Regarding availability, I tried to reschedule my appointment before I moved at the end of 2015 but they were scheduling for at least 3 months out. I didn't know what a reasonable cost for cleanings was, but now that I have been in CA and have insurance, the cost I have paid with this practice ($220?) seems high. In my opinion, nothing about the practice really justified the cost or difficulty scheduling - especially since they don't have nitrous for anxious patients like me.

My dentist referred me to Dr Corcoran to have them removed, so I called and made an appointment for consultation. I was able to get in the same week, and the receptionist patiently explained all the location and time options I had. I was nervous about my consultation. I had never had any kind of surgery in my life, and I didn't know how much damage my wisdoms were in for. Dr Corcoran came in, and assuming he's met many nervous patients, he immediately calmed my nerves with a few awesome dentist jokes. He showed me the X-ray, explained everything that would be done, and I left feeling great about it. I got on board, and scheduled the real appointment for a couple weeks later. Fast forward to today; I had all four wisdom teeth removed, 1 of which was impacted, the rest simple extractions. I got the works with the laughing gas and the general anesthesia, and when I woke up an hour later, huzzah...no wisdom teeth. Surprisingly, I am in no pain despite having taken only 2 Advil right after the surgery. The numbness has gone away, and I have some swelling on the impacted side, but no pain. Huh. Dr Corcoran even called me at 9pm to see how I was doing. He noted that I sounded awfully chipper, and expressed that I should continue to take care of my wounds, even with no pain. How incredibly thoughtful of the guy to call me long after the workday is over, to make sure I wasn't dying or allergic to the antibiotics. My husband said that right after surgery I told him, "Gosh I feel great, I wish I felt this way all the time!" I think that means Dr Corcoran is doing something exactly right.

After the confrontation, we went over the billing to my insurance and the lady said this is all the doctor will do and this is what your insurance will pay. Stupid of me to believe a person is able to do their job but she explicitly left out big charges such as removal of a tooth, consultation charges and other miscellaneous charges. My interesting is that it cannot be this colossal of a mistake and she purposely did this to show me lower charge. After completing the surgery they bill me and guess what, they added major items, like removal of the tooth they were supposed to get out along other items. On top of that, i called the billing department and the lady lied to my face saying this was all billed to the insurance during the consultation and she will send me the proof. What she sent me is proving they did not send the full charges to the insurance. There's a bunch of good doctors out there and this one is not worth it just because of their incompetent billing department in the arlington office.

I told them this is all new to me and I'm just trying to figure it all out and make sure I'm doing everything right. they told me several times that it would be covered. again, it wasn't at all. the dental assistants were very nice but the dentist was incredibly rude and rough. I had pain in my jaw for a month after. when I left I asked them if all the payments were done and they said yes. but I was wrong. they will do unnecessary treatments to bleed your wallet dry. I can't believe how stupid and taken advantage I was.

I got 3 teeth done and went to two other dentists for a second opinion on the other 7. Both said they only saw 1 cavity. One even told me she looked extra hard for more because of what I told her. They both said that there are some places with a potential for a cavity but why do a filing unless there is one! I got to say I felt super gypped by them. They knew I didn't have insurance and still pushed for such aggressive dental work. Also, their rate was almost double the other dentists. I will say that they seem to be very nice and caring. They took really good care of me and didn't make me feel ashamed for having multiple cavities. They mentioned that their prices are higher because they go first rate for everything.

The dentists were nice (minus Schoeb who was aggressive and condescending) but I went through many traumatic procedures and painful root canals to only have my crowns crack or fall off when flossing months later. I have since been to two other dentists who were horrified by the work that had been done and I'm in the process of having all my previous crowns and work re-done. Don't go here if you think you might have even a cavity. They will turn it into a whole procedure you don't need and squeeze all the money out of you.
