Unfortunately they are in a transition so the menu online isn't the new menu. But the new menu isn't fully operational yet and they had part of the new menu available. We were at embassy suites and late night we were able to get a few sides and most of the other wait staff at the bar were fine but there is an middle to older age man that is just miserable. So he rudely said I needed to seat myself and he just had general disgust for no apparent reason. Hope the newer menu when it comes live is nice, so there a bit of a hope for this restaurant. The hotel otherwise is nice and it would be nice if the restaurant quality matched to it. The ambiance is over reasonably good and matches the aesthetic of the hotel. read more

The salmon was $46 and was dry and didn't taste good at all. The Caesar salad came out with a plastic container of dressing on the side and the green beans were oily and tasted like they were cooked with rancid oil. What a disappointment. read more

Dined here for dinner, and then twice for lunch as I stayed here for our meetings. The seating arrangement is a tad weird because it's a huge space. Ordered the parmesan crusted salmon with a side of asparagus and potatoes au gratin. It took forever to get our food, that the manager actually apologized. The wait was worth it as the food ended up being really good! I cleaned off my whole plate, and 3 drinks during that time! For lunch I ordered the shrimp po boy one day and a buffalo chicken wrap. Both were okay, not great. The chips would've been good but they covered the plates so they got soggy. We did order the potato chips with drinks one day and they're much better when they're fresh and warm, dipped in ranch. read more

Nice open atmosphere but retains that Convention Center Feel We were shopping nearby and had dined here before so we decided to give it another try. It's a nice place to dine particularly if you are staying at the hotel or attending a Convention. WiFi only works if you are one of the two. Beautiful decor and if the weather is right, good outside dining. As it was, it was in the'90's so we chose to stay inside. While it has a nice decor, it's somewhere between a Convention Center and a Sports bar in theme. Service is good and we were seated promptly and our server made sure we did not want for anything during our stay. After looked over the menu, I decided on the Broiled Crabcake Sandwich and my wife decided on the Half and Half with the Sandwich part being turkey. Not sure what her Soup selection was but she described it as being a bit bland. The Crab Cakes however were excellent, The fries that I had with it were a bit undercooked and had little taste or texture to them. On the whole, not bad but nothing outstanding. My wife did enjoy her turkey and indicated that it was very good. I would definitely recommend the Crab Cakes Sandwiches. My wife indicated that next time, she wanted to try them as well. read more

The food was okay. My only issue was there was hair in my food with two different plates. I went for restaurant week so i received three courses. My first course had a piece of hair on the plate, not my food however my dessert had hair coming out of the whip cream. The same short black hair, so someone in the back is not wearing a hair net which leaves me uneasy. I did not get an apology or anything which was also disappointing. My short rib was also not hot. Located inside the Embassy Suites you'll find a little restaurant called the Rocky River Grille. The service was excellent it was fast and friendly. The food was great; offer a good selection of food, and specials that change daily. I ordered fried green tomatoes which were very delicious and on point. I also go a steak cooked prefect and with an awesome Cherry Glazes that was to die for. The service area was clean and well maintained. Sited in a very nice Embassy Suites Hotel, this place was a disapointment. Went in on Tuesday evening@ 820p. Host stand was unstaffed. Place was crowded but there were empty tables. No obvious wait staff around, so we headed in to sit down. Simitaneously, I decided to check with the bar about whether the host/hostess was just away from their station. Bartender said "you can't order any food for the next 50 minutes. That wasn't going to work. Saw others I knew at other tables, they advised they had been waiting an hour for their food, and a new arrival at their table was told his order would not be ,taken for another 45 minutes, and it had been over 30 since he had sat down. We left. Later in response to complaints the Hotel said they were surprised by the number of people who came to eat, though they had to know they had two conventions in the hotel. Was there for a conference with no car, so kind of a captive. So we tried again Thursday for lunch around 1p. Less than 10 people at tables. Many tables were pushed together. Many of those combined tables had seating for 10-14 people but only had 1 or two accupants. Most tables were full of dirty dishes, even those occupied large table had dirty dishes on the other end. We found a 4 top table which was marginally acceptable and sat down. We again saw no wait staff, after 8 minutes, a bartender came over and asked if we'd like menus. She brought them over and took a drink order. She came back with the drinks, placing them out of easy reach, and took our order. We ordered salads which came out quickly, but a previously unseen person had initially walked by us with our food and checked with everyone else in the restaurant before coming to our table and asking if it was ours, again setting it just out of easy reach. We had to ask for utensils. Food was good. Service was lousy. read more

The waitstaff is friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean, but oddly set-up. It is very open, which gives it a cafeteria feel, instead of a cozy restaurant. Beer: The have a really small selection of draft beer and and even smaller selection of bottled beers. You can choose from one domestic or another domestic. Most of them are Pilsners or Lagers. At $8 a pop for a 12oz domestic draft, I didn't worry about the lack of variety and just didn't order one. We ordered: Honey-Habenero Wings for appetizer, which were very tasty. I ordered my hamburger Medium (I normally go Medium-Rare, but saw the previous review about under-cooked food) and it was Rare, almost Tartare. I didn't mind The temperature, because I'd anticipated it, but the burger was very under-seasoned and served with some platic cheese. Luckily, I had some blue cheese left-over from the wings to help add more flavor. My wife picked the Philly Cheese Steak, which looked like a hot dog bun filled with tasteless steak-ums. The fries were good, but over-salted. They serve some fancier foods , a few cuts of meat, and selections of fish from the sea. However, we'd have a hard time trying them for the price, considering the mediocre meal we had last night. Still, not a bad hotel restaurant and thank goodness it was open during the storm. read more

