in a hurry to catch a train after having been at the salon for so many hours, and I didn't take the time to process that this wasn't what I wanted. I should have taken the time to look at the entire finished look closely before leaving. Valerie was willing to have me come in to fix it up, which I did really appreciate. But then that same day my hair literally started falling out of my head (I hadn't washed it yet or anything... Still how it was from the salon). I decided that I just didn't feel comfortable going back there, and would rather pay again to have it done at a more reputable salon. I called to cancel and Nobody answered the phone. I ended up having my hair fixed elsewhere, where I learned how they are supposed to do ombre/balayage, and that 9 hours is an absolutely ridiculously amount of time. I paid a lot of money at glam bar and my hair was completely destroyed. I'm extremely disappointed.

I've never been more happy and satisfied with my results every time I go. Not only do my hair cuts and color come out great, but my hair had never been as healthy and long as it is now. I struggled for years before Valerie searching for the right hair stylist. She also has a great selection of top of line shampoos and conditioners, so I buy all my hair products directly through her. If your looking for any weakness which is not so much a weakness this place has, I would say schedule in advance and make sure you give yourself enough time before an event or errand, and make sure you make her or anyone on staff aware of it. People seem to forget that this place takes Pride in their work. They will never let you walk out that door looking like a hot mess. As far as pricing, extremely fair!! Another reason that I choose to go to her: she will alway listen to her clients and try and understand exactly what they want. Sometimes I'll come in with a new hair color in mind, but it will be hard to explain as sometimes I like to try different looks and mix different shades together.
