As tempted as I am to gatekeep this studio, I have to send a whole lot of love to RockIt Body Pilates and all the instructors here. They are so welcoming and it has become my favorite form of working out in the last 1.5 years. I've been coming here since January of 2023 and have loved it since day 1. I have been a client of this studio for 5+ years and am thrilled to be an ongoing client. The sessions are 50 minutes of pure strengthening of the muscles while listening to upbeat music and getting encouragement and guidance from the instructors. When Covid-19 prevented in person exercise they quickly responded with virtual classes. They are flexible and understanding with memberships and have put them on hold through all the various shut downs. I have been working out at RockIt Body for over a year now. I owe my much more toned body to the wonderful instructors -- Ellina, Kaci, Kelly, Jasmine, Amie, Lisa. Each one has a different style and different exercises so you never feel bored. In fact, over a year later I still feel class is hard. I adore this studio and will say this to all moms out there that think you can't get your body back -- you can if you come here! I have a flatter belly now and never thought I would. There is great variety here too. In addition to the Pilates, you can also try a Barre Class or the Recess class (which I've never tried). Barre is different than "Bar Method" as it feels to me like higher cardio. I gave Rockit Body two chances, but I was seriously disappointed by my experience. My first class, which was the wrong level, was incredibly challenging but the instructor offered many modifications and allowed me to go at my own pace. In my class today with Amie, in contrast, I felt utterly humiliated and almost left several times. I am working on getting in shape and have rheumatoid arthritis. I understand that the point of an instructor is to push you and motivate you, but I also know my own limitations. After repeatedly being ridiculed for the modifications I was doing (I have been doing Pilates for several months and know how to modify according to my abilities and injuries), Amie forced me to do a move I was not comfortable doing and I fell inside the Proformer. Might not seem like a big deal to some, but I know when to trust my body and when I can do more - this was an example of when I should have trusted my gut. Very disappointed in this experience and I will NOT be back. read more

The studio had changed. I don't like this place anymore. - - Today Classes always full. I have to book classes a week in advance or don't even dreaming to get in. There is no class in the convenience time such as late morning 11am anymore. If there is not enough people in the class the studio will cancel the class that you booked and you have no chance to get in to other classes that day. BUT If you do cancel they called "late cancel" in less than 24 hr. before class time, there will be a strict charges of $25 even though the studio filled up with people from the wait list. I don't recall getting $25 refund back in my account when the class that I booked had been cancelled! I totally agree with Rebecca F. for the late cancel policy. 1-2 times late cancel fee waive/month or 6-8 hr. before class time before it kick in to late cancel is a much more reasonable. The instructors are quite new and still "LEARNING" while they teaching the classes. The cute manager Bethany and Christine who had set the atmosphere of the "neighborhood studio" were gone. The owner is the worst of all. If she's in the studio then she nags her employees and the clients both to follow her "rules". To the point that makes clients feel uncomfortable. You have to buy their socks and no shoes in the studio for clients but managers and owner walking around with their sneakers on! I'm looking for other places for an alternative now. this is a tough one. I got a 3 pass groupon and I could never get in a class before it expired because my schedule always changed during the holidays with work. They were kind enough to extend it for me. It is extremely difficult to get into a class if you don't have your schedule planned far in advance. I think it should be mandatory that you do a beginners if you buy a groupon. I think it was way too extreme for me. I have been working out quite a bit and I have had private reformer lessons but this was very intense. I tried to get in to a beginners class and nope...never was there room. The instructors are not very warm and fuzzy but 2 out of the three were helpful. One was very frustrated with me- I felt like a 3 year old being scolded and could not wait for the class to end. At least she took the mic away while fussing with me. I am not looking for friends but a comfortable encouraging environment to work out in would of been nice. The studio is very nice and clean. The workout is phenomenal! Wow...Intense who knew what pain those little movements could cause. The price! Yikes...it is pricey. I am going to consider it because by the third class I really did enjoy it and felt my balance improved tremendously. But overall all reformer classes are pricey. So it is not the place just this type of workout. So it loses its stars due to difficulty getting into class- otherwise it is awesome! read more

Love this studio! Super challenging, at first I could only do about 75% of the class. All the instructors especially Tove and Kaci were excellent in helping me modify where I needed to and understanding when I just needed a break. I especially enjoyed the motivating music. Joseph Pilates would be proud. This is my second week taking the classes there 3x a week and let me tell you this works out your entire body like no other. In fact, I can't wait till the weather warms up so I can show off my newly toned booty and maybe use it to crush beer cans. During each class, I'm thoroughly exhausted and ready to throw in the towel after 30 minutes, but after EVERY class, I feel fantastic and at least 5 pounds skinnier. If I had to describe the classes it would be a pilates/strength/circuit/dance combo or.... PILSIRCUD. I leave class drenched in sweat, with shaking legs and exhausted abs (thank you scrambled eggs and endless lunges - my "fave" exercise ever) Ok, seriously though if you're like me and have been hitting 24hour for years and not seeing results switch it up and try Rock it Body because after only two weeks my body is already changing. Note: You can always tell how effective a class is by looking at the instructors, and ALL of the instructors here are very fit. Believe me, I've taken classes before where the instructors had beer bellies, it kind of made me doubt the effectiveness of the class. On another note: It's expensive monthly, I did the intro $159 for new customers but its $200 or more a month after that 1 month unlimited intro. I searched all around the South Bay and the prices are all about the same for Pilates reformer classes. I do want to continue after my month so I guess I just have to figure out a way to fork over that 200 each month. read more

