It looked like…read morePaint Creek picks up a bit more during the summer, as neither the camp store nor the nature center were open when we stopped by, and the large campground only had a few spots in use. There are some great spots overlooking the lake, some with little decks, which looked really nice. The campground had a good playground with a variety of equipment, swings, slides, climbing structures, and more. There is also a horse-friendly section for camping. Near the camp store and nature center, we saw a small mini golf course, as well as disc golf. Paint Creek has a swimming beach and permits boating and fishing. There are trails for hiking, mountain biking, and bridle. The friendly staff at Rocky Fork State Park are able to stamp passport books for Paint Creek.

Nice air conditioned bathroom just outside kid playground. Lots of parking. Very clean and well maintained. It's also fenced in, which I know people with young and multiple kids would appreciate. There is a big lake right by it too so the playground being fenced in is a great safety measure. On really hot days the playground does get really hot though. The lake is a really nice and has a path around it. It's not huge, but still a nice place for some leisure activity. You can fish at the pond though. Lots of parking too. We will definitely be back to visit this park again.

If you paddle to the back of the lake on the campground side, the creek is gorgeous. There's a ton of wildlife like herons, turtles, eagles, and all sorts of fish for catch and release. The campground hosts several events throughout the season and has electric and non-electric but no full hook up. The camp store has everything you may need. Hike on one of the many clean trails or try a round of disc golf, it's a brand new trail and impressive!

The trail around the pond area is paved and easy to walk, and as you approach the far end, signage indicates access to an unimproved trail. There is nice seating near the pond, as well as a great overlook deck. What a great little park!

I came here because someone posted a picture of some birds that I wanted to photograph. Didnt see the birds I came for but there were some geese and turtles.. happened to see some snakes but that was just lucky. It's free to come here but if you want to fish i think you need a license or permit. There's a building right there with someone in a uniform. I think he might have been checking for fishing permits. We were the only one there without a fishing pole.

This state park that very much centers on the lake of its name, which offers both boating and…read morefishing opportunities. There's a boat launch area, where they are also currently constructing what looks like a boat house, and a couple of piers. Across the street from the boat launch are two parking areas and two picnic shelters, one uphill and one downhill. The downhill shelterhouse also has a nice playground nearby. Unless you are in a boat, this park feels a bit smaller than others, as there's not a lot to do on land. The views are very nice, however. It was foggy on our visit, which made for some fun photography!
