Piercer (Charlie) did not show me the placement before inserting the needle abruptly and without warning, so I am unhappy with the placement and did not know that I would not have a chance to change it. He also pierced with a smaller gauge than what is normal for this piercing and used what looks like a lobe earring with a butterfly backing instead of jewelry that supports healing/swelling better. Came into the shop with my best friend on a spontaneous trip to the piercing and tattoo parlor I had been wanting to get my double nostril piercing so that I can get some cute bridge charms and she's been wanting to get her septum. I really want to give Diversity 5 stars, but the wait time is just excruciating. I think that they need at least one more tattoo artist on staff. I think my friend and I went there on a Sunday afternoon. It was one person doing tattoos and another couple of people working at the register or helping with drawing the work. Everyone here is super nice, it is just that they do not have enough people. We were told to come back at 4pm. We went to get lunch and came back at 4pm only to wait for a couple more hours. There were more people coming in for tattoos and piercings, but they were also told that there was a wait. I think there were others that returned to wait as well. You can't really rush perfection. I waited patiently and looked at the inventory of bongs, shirts, stickers, and jewelry. The girls patiently worked on our ideas as we waited. My friend had to resize hers a couple of times while I tried to figure out which snowflakes I wanted with my dog paws. I finally concluded that a couple of snowflakes were ticking me off and they could not be included on the work. The artist (I think his name is Daniel) was very sweet and said he would turn the dots into "twinkle stars." I really loved this idea and these are the best part of my tattoo. I love that he put white ink in the middle of the flakes and stars. The artist did some really impressive work. I would love to come here again because they are right down the road from where I live. I probably need to bring something with me like crochet or writing while I wait. read more

I've come here a few times for piercings, they've all been done by the same lady. But she left and I decided to come back and get a few piercings for my birthday. I had it done by some heavily tattooed guy there, he didn't mark where my conch was going and unexpectedly shoved the needle through my ear. So I went through the pain for a piercing I'm not even happy with. on top of that they were pushing me to put a hoop in a fresh piercing (HORRIBLE IDEA??). I also had my tragus done, and they put a literal earring in there. I was forced to take it out as there was no replacing it + it was already swelling into the earring. I will not be returning here. Incredibly unprofessional and putting clients at risk. If you don't have the jewelry for a piercing, i beg of you to refuse to do that piercing. read more

I had to try a stencil first just to see if I could psychologically deal it, so I wore it to Diversity and met Daniel who made me feel very confident with no pressure. I had it done. We all hear a lot about "you get what you pay for" cuz there's some hacks out there. Well you get more than you pay for! We had a good experience today with Seth. My grand daughter and I both got piercings done. Two bellies and one nose. Seth was very patient and knowledgeable. He explained about the different metals and how our bodies may react to them. I have a lot of scar tissue from previous surgeries and my body has rejected a belly ring before. It pushed it right out of my body. Seth told me why that happened and how to prevent it from happening again. He offered to change the piercing from a surgical steel to a titanium ring. Should I have any problems. He was very patient with my granddaughter. It was her first piercing, she also got her nose pierced. We found a place to be clean and staff was professional. We drove 30 minutes across town (took out cash because she said the systems are down for credit and debit) and we walked in and said we are here for our piercing, we made an appointment earlier. She said oh he left, she said she did not tell him that we were coming at 830pm and said "can we come tommorrow". I have been coming to this diversity for about 5 years now and have loved every experience I've had with Seth, but on 9/30 I came in for a conch piercing and unfortunately Seth wasn't there, but Daniel/Danny was. Since Seth has always done an amazing job with my piercings I assumed Daniel would too, but unfortunately I was wrong. My conch was extremely botched and placed incorrectly. My ear was punctured in 3 different places and my piercing was tilted upwards. So much pain, just to have to take it out and do it all over again. Super nice on the phone told me when the piercer would be working until. I went 30 minutes before he left for the day. The piercer was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Very fast in and out within 20 minutes. He went over the after care instructions thoroughly. The girl at the counter was also very friendly. Great customer service!!!! I recently left a crappy abusive relationship wherein, among other areas of control, this person told me what I "better not" do with my own body such as getting tattoos or a nose ring. Women with nose rings run in my family, it's almost a cultural thing. My mom had one until the day she left this world and one of my connections that I wanted was a nose ring like hers. Sure, I'm older but so what! It's my body and I pierce if I want to. Needless to say, he is kicked to the curb and as a celebration I went to Diversity after leaving my corporate law office (LOL) and I rolled down to Rancho and took the plunge. You have to fill out a small form and present ID (understandable - protections must be in order for a business so quit your whining Katherine). The lady is always super personable (I've been before, accidentally snatched nose ring out, had to return to redo). You never wait too long (at least at the evening rush hour times) and the price is reasonable. I was afraid at first, the big burly nice guy with the tats was going to jam a needle in my nose meat! Have I lost it man? I stayed the course. He was so nice and matter-of-factly as he felt it was best not to go into gory details of the procedure. Thank you for that. Just do it! I picked the spot, he marked it with a sharpie, verified it was where I wanted it, made changes in the direction I requested and then cleaned the area with alcohol pad and Bam! It's done. What the...? LOL It hurt for like 1/2 a second and it was over. The one tear (the gangsta tear he calls it) popped out of my eye but other than that I felt so empowered (sometimes it's the little things). The rings are super tiny and not gawdy and the back of them is pressed up against the wall of your inner nose as to not be ridiculous and showy - not like an earring back. It is very tasteful and I highly recommend these folks for the scarey cats (like myself) of the world. read more

Zero star would be more accuate. I took my son to get his ear pierced. Mark, the "professional" was absolutely horrible! I was appalled by his behavior. He told me to be a "better parent" as I snapped a quick pic of my son in his moment of excitement. He was quick to direct my eyes to a sign on his wall reading "no pics or videos". Mark went on further to tell me that when people take pictures he is more likely to "make a mistake". His "performance anxiety" was clear. However, it should not interfere with customer service. He could have been a little more human and spoke more kindly to me! I can only hope that Diversity will make sure this behavior is not repeated and will take notice of Mark's atrocious behavior. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR TATTOOS DONE HERE. I'll tell you a few reasons why. My girlfriend decided to get a tattoo and went to diversity. She showed the picture of what she wanted and Daniel one of the artist there was confident enough to take on the job of some simple writing. Well come to her surprise half of the writing isn't even legible. So me being the person I am I contacted the artist and requested a refund back. Well I'm pretty sure no artist wants to be contacted and told that their art wasn't up to par. But the disrespect I received on the phone from Daniel was unacceptable and unmatched, I was cussed out and told to never call again. So I immediately contacted the store in chance that they could refund a 200 dollar tattoo. But I could never get a straight answer. I kept calling everyday till finally. I get a response from the general manager stating "we don't do refunds, I can offer another artist to touch it up for free". You shouldn't have to fix a tattoo they should be done right the first time. If you come to this review and you're still stuck on finding a good artist. I have your back. Go to three arrows tattoos and ask for hunter blood he is a perfectionist and you will leave happy and won't have to get a touch up. So again DO NOT GET A TATTOO HERE ! read more
