I reached out to Revolt before coming to town. I described in great detail what I wanted. I was clear about 12 characters, the size and placement of the tattoo. The only variable I didn't define if the font. I assumed the tattoo artist would know best what would work. For some reason, they wanted me to provide artwork. I get it, you do a lot of work and everybody wants something different, but I just wanted a name and date, since the size was specified, the only thing left to debate was the type style. For some reason, they couldn't or wouldn't quote me, I was told that there was a good chance it would be the shop minimum, but they couldn't confirm and with it being 110 degrees, I didn't want to be shuffling up and down the strip when any competent shop should have been able to quote me in advance. That did in fact happen here, and when the people at Illuminati were clear and told me they would present me with font choice that didn't elevate their quote, I ended up using them. I have no idea how much money flows through Vegas, but when people come here, they come to spend. Pardon me if I like to know in advance what I'm spending. So unless Yelp has changed their policy that a review is a unique experience, I trust that this detailed account of Revolt satisfies the terms and conditions I agreed to. Planned a trip to vegas to celebrate my bday and was gonna get a tattoo for myself. For years, wanted one of my dog. After some research, came across Steve rivas' work. Went through the website to schedule a date. A bit of back and forth communication via email with people who worked the front desk. They served as the "middle man" between Steve and i. Sent a couple of reference photos as options, got a quote, and sent a deposit to lock in my spot. Didn't hear anything and felt kind of nervous going into the appointment. Particularly since I had expressed being unsure about getting the tattoo on my back or my forearm. The shop is in a mall, with large windows for people to look in and see. If youre getting a tattoo in an intimate spot, theyll put privacy screens around you. There's even screens to, I assume, peruse the work of artists. I expected to have a conversation with Steve about the placement and maybe see some stencil imagery to help narrow my decision. Ultimately, he verbally told me that the best placement was my thigh. I did see a visual look of how it would come out on my forearm. His reasoning was to not lose any detail and my preference of being able to see the tattoo. I trusted him because he's the professional but because I didnt consider that area previousl, it was tough to accept. Even after getting my tat, I still wondered if it was the best area to put it on. Should I have gone with the back placement? Should i have asked to put it higher on my thigh? Spending more time with me, the client, on the placement details and visual of it may be have allowed me to come to terms with it. Steve was a chill guy to chat with as I got the tattoo. It was almost a 6 hour process so great to be able to converse easily with your artist or to hear the camaraderie with the other artists and staff. They don't have a restroom in the shop so had to walk to the closest store in the mall. I'd recommend offering water or snacks to clients that are there that long. Ultimately, his artistry was unquestionable. I look at my tattoo and I feel like I am looking at my dog. Getting work done by him was worth the discomfort. His artistic skills would be rated a 10/10 by me. read more

A buddy of mine had gotten a tattoo from BJ and it was enough convincing for me to schedule an appointment for a quarter sleeve with him. At the day of the appointment, BJ was thorough and made me feel comfortable the entire time. He's such a cool guy and super easy to talk to. We took a few 5 minute rest breaks to stretch out during the 6-7 hour session and he checked in on me throughout the session to make sure I was doing okay. The final piece came out so beautifully and I couldn't have imagined a better way to honor my late grandma. I am so happy with my new tattoo. It's all thanks my wonderful artist, Jackie! I was on the hunt for a tattoo spot here that met all my requirements: clean, professional, easily accessible, and had a woman of color artist on staff. Revolt checked all those boxes. The request process was easy and I was able to have my consultation with Jackie at the shop. I had a vision of having sunflowers being the focal point, but allowed Jackie to take artistic liberties for the rest of the design. I'm happy I did! A heads up, if you plan to get a thigh tattoo, it will require multiple sessions. I broke mine into two sessions back to back to push through lol. This is my second experience with this shop and trying to talk with Joey. Went in right at opening with a quick two minute question. I know he saw me and my husband but he always kept avoiding eye contact. His assistant told him I was waiting to ask a question. He was working with someone for their appointment that day so I did not mind waiting. But again not a glance, a hello, or even a head nod to acknowledge my existence in his presence. Then....someone came up and asked a simple question to someone at the counter. Joey's head pops up and he starts to chime in. Stopes what he is doing and goes over to give his input. Talks for a few then goes back to what he was doing. Whole time walking right by my husband and myself with no "hello" or "be right with you". So we wait some more and he finished what he was doing, then takes the client over and starts setting him up to work on him. I had a two minute question at max!!!!! I will never go back to a shop where the artist charges $2000 a day and takes their customers for granted. Just because you have a talent don't loose your head. There are other talented people out there too and one of them will now get my business. Go somewhere you will get respect guys. read more

The whole process to reserve my appointment and to submit my art work was seamless.
