Andy was such a friendly person and we are truly grateful to have had him as our pilot. He welcomed us when we first arrived and then introduced himself to each of us in the group before takeoff. The safety video you have to watch before going on the helicopter was informational on what to expect and was quick & to the point. The views were breathtaking. I am so glad that we decided to do this tour. Takeoff was smooth as well as landing. We always felt super safe and Andy was informational on everything that we flew over. Truly such a spectacular guide & ride! 10000/10, I would do this all over again!

They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!

Since I don't have the kind of rugged job where I get to fly around rescuing seals or people or whatever, the dream came true in the form of a helicopter tour I arranged for my husband's birthday from SKY Helicopters. Their service lets you choose from an array of tours out of either Vancouver Harbour or Pitt Meadows Airport, and since it's just you and your party (up to three passengers) and the pilot, you can customize a bit. For our tour, I chose the North Shore/Howe Sound tour, which normally takes you in behind the mountains and through the Lions. The day I booked ended up being cloudy over the peaks, so our pilot Bryce took us up along the North Shore and around Cypress, up Howe Sound, getting amazingly close to the steep, forested mountainsides. I was also amazed to see how all those big mansions of West Van looked like miniature dollhouses and the cars on the highway all looked like toys. Coming back, we were able to spend a bit more time flying over Stanley Park and circling over downtown - which was great because part of the point of the trip was to get some shots of the city from the air with my husband's new GoPro. (If you're really serious about photography, they can even take the doors off, though I wasn't quite ready for that thrill on my first ride!) It was a little sad to touch down again after spending half an hour floating above the world, but the experience was great from start to finish, from the prompt response from Bryce on my initial inquiry through the website to all the emails, phone calls and texts keeping in touch about the itinerary and weather changes etc. (you never know out here!) to just taking us on a fantastic flight. I think we can all agree that Vancouver is a good-looking city surrounded by spectacular scenery. And it looks even more amazing from the air! I have experienced my city from a new angle, plus had a great subject for my 800th YELP REVIEW!!! The SKY is the ultimate high!

The highlight was…read moredefinitely our guide -- friendly, engaging, and clearly knowledgeable about the area, which made the ride more enjoyable. The tour itself was well-paced, offering a long, smooth journey through Whistler with plenty of scenic views. It was much more relaxing than I expected, and a really fun way to spend a day outdoors. That said, the bikes themselves could use some updates. They felt old, fairly heavy, and a couple had worn-down tires, which took away from the otherwise smooth ride. Some sections of the trail looped back on themselves, which made the route feel a bit repetitive at times. Overall, though, it was a good experience: beautiful landscapes, a laid-back atmosphere, and a guide who made the tour engaging. With some bike upgrades, this could easily become a five-star experience. Works out to be 150$/person for 2.5 hours. Maybe pricey for most but it is competitive pricing.
