This place was awesome! The decor takes you straight back to the 50s with a retro theme, which is fun. The workers are very nice and let you try as many samples as you'd like. I decided on one scoop of rocky road in a cup. There are many flavors so it can be hard to narrow down! I enjoyed rocky road though. They do also offer many classic options like banana split sundaes and milkshakes. There is lots of seating and it's a great spot for families! Probably not too many visitors to Rockin Retro mapped out a visit here from the other side of the country. But I had fallen in love with ice cream from Wisconsin's Chocolate Shoppe, and I learned Rockin Retro served their ice cream! (Chocolate Shoppe supplies independent ice cream shops across the country, including places near my home in California.). Since Rockin Retro was a reasonable drive from my brother's Florida house, we had to stop by here one evening while in Cocoa Beach. This place is amazing! Love the retro vibe: jukebox, Elvis, vintage posters, 50s style booths. And of course the super premium Chocolate Shoppe ice cream! 24 flavors to choose from - there is something here for everyone. My brother got his favorite Iced latte Da, and I I found something I hadn't tried before, Munchie Madness. It's described as "sweet cake batter ice cream with a salted caramel ripple plus Oreos, M&M pieces and peanut butter cups. Wow, it was good. We took our time savoring each bite. We were nearby when my parents pointed to this ice cream place and said, "That place has the best ice cream!" Then they added, "Yeah, and we walked in after they were closing but the owner was still nice enough to serve us! We'll have to go back there tonight." I, personally, would never want to walk into a place as they're closing. Give the employees a break, they want to go home! But, of course I wanted to come back and try the best ice cream. That night, we went out, stopped a few different places, and before you knew it, it was 5 minutes before their posted closing time as we pulled up to Rockin Retro Ice Cream. I suggested we try again a different night but my parents insisted, and, I did want to try the best ice cream. Plus, the "Open" light was still on. We went in, and found that the shop was super cute with 1950s decor, a jukebox, and a statue of Elvis playing the guitar. The staff wear cute striped aprons and paper hats. When we entered, the staff had pretty much all cleaned up and packed up. Still, they were still super friendly and happy to serve us (and I made sure we left a nice tip, since we kept them there late!) We chose this place because of the retro ambiance. It is decorated like an old shop from the 1950's/'60's.There is a life size Elvis on a stool near a jukebox that lights up but unfortunately doesn't play( they need to fix that). The ice cream is very creamy and you are able to try a sample before ordering. There is also part of an old car with a bench seat in front of a wall that has Rockin Retro on it. This ice cream shop is a must experience when you are in Cocoa Beach! The owners are great and very accommodating. As of Dec 2024, they had only been open for a couple of months. I called one evening on New Year's Eve while we were vacationing. Their website, Facebook and Yelp page wasn't quite to place they wanted it to be. I asked them about their flavors. Of course, I was ordering for 10 people and not everyone wanted the same flavor(s). She asked for my cell number and she sent me 4-5 pictures of their ice cream case with all the flavors. My husband and I were visiting Cocoa Beach when we decided that we should find an ice cream shop. After a couple of disappointments (one shop was no longer there and the lot was under construction, another is actually a bar, the third one had closed early even the post showed that they should still be open), my husband remembered seeing this shop in the Publix shopping center. We were thrilled to give a small business our patronage. The shop looks just like the 50's and 60's style soda fountains and the entire seating area was adorable. It was complete with a juke box! The two team members who assisted us were very polite and gave us some background on the store. We appreciated their friendliness. They carry 24 flavors of fresh ice cream and also have fresh made waffle cones and they are terrific. My husband got a double (medium) Old Fashioned Vanilla, and I got a double (medium) Kitty Kitty Bang Bang waffle cone. These ice cream cones tasted like heaven! We will be back all week! This is the closest thing I've found on the Space Coast to that Johnny Rocket's aesthetic that we've been missing. Really clean, wonderful, new place, with great ice cream, sundaes, and other treats. From the 50s style chairs and booths; to the Elvis statue; to the old jukebox; to the neat couch at the front of the shop, shaped like a an old 57 Chevy (or some car like that). The service for us was great...we visited at a time when it was completely empty, so we were enjoying our sundaes in no time. This is a super cute place! The ambiance was definitely retro, complete with an Elvis statue and a jukebox and the ice cream served in classic dishes. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. But of course you're coming for the ice cream. We only got the regular scoops so I can't speak for the milkshakes, sundaes, or soft serve. They have the regular flavors plus some unique ones that are very good. We tried Caramel Chaos, which is just what it sounds like, and This $&@! Just Got Serious, which was salted caramel ice cream with fudge and salted cashews. Plus the portions were very generous. Definitely give this place a visit! read more

My family stopped in here one night before a cruise, and we had a great time. The place looks brand new based on how the furniture inside looks. There were a ton of unique ice cream flavors to try, as well as classic flavors. There were also some unique milkshake combinations.
