I have never loved anything in life, like I loved my dog. Her passing was emotional and I create reminders of her whenever possible. My house is fully decorated with her images and my phone and watch also cycle photos of her angelic face. When I was in L.A. last spring, several artist at Venice Beach were offering specials for simple tattoos. Unfortunately, the combination of limited time and an inability to research the shops kept me from getting art. Coming to Vegas, I thought this would be another great opportunity to get a solid tattoo for a reasonable price. I called and emailed shops and 2/3 wouldn't quote me unless I sent them scale artwork. I explained there is no artwork, I want her name and the years she was alive. That was a total of 12 characters and I envisioned her name taking the space of a fortune cookie fortune and the years combined taking the same. Simple, easy and the only factor was the font, but again, I'm agreeable. The two shops that gave me quotes basically told me, "No problem, but our shop minimum is $175-$200. Your work sounds like less, but those are the prices". Now if Koolsville can do a $10 tattoo, certainly something of my scale should qualify for a discount. When I reached out to Illuminati, I was told the shop minimum was $100 and I was encouraged to come in. Lou took excellent care of me. He not only gave me the 12 characters for the shop minimum, but he touched up an existing tattoo of mine for no charge. Come on bro! If there is such a thing as a tattoo lottery, I WON IT. I now have my angel on my arm and received the warmest possible welcome to Las Vegas. This appears to be a shop that will earn your business, your positive review and trust. In general, I'm not a tattoo fan, but I will happily tell anyone I know headed to Vegas, if they are in the market for ink, look up Lou. read more

The tattoo itself came out good, and the vibe was cool at first. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely once it came time for payment. We were given different payment instructions multiple times, even after payment had already been sent. Instead of handling the confusion professionally, the communication became rude and disrespectful. Customers should not be insulted or blamed over a payment issue, especially when screenshots and proof were provided. The tattoo work may be good, but professionalism and customer service matter too. By the end, the whole situation felt unorganized and unprofessional. read more

Hef was really rad and responsive when I found the Instagram stories showing that they were doing some quick sale when we were young tattoos which I had been putting off for a couple years. I ended up booking with her unofficially since they were first come first serve and got two with color through her. Both came out really rad and were very fairly priced for the size and color. The price she gave me in terms of rain was about a hundred bucks each but of course I tipped her as the work was great and she made it as painless as possible. My piercer Nate was super nice and traveled from another shop to pierce my navel, however I was given a small bar which was an issue apart of my healing process. I am a bigger girl and I also didn't use the right cleaning solution at first but regardless, I had a 11mm bar and I switched mines out myself to a 14mm because the ball started embedding in my skin. It's healed great with the right solution. I wouldn't go again because my navel was $80 and other places I could've gotten it cheaper with better care to my body anatomy. I ended up paying $100 for my piercing for having buying my own things to replace it and the original price in total. I feel if you just need to speak up about the things you want here or it's going to be whatever they want and not what's going to be best to you. read more

My wife and I went to Vegas for our 15 year wedding anniversary and heard such great things about this studio that we figured we had to go here. Well my tattoo was good but my wife's after 3 years was garbage and almost unreadable. We were charged 500 bucks for less then 2 hours worth of work combined. The artist was more interested in leaning on her boobs. I can't say if they guy is still working there, but his art was shit. Mine was good but I did not have tits to feel. Different artist. The environment is friendly and clean. They don't take appointments but there were several artists there so we were helped immediately once we arrived. Great experience at Illuminati Tattoo. I came in with 3 other friends and we all got different tattoos, but all on the smaller side. They all treated us well from start to end. A mean a gaggle of middle aged suburban moms came barreling in, in the middle of the days and no one treated us like we were (are) morons. Tyler did all our tattoos. We all gave him ideas and then he drew them out. I liked that he didn't want to just do something someone else has done, as he doesn't want to steal other artists work. 2 friends and myself had been talking about matching tattoos for sometime and decided to bite the bullet. Looking for a shop that was still open and took walk ins we came across Illuminate. We were greeted by Cheyenne who was so nice and friendly. After he drew up the tattoo and we picked our sizes he then stated that Brad was going to do two of the three since my friend was also going to get a retouch done on a previous tattoo. Brad took myself and my friend to his station and just seemed uninterested in the whole thing. I get it, 3 girls coming into a tattoo shop for matching friend tattoos at midnight is what dreams are made of, right? We weren't obnoxious, we were just happy that we found somewhere to do them and realize this probably isn't why these guys started doing what they do but hey, we are still paying customers. He finished my friends tattoo quickly and slapped some covering on her and it was my turn. After what seemed like 3 minutes, he got pizza delivered and said he was finished. While we was getting his pizza, I looked at my tattoo and there were parts missing, lines not connected to other lines and it just wasn't finished. When he came back I told him and asked for him to fix it, "oh ya I see what I missed". It's not like it was a large tattoo, and this is something that is permanent so I would have appreciated a little more effort. He spent about the same amount of time "fixing" the tattoo as he did initially doing it. I am now left with blown out and messy lines. My friend also had a huge air bubble in her saniderm and was starting to bleed and it just looked real awful, she asked Brad if he could just switch it out and he refused. On the other hand, my friend drew the lucky straw when Cheyenne tattooed her. He was attentive and made sure to tell her he was taking his time because he wanted it to look great. Her tattoo was A+, chefs kiss, all the things. Even the next day looking at all our tattoos together, you could tell the difference between the artist who cared and the one who just wanted our money. It was super disappointing. I will say that this place was very clean and the artist do take great care in sanitation which was the only silver lining for my experience. Long story short, if you come here ask for Cheyenne because he is a delight and will take care of you. read more
