The host is very friendly and engaging, and really makes everyone feel comfortable. They also provide a very nice breakfast buffet with a variety of options, including gluten free. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again when we come back.

When the Woodley Park Guest House livingsocial deal came up, we did a bit of research on the place and then decided that it sounded like a greta place to stay. This B&B is ranked #2 in DC on tripadvisor's website (#1 is owned by the same company) and I can totally see why they have such excellent ratings. The B&B is exactly what I was looking for. Right on a metro line (red about a block away, unless you take the elevator which is even closer) and had a number of things to do within walking distance. We arrived around 3pm on a Thursday and checked in and was given a quick tour of the place. Our room was the bay window room on the second floor. It was quite nice. After we checked in we went for a stroll around the zoo (three blocks up the road on the right). Then headed down towards Dupont Circle and got some great coffee (Filter) and some gelato! Then took the metro back. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was super helpful. We spent every night out on the porch drinking some wine (part of the livingsocial deal) and people watching. This is in a very safe part of town and all around nice. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! My only complaint is that the boy and I like to sleep in and the walls are pretty thin so we could hear other guests knocking on the doors and talking, but that was a very minor issue.

Great location, about 3 blocks from the northern escalator at Du Pont Circle. Plenty of room to spread out, it was just my wife and I but 6 could get cozy in here and 4 could be comfortable. TV, free wireless internet, excellent location and a pleasant hostess. The basement apartment is self sufficient, so we did not have the "bed and breakfast" experience of sharing, but that's OK for us.. We had our own full bath, our own exterior entrance, etc. Rates vary, but this was such a better deal than any hotel room, how can you go wrong?

Our host, Dana, was very friendly and, since our sight-seeing plans were kind of up-in-the-air, gave us lots of good advice on places to go and things to see. The room was really cute and clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable -- one of those adjustable tempurpedic mattresses. I'm not sure if every room has one or if it was just our room, but it sure made it hard to want to get out of bed. There is free wi-fi and continental breakfast downstairs in the morning. This place is a great alternative to the pricey hotels around DC -- it has a private, relaxing feel and yet is close enough to the Metro that it is also pretty convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

I have been here several times prior with my…read morelocal family including the Easter and Mother's Day Brunches, when we did enjoy our dining experiences in the past. I reserved the 12 PM Sunday Easter Lunch this year for my family of nine for $890.40, including seven adults and two elementary school children or a total of nine. It was raining quite heavily during our drive down. Luckily when we arrived a little before noon the rain had changed to a light drizzle. Needless to say the weather was not good on Easter Sunday. We parked our vehicle. The atrium was a short walk from the parking lot. When we checked into the atrium entrance we were immediately directed to our table for nine. Luckily they had some coat racks so we could hang our rain gear. The bar was set up outside the pavilion. Six fluted champagne drinks paired with peach, pear and pomegranate were available for $12 each. I enjoyed my two glasses of Roget champagne for $12 each. Complimentary canned carbonated drinks were provided to our two elementary school children. The prime rib was decent, but the lollipop lamb chops were too tough. My other family members also complained about the tough lollipop lamb chops. I only ate one. I enjoyed the snow crab claws the most. My cupcake and small mousse were acceptable. We departed before the next 2 PM lunch reservations arrived. The restrooms are located outside of the atrium up a staircase, which was not convenient. Overall our family of nine and I did not think that this Easter Day lunch was not worth $100 per person excluding alcohol. We will not return here for either Easter or Mother's Day brunch/lunch in the future. Also because of the poor rainy weather an egg hunt was not included. I found another yelper Brandon, who attended the same lunch as my family. Brandon immediately posted a 1 star negative yelp review. Please read it for another customer's perspective of the same event. I found that reviews ranged from 1 to 5 stars so this place is not consistent in ratings. The variation in ratings seems to be due to whether you attended only a conference/housing event or other non-housing event such as Easter Brunch/Lunch. You can judge for yourself by reading all reviews and deciding if you want to visit here for an event. Don't get me wrong, but the natural grounds and pond here are quite nice. That is worth your visit. My review is mainly regarding the Sunday Easter Lunch.

Avoid Airlie's Easter Brunch. Truly awful. For $100 a person, you get budget hotel quality food…read morethat is mostly unappetizing, limited choices for kids, an eyeful of staff pulling drinks from Costco pallets of the small Tropicana juices, bad coffee, and wait staff that do not speak enough English to understand basic questions. When the staff brought the coffee carafe, I asked if they had any espresso drinks. The woman looked confused, and motioned to pour drip coffee. I tried again to ask if they had Americanos, Cappuccinos, etc. She tried again to motion pouring the drip coffee. I could tell she didn't understand the words, so I gave up and had the drip coffee. Nothing wrong with that, except for $100 a person or $500 for our table, that plus the budget hotel food had us all questioning what was going on. Then I tried to ask for the bathroom to another staff member and it went equally as poorly. I gave up again and walked around until I found it myself. If you spend $500 on a meal and you get what appeared to be a shoddily thrown together and unappetizing spread from Costco items (even the extra priced alcoholic drinks were made with the cheapest ingredients Airlie could get away with), no bueno. I couldn't tell if they were hurting budget wise and charged a premium for the cheapest product and labor to turn a profit, or if it was just badly managed, but five adults all agreed to never attend brunch here again.

