The worker there sucks I went in there to buy a pizza slice and I respectfully asked, cam I please get the freshiest slice of pepperoni and he said it will be $5 instead of the $3.50 posted in the store and I respectfully said I'll just get the pepperoni you have ready. Conveniently located in downtown Bloomington close to bars (within stumbling distance lol) and open late! They deliver too but there is something special about the vibe of listening to music and waiting in line for that satisfying slice then dumping Parmesan cheese or garlic powder on top to get that perfect first bite. Simple, cheap, tasty--how had I never been here, or even heard of this place, until last weekend? Rockit's is a (very) small pizza joint on Walnut, near the Bluebird, Brothers, Sports, and other bars and restaurants (right across from Btown Diner!). We stopped in in desperate need of something greasy after a night out at Sports, and this could not have hit the spot more. Food in Bloomington is generally on the more expensive end, so I was delighted to find pizza-by-the-slice for a mere $2.75. What a deal. Bring cash or buy together, though, because they have a credit card minimum. It might have just been the state of mild inebriation I was in when I ate this pizza, or the distracting fact that the place was absolutely PACKED with people and super loud and chaotic, but honestly this was way better than pizza from a lot of the famous, more expensive places in Bloomington. Dare I say that the sauce and crust of this pizza made it better than either Pizza X or (I know this is heresy) Mother Bear's? You'll just have to get a couple drinks in you and go find out yourself, I suppose... read more

Love love love this pizza place! I first came here because I wanted pizza and it was one of the only places that was still open. The location is kinda sketchy at night, but the pizza is amazing. They have a lot of good toppings, they are NOT skimpy on the toppings, and prices are very reasonable. I will come here for pizza every time I'm in town. I've never been here sober. That being said... This is the quintessential drunk Bloomington food stop. When it's 3 a.m.--and you're not quite ready to stumble home--soak up some of that alcohol at Rockit's. Great place to go to the bathroom, too. There are only about 5 booths, so make friends with other drunken merrymakers if need be. The fun ends at 3:30 a.m. when Rockit's closes. Pizza by the slice is ready immediately. It costs around $3. The crust is thin but gets thicker at the end of the slice. If your hunger gets ahead of your brain and wallet-- and you order an entire pizza--the wait will be longer. We ordered breadsticks once and waited a solid 15 minutes. They were not as thick and dense as I like my breadsticks to be. Instead, they were little skinny minnies with seeds baked on top. The cheese dip was on point though. The interior is grungy rad. Alongside the framed photos of bands, there are sharpie messages all over the teal and red walls. For gross oily pizza when yore drunk, this place is perfect. I typically have a stomachache the next day as I don't usually eat this much grease. I used to love getting 1 slice when I was just vegetarian. Pre-made slices at 3am....yum. but that was years ago. I have to give them mad props for consistently offering vegan options. Great for a slice or two. Very fast for what it is. Some of my favorite pizza in town and it's almost up to east coast spec.

I was there Tuesday night at 9pm, took home a delicious thin crust pie at 9:30, so good I could have easily eaten another.

Best. slice pizza (in Indiana). ever. They have a pretty vegan cheese thing there, too. [VeganZ for lunch!] It's great. It's local. To be frank - Mother Bear's is my favorite restaurant in town, but Rockit's is my favorite pizza. Fluckin' awesome. The pizza is actually pretty good for Bloomington. That being said, the workers are complete scumbags and will oftentimes make up prices on the spot. They take advantage of drunk college students and request "generous tips" in order to receive your pizza in a timely manner. There is a certain charm to this place despite the undeniable rattiness. First, let me say that the food is less than stellar. I'm sure this is counterbalanced by the fact that places is open until 3 am but my pepperoni pizza was extremely greasy and edging towards rancid. . You can't do much better on a budget. On the other hand my friend, who was several beers ahead of me, really enjoyed his vegetarian pizza. So maybe it just matters at what point you are in the night? There is nothing fancy going on here with the food. The pizza is New York Style with the floppy crust and is really cheap ($2.50). The walls are decorated with broken drumheads, symbols, and guitars. There are also a number of signed promotional picks from bands. Given the heavy metal vibe of the place I was definitely surprised to see one signed by LL Cool J to Rockits. In sum, for a quick and dirty meal late at night, Rockit's is probably the place to be, but earlier in the evening you've got better options. read more

As you can see by every other reviews, it's drunk food that hits the spot and serves it's purpose as something to line your stomach with copious amounts a grease. This place can kick rocks. I order a traditional stromboli, and they send me garlic bread with some "pizza" toppings. On top of that they told me 25 min delivery, and it was 45 in reality. Tonight, we placed an order, waited two hours, still no pizza. We called the restaurant several times, no answer at all. Now it is 12:30 AM, no pizza, no phone call, no nothing. Also, our card has already been charged (granted that is probably btown menus's doing). Total bummer. In the past, when Rockit's does arrive, the quality is extremely inconsistent. it is decent sometimes, but it has also been very doughy and undercooked before, on more than one occasion. Also, ten pepperonis on a large pizza does not constitute 'extra pepperoni.' So, basically, probably just about the most unreliable business around. I will definitely not be patronizing them again any time in the foreseeable future. Man, Bloomington really needs a decent New York style pizza spot!! read more