Tried the unlimited monthly membership a few months back. I live close to the Redondo Beach location. 1st, parking is so hard to find and when you do you have to pay a meter. They require that you wear socks and if you forget them you have to spend around $15 for socks. The machines are so outdated and loud! I hear a rumor that they can't get new machines due to a conflict with the maker of the machines. They should probably try to figure something else out because these machines are old and not working. The instructors were just ok and the music not motivating at all. The other clients were not friendly. Not a very welcoming atmosphere. The spin bikes are crammed in a little dirty corner. Should be so much more than it is. I tried maybe three classes and gave up. Expensive lesson. read more

I have to agree - this place will kick your butt!! I am new - only about 4 classes in so far and I think I am going to stick with it. No pain, no gain, right? I had been doing pilates only and thought this would be a breeze - WRONG. I kind of miss my old pilates classes but I have to say depending on who taught those, sometimes I would walk out as if I needed to go back in. I walk out of these classes and every muscle is fatigued! Sleep has been tons better! :) I do believe it isn't beginner friendly and for EVERYONE starting at this gym unless you've done a Pilates fusion class - you will be a beginner here. Hang in there and take your time understanding the moves. I'm sure everyone there had a learning curve! Just because it isn't beginner friendly, doesn't mean you can't become amazing at it! (this is what I keep telling myself) I only take one star away because this does advertise like a reformer, pilates studio, but it's important to remember this is a pilates FUSION class. When you talk to them they are very upfront about that - I just didn't know how different it was going to be. It's about 1/3 pilates. I am used to pilates being more relaxing and using the straps and machine more. They do have a straps class - which I am looking forward to, although it's only offered a few times a week. For the price, ladies, I hate to say this, but this is a steal! $150 for the first month and $200 after that! $250-$300 is a month for unlimited at other solid pilates studios. Also, the staff and instructors have been amazing, no one had made me feel bad for being slow to learn the moves or having to modify. read more

Periodically feeding my fitness class Groupon-mania, I purchased a 3-class deal for $30 at RockiIt Body Pilates. These classes are intense... I was concurrently taking Pilates at a studio in Sherman Oaks, where instructors concentrate more on the right form and slow movements. RockIt Body Pilates is essentially a cardio class and that's not a bad thing, but very hard to keep up with for a beginner like myself. After having spent most of this year rehabilitating my knee, I am much more concerned with proper form, and it was very hard to do that at this studio as exercise sequences where switched fast and I constantly felt like I was behind. But, classes are filled with very fit women, so I'm sure it works after you get used to the pace. Also, I felt very little guidance during all three classes, even though they knew I was new. I often had to watch my neighbors to see what I am supposed to be doing. I don't need hand-holding, but having more direction would have helped. Perhaps, part of it is the studio layout... they have 12-14 reformers and all of them stacked side by side, so the instructor has to move a lot and cannot see the entire class. The studio I go to now has only 8 reformers and they are stacked in two rows, so the instructor has a better view of the entire class from every spot in the room. Class availability is pretty good, but they only let you sign up a week in advance, so you always have to remember to make your appointments. There is a 12-hour cancelation policy (standard for Pilates places), otherwise you get charged for a class. This would have been a convenient option for me after work before I get onto 405 for a long drive home, but the bottom line for me... they are just way too expensive. Perhaps, it's comparable to other Pilates studios in South Bay, but I bought a twice-a-week membership at a Sherman Oaks studio with only 8 reformers for $125/month with no contract. RockIt Body Pilates only offers unlimited memberships and it costs $199 for 3-month auto-pay plan or $249 month-to-month. Pricey, unless you take classes 4-5 times per week. I was debating on whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars and couldn't decide. So if I could, I'd give them 3.5 stars for very limited instructions for newbies and steep prices. But since I can't give them 3.5, I'll round it up to 4, since 3 wouldn't be fair either:) read more

