We were on a mission to get matching tattoos while in Vegas. After some random calls, we chose Rockstar Tattoo as they carry specific inks we were looking for. They also take walk-ins, and we were on a time crunch, so we sure did walk right in and were both done in under an hour! We spoke with Louie over the phone. He was courteous and answered all of our questions. He welcomed us when we came in and had us sign the waiver forms. Once we completed the paperwork, we were seated at the same time to get started. Louie and Steve were so fun to work with. They cracked jokes and really made us comfortable. I was kind of a hot mess, but he really put me at ease. From first poke to the last, we were done in under 20 minutes! I purposely didn't post ours because it's a secret, haha! Their pricing is very competitive, and they are true experts at their craft. I asked for Steven since I knew he would be working and he was just finishing up with only one walk-in (small finger piece) ahead of me. I told him what I wanted and showed a few pictures of my idea for a cute, cartoony, avocado person. He did the pomegranate off of my request without reference photos from me. The whole process took less than 90 minutes including waiting for the customer ahead of me and the stencil draw. Cost was $200 without tip and I couldn't be happier. The next day after getting my little tattoo on my middle finger, I realized the stencil, purple/blue had washed off and there was no actual ink on my finger. I emailed the shop with an inquiry and got a reply in 30 mins or less! I was referred to Steven who called me shortly after. I sent him pictures of ideas of what I was thinking and he then made a plan and contacted me back. He was very open with his schedule and gave pricing up front. Very pleased with his work and the tattoo. Highly recommend - I'll probably make it a point to stop here on future trips when possible. The shop is comfortable - not a tourist trap and Steven was great. Update 8-6-17. I was so happy with previous work and Steven I contacted him again when in Vegas for a convention. I went in to get a tattoo from Javier and left a deposit and scheduled an appointment. When I told him I was unable to get my tattoo after loosing my wallet and phone he was heartless to my situation. I asked for the deposit back within 24 hours. I was denied completely. Went to Vegas with the plan to get my first tattoo, 2 real signatures and roman numerals on my ribs. First went to Voodoo and picked up a really bad vibe and no one seemed interested in doing my tattoo. They told me there were plenty of good places in philly that could do it! (gee thanks) My 2 buddies went there but I looked elsewhere. the things I looked for in a tattoo parlor was cleanliness, price and vibe from the artist. Thats when I walked into Rockstar and met Travis Popp. Picked up an amazing vibe from him. He actually seemed to care and worked with me alot because I was on a tight budget, being a college student on spring break. He took the time to make sure the sizes of the signatures were perfect and it was exactly how i wanted. and even tho there wasnt that much info about him online I decided to give him a shot. he seemed very confident he could do the signatures even tho it was my 1st tat and the ribs are a tough place to do and very easily screw up a sig. The Tat was perfect. Dude has light hands, the pain wasnt comfortable but no where near as painful as i thought it would be. He also worked pretty quickly. The signatures which were photocopied from a will were SPOT ON. Over 3 months later, my tat still looks great and my buddies who went to voodoo now need to have theirs redone/touched up. Travis was a great guy, real professional, clean and did a perfect job on a tattoo that meant a ton to me. When I get my 2nd tattoo, I would like to go back to him. Sick artist. read more