This is a very very weird conference venue derived from failed college setting. Pros: The meeting room is nice (although freezing), and the rooms were fairly modern and clean. Cons. Venue-provided internet did not work in rooms. Signage curiously lacking throughout--took me 1/2 hour to locate my room in the very very small building because it was through a 'parlor' it didn't look like I was supposed to access. 'Food' served cafeteria style--if you like elementary school cafeterias with either frightened, uninformed or outright hostile (who grabs a yogurt out of the hands of a paying customer and then yells at her) staff, this is the place for you. Terrible wine in tiny plastic bottles inexplicably under lock and key. Oh, yeah, and the food was inedible besides. I won't even begin to discuss the highly depressing 'lounge'. I could go on, but there were )so many indicators of this place going belly-up soon (the advertised gourmet chef had obviously taken leave long ago), that it may not be worth it.

I was just here for a conference for 3 days & 2 nights, so I feel like I would have a good sense of…read morebeing here. I'll start off with the positives. This place has very basic lodging. Think Motel 6 in terms of quality, with a little bit better beds (although the iron & ironing board was better than some 5 star places!). It also was considerably cheaper than nearby competitors, although none had capacity when we were in town. The park like setting is very serene, and the pub/rec room and gym at the bottom of building 4 was great especially since that's where we stayed. The conference center itself was pretty good, with some minor technical issues. It seems like the integration of the conference call lines and if you wanted to present for the entire room you'd seem to get weird audio glitches. Some glaring negatives though, and I'll just spout off the list with the rationale as part of them: 1. There is no 24 hour front desk here. Should you lose your key - or in my case arrive at 5 a.m. after a red-eye flight from the west coast, you're pretty much SOL. I ended up taking a nap in my rental car until someone from the front desk arrived at 8:30 a.m. 2. The food - although breakfast was decent - it just amazed me how terrible dinner was. I ate there the first night and decided to pass for the rest of the nights. It was definitely not worth even trying to stay for dinner. Unfortunately the better restaurants are a bit of a drive either over in Bethesda or Washington DC. You'll face a ton of traffic if you want to go and eat dinner on the earlier side. 3. Air conditioning - it was extremely hot when I was there, with temperatures well over 90 degrees and high humidity. The air conditioning struggled in my room the whole time and I was pretty much unable to sleep. This was the reason alone the last night I ended up checking into another hotel closer to the airport. At least I got sleep then. 4. The shower - I live in southern California and have stayed at a number of hotels here. Because of our perpetual water shortage, water pressure at hotels in the area I live in is laughable. This place had worse water pressure than that. I think they deserve an applause for this. Ladies with long hair (or guys - hey, equality!), you will spend 30+ minutes in the shower in the morning. There also was no hair dryer in my room, so be prepared to bring a travel one - I'm glad I did. 5. Parking - It'll be a bit of a trek. This is a minor gripe, but compared to many of the hotels nearby, you will get wet if it starts to rain. Reading back on my review the positives I mentioned weren't even that great. 2 stars is kind of a gift to this place. Avoid it unless you have no other choice. For some reason September is busy season in terms of conferences in the DC Maryland suburbs, so this place was even crowded when we were there. It's like a trip back to college - it just doesn't work the best for a professional setting. Nearby hotels offer much better conference centers & lodging - albeit much more expensive.

Comparing the value, quality, and location across other Georgetown properties - this place is a hand's down winner! Few points: 1. Comfortable bed, clean room. Locks 10 and 11 seem like they would be the best choice, other locks have common doors just outside your door, so you hear everyone coming / going and getting coffee, etc. 2. Nice little two-person outdoor patio set outside lock #10, very nice for sharing a night cap. 3. Others have commented about the absence of staff, I do agree this is off putting but everything seemed to work with a little 'figuring out'. 4. For example, checking in at the ATM like machine, which takes a $100 deposit - and provides a numerical key code to your room. It was unclear to me that code ALSO opens the front door just to the right of the ATM, and whether that door was the common entrance. 4a. Another reviewer also mentioned their deposit took longer than they expected to be refunded, I was surprised to see the deposit move to a charge vice dropping from 'pending charges', took the full 5 days to credit after I called - expect a delay, the refund is not instant. 5. On the coffee machine, it defaults to a 6oz pour. Override that and select 10oz - that fills the cup entirely and doesn't waste the Keurig grounds in the capsule. 6. Location could not be better, don't miss dinner at Clyde's or a dessert to go from Filomena's (Turtle and Strawberry cheesecakes are spectacular, all made in house). 7. Common area kitchen has a full size refrigerator with 11 labeled bins, each for a lock - nice to be able to chill a bottle of wine or other items as needed. Would stay again, thank you Georgetown House!