Even if you are not a beginner to reformer pilates...you are a beginner to RockIt Body Pilates. It's like bootcamp reformer pilates plus some. It's a great workout but from my experience...you really have to build up to it. I bought a groupon for three classes. I honestly did not consider myself a beginner because I've been doing reformer pilates classes for years. Boy...was I wrong. I GOT WORKED. It's a really fast paced class and not super beginner/newcomer friendly at all. Seriously, if you're new to this studio, swallow your pride and start with a beginner class. I experienced two teachers. Both great. Neither too concerned with modifications for beginners. Honestly, the class is too fast paced for individual attention. I saw results right away. It's definitely a great workout but I'm way too much of a wuss to continue. Not worth it to me...even at the introductory rate. If you've taken reformer classes in the past, you'll know that the price here is actually pretty good. Intro rate of $159 for the first month and $199/month may sound steep but for reformer pilates, it's actually a pretty good rate. However, I'd be willing to pay more for a wussy oriented classes. That's just personal. I can see why it is so popular. It's just way too intense for me. I'm good with staying in shape at a more moderate level. My last class was torture but I kept telling myself that it was my last time ever...which helped me power through. P.S. As a frame of reference, I'm not a total wuss. I work out 3-4 times a week and am in pretty good shape, if I do say so myself. Still, this was way too intense for me so if you don't regularly work out...consider yourself super warned and know that you will very likely injure yourself if you do not start with a beginner class. I found rockit body Pilates on groupon and I am hooked! I've been going there for about 2 months now, first to the Redondo and now at the Manhattan Beach studio. Kaci is my favorite! She's super high energy and also kicks your butt. I'm never bored in her class. My first class, I was sore for 3 days specifically my abs and butt. I still get sore with the pilates classes here. It's so great to feel sore as I've been working out for a while (yoga, running, barre, weights) now but not regularly with a pilates studio. These classes work your muscles you didn't know you have. Okay I am a crazy fitness enthusiast and I've tried everything - Crossfit, yoga, swimming, cycling, etc. Although I still do all of these activities, nothing compares to my love for Pilates especially at RockIt Body! I live in Hawaii and go back to CA for holidays and no place is like RBP... The reformers they use are incredible and the teachers are sooo amazing! I love Kaci, she's my favorite. They're all so fun and make you feel so welcome. I've been with RBP for over two years now and I don't think I'll ever quit. I've seen the best results w RBP & especially if you pair it with running everyday, you'll see results in a week! It's a great workout and they have other classes such as a HIIT (taught by Kaci) and they have half cycling half Pilates class. Those are my favorite bc you get some cardio in along w your Pilates. RBP has two studios - Redondo and Manhattan beach. The Redondo studio is a lot smaller but they are the only ones w the cycling class. Also, Redondo doesn't have as many classes as Manhattan so I usually go to Manhattan but Redondo if I wanna cycle. The parking at Redondo is also a hassle if you go in the afternoon. But, your body will get toned and tight so fast w RBP! And if you're a student be sure to ask for the student discount, but I think the best package is the unlimited month to month! I'll be honest, this was my first experience with "reformer" pilates. I considered myself to be in good shape when I got to my first class - wow, I got my @$$ kicked... and now I'm addicted! Every class and every instructor is different which keeps it really fun and fresh! I'm starting to see signs of abs I didn't know I had! I didn't start with beginner classes, but it would've made a whole lot of sense too. Once you get used to the machines and some of the exercises you're good to go. Word of advice to the beginners - the early morning classes are brutal and I believe chuck full of pilates veterans, so try to make some of the evening classes until you're a little more comfortable with everything and build up to the workout. Try the recess for a "boot camp" type work out~ Is it expensive? Yup, but worth every last penny and only makes me get my butt there no less than 4 times a week so I don't feel so bad about it. read more

This studio is the reason I am so into fitness. I started a memberships here about a year ago and sadly moved away so I had to cancel, but it is probably one of things I miss most about living in the south bay. The studio itself is amazing...clean, nicely decorated, and the machines are the best out there. The classes are INTENSE. Not only are they a full body, toning, workout, they also incorporate cardio, so you get the complete package. The music is a great touch, because most pilates classes i have been to don't play heart-pumping music. The teachers are the best. Kaci is great for legs, Ellina works your abs very hard, and Kelly and Brynn teach awesome barre/spx classes. The schedules are good too, there are a lot of times, but I wish they offered more on weekends. The only downside is the membership is 200 a month with a 3 month contract. Honestly though, it is so worth it. All you need is a membership here, no need for a gym membership. Also, go with the monthly memberships, a much better deal than the packages. I wish they offered cheaper single classes so that I could go when I visit LA!!! read more

I'm not a wimp when it comes to working out and work out classes. I made the mistake of underestimating this class. I came in thinking - "Only 50 minutes?! You're kidding me. I can handle barre class with no problem and 90 minutes of bikram yoga - this will be a breeze." Big mistake. I got my butt kicked my first class. My abs were so sore afterwards, that I could barely do a sit up. It is an amazing workout. I wasn't sore at all after my 2nd class - but I was still doing a beginner's class and the teacher toned it down for all of us newbies. However, I'm still not sure if I want to graduate out of the beginner's class yet. This is an amazing workout - I can see how this will tone up your body like crazy. The 2 teachers I had were super peppy (necessary!!) and a little tough (sometimes good, sometimes bad). I'm docking it a point because of the price, but I'd rather pay for this monthly membership than go to a fancy gym. I'm looking forward to using the rest of my classes on my Groupon!! read more

Rock it Body PIlates rocks! This place will get you in shape. I am definitely not flexible or in shape so I struggle to keep up in every beginner class that I go to. It's a really tough workout but after 50 minutes, you really do feel pretty good. I have worked out with Ellina, Kaci, and Amber. They are all great instructors. They are tough, funny, and motivating. They will get you in shape. The website is pretty good for reserving your space ahead of time. It's a bit pricey but compare it to a high end gym and it's not too bad. read more
