Not a "something must be wrong" line. A "we willingly stand here because ice cream is involved" line. My son ordered what can only be described as an engineering marvel: chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and then rolled in either Butterfinger, Heath, or some other delicious candy-coated masterpiece. I honestly lost track somewhere between "dipped" and "rolled." It looked less like an ice cream cone and more like a dare. My daughter got a twist cone rolled in Heath pieces and was equally thrilled. Both kids loved their treats, which is a pretty solid endorsement considering teenagers treat compliments like they're being charged by the word. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, there were plenty of benches to sit and enjoy your sugar-induced happiness, and they even have a rewards program. Because apparently they know we'll be back. We're locals, not tourists, and this place is ALWAYS busy. After our first visit, I finally understand why. I left without ice cream, thoroughly soaked. Surely, the five people outside continued waiting in the pouring rain for another 5min. The treaties of the ice cream was something I've never had before, and I've made ice cream, so I know the texture quite well. It was almost a chewy rice pudding texture that was absolutely smooth and creamy at the same time. It had a bit of spring to it which I tried to capture in photos. But this texture also made it seem slightly melt-restaurant too! Yes, it did melt a bit as time went on (I was really savoring it) but it didn't melt nearly as fast as most ice creams do. After a sunny day at the beach, our group of eight walked to this shop and decided on buying a whole pie for $18 instead of two slices at $5 a pop. Certainly the better deal, but we also didn't want to regret later for not ordering enough. Well, it was a very good decision. We devoured the whole pie in one sitting like a bunch of starving hyenas seeing food for the first time in weeks. There was not a crumb left by the time we finished. The pie was as great as they say, and definitely one of the best I ever had. Just the right amount sour and tartness without being overly sweet. If I were to nitpick, then I would like a slightly thicker graham cracker crust. Not sure when I'll come back to Cape Canaveral again. However, if I do, this may have become stop number one on my list. You can find beaches everywhere, but an excellent key lime pies is a treasure you rarely discover.

The word "ice cream" caught my eye, and even if it was late February, the weather was warm, which is strange, given a week prior to our arrival, it was freezing cold, so ice cream it was. There was a little line in the store, with only one man scooping ice cream for a bunch of people waiting (who was also the cashier). It was funny to see how people would copy each other with choosing the flavor; the lady in front said "sweet cream" flavor, and each successive person behind her said the same thing, even if they were not with her. I stuck to my guns and got the Key Lime Pie Ice cream, which was a great choice! Sweet, creamy and tangy, all the right combo! They also have candies, salt water taffies of all flavors, beer, alligator jerky, Tortuga rum cakes, key lime pies, a huge wall of hot sauces, and gifts. I ended up walking out with a bottle of hot sauce and orange blossom perfume roller ball, which was very nice. Prices were reasonable given this is tourist-town.

With ice cream, sodas, and thick shakes but sadly there was none of that The decor is hit or miss. The Blues Brothers are standing next to the back of a 50s car made into a bench. That is what I expected of this entire place. Instead the rest is records hung on the wall reminding me of cheap 50's theme party decorations. Even the jukebox was not what you would expect it was a little miniature maybe replica but you couldn't put in money or pick a song it was just there. The games were just as disappointing of the three pinball games they had, one didn't work and one was for kids. There are however, two things this place excels at : the ice cream is delicious! They have 50 flavors, including nondairy and sorbet. That alone is a reason to come here The other is the staff. The probably high school aged employees were working extremely hard at a nonstop pace, answering questions, giving samples to people so they could choose which flavor to get , but they never stopped being polite or smiling. Served with a plastic spoon. Not good because the ice cream was too hard. I had to hold the spoon closest to ice cream & really dig. The vanilla ice cream tasted like ice milk, & wasn't flavored. The cheesecake bites were chewy & the strawberries tasted so sweet, I ate around them. Probably artificially sweetened.... ick! A lady there had ordered frozen buckeye candy. She got a refund because she said she couldn't eat them. I won't be returning. I've had so much better, & will pay a little more for it too.