Don't go here. We are no longer visiting this place as our experience wasn't very good. The stab in the back is the Caesar salad. They mix Italian dressing with Caesar dressing (a 1 to 1 ratio). The end result is that you lose all the salty anchovy taste of a Caesar salad (they have no anchovies on this salad at all) and replace it with the sweet and vinegar of a cream Italian dressing. I sent it back and it was replaced free of charge with a passable blue cheese salad. Why does this matter? It sets the tone for everything else that is wrong. Too much complaining? The wait staff are competent and very friendly. Counterpoint: the entire evening ran slow taking almost 3 hours to have dinner. You will wait . . . and wait . . . and wait at this place. Someone sent their food back to have it heated up. We were in a group of 8, not small but not large right? It just didn't work out. My water glass spent a great deal of time empty. I had the rib-eye and it was fine. They overcook all the meat so expect medium rare to be medium (or at least 1/2 the way to medium). If you get it well done you will end up eating a dry rib-eye. The entire point of the rib-eye is the fat and resulting juices - be careful because you will be short on both. The desert is $8 and I had the cheesecake. It was the size and quality of one you get from Sam's club in the refrigerator aisle. Maybe slightly better but the same size. You also get a single strawberry and some whipped cream. Bacon wrapped jalapenos: dry. Bacon anything shouldn't be dry. It can be crispy, it can be salty, but it shouldn't be dry and this was. Not even a touch of pink on this - cooked brown towards black. read more

Had our 2nd visit to this establishment this evening. It has been a yearly tradition for my husbands company's leadership dinner. Only reason it's getting 2 stars is because the creme brûlée was delicious. Poor service. Cold food. 1 of our party ordered a drink when first arriving to finally be told an hour later they did not have it, and an hour later may be generous. We preordered and the server had all of our name and the dish ordered and she still couldn't figure out who got what, and by the time everyone had their plates food was cold and items missing. This was nearly the worst dining experience I've had while traveling. Seriously- just awful. I ordered at the bar and planned to take my food up to my room for a nice, quiet evening away from home. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for my food, I went back to my room. Once there, I was startled to find that it was not what I ordered. I asked for quinoa stuffed collards and a deconstructed peach pie. What was in my to-go bag were turkey wontons and chicken pot pie. ??? So I called down, and asked them to remake my order, this time actually making what I asked for. It was all very pleasant up to this point. I went back down to the bar and waited... and waited.... and waited.... it was an hour and a half after I placed my original order that I got what was supposed to be my food. I looked inside, saw quinoa and greens in one box, and melted icecream in another. OK, I wasn't happy, but I just wanted to eat my dinner. I get back to my room, icecream dripping all over everything in my bag, and I discover that what I have is not collards, but kale. It's not like I have anything against kale, but for Christ's sake! That was the last straw for me. I am so disappointed in my experience. Yes, they comped my meal, and I appreciate that, but this was just terrible. If you care about your time, getting what you order, or presentation, this place is not for you. Two additional notes here for context- It is Thursday night. I went there for lunch today and there were not many people there. We grabbed a table and our waitress brings us the new menu. She made a starter suggestion of the gravy fries. OMG - these were awesome. Be careful to share them because you may not be able to eat your meal when it arrives. I ordered the Chicken and Dumplings and the mixure of that sweet tea grilled chicken and the plentiful dumpling made it a perfect lunch. The only problem was there's was too much to eat - for me. I've visited Rocky River Grille several times with my husband for dinner. After one bite of their burger - I was hooked! The restaurant is a hidden gem in the Embassy Concord. There is a separate bar area, which is nice if you want to watch TV - the restaurant side is fairly casual-mod, they even set all the tables for dinner with chargers. The service can be hit or miss. The steakhouse sides are also hit or miss - the roasted asparagus was amazing, but the cowboy grits and bacon and mushroom mac & cheese were just so-so. But I don't care about the service or the sides - just give me another burger! They are huge and juicy and cooked perfectly. Burgers are $9-10 - and totally worth every cent. Follow them on Facebook, they put up specials from time to time (like free draft beer if you wear a jersey during football) and they also participate with restaurant.com. read more

Only people in there at 6pm. Ordered filet medium rare it came well done took 27 minutes for new steak to arrive they did not put new fries or asparagus on plate they came back out cold. Also steak was lukewarm. The burger was tough. Had to ask for bread and waiter had to see if they had any. Ordered creme brulee waiter had to check to see if they had any did not always. It was a terrible dessert and not creme brulee. We eat out 2 to 4 times a week. We will not be back and will tell our friends and family. We have stayed at embassy suites dozens of times for both business candy pleasure and this is the only time we had such terrible food we felt badly for our server who was fantastic and clearly embarrassed. read more

This was our second time to this hotel for business. The first time we went to the bar and it wasnt busy at all. We felt like we were bothering the bartender and service was horrendous. Second time, a year later, we went into the restaurant for lunch. It took 1 hour for our food to come, 3 times we had to ask for a sugar caddie for the iced tea, and our order came out wrong. Overall, it took them 90 minutes to serve a lunch that should of been 30 minutes. If your service is this bad, no one should eat here no matter how good the food is. Any restaurant that takes Christmas Eve reservation 27 days in advance for your son's 16th birthday then emails on Dec 20th to say they won't be open is never getting my service. So not cool. We went for lunch and we happen to be the only people in there after the other party was finishing up their lunch. The one server was very nice and obviously very efficient. We ordered two appetizers and two entree and the food was very good. Not great. The salmon we had was a little over cooked and the crab cakes were a little bland on flavor minus the aioli sauce. I would go back again and would get those awesome jalapeño poppers again. The wings we had were good but no different then you could get at Pizza Hut. I am being a little critical but the food was still good. I was a little disappointed in the number of side available too. Been twice within the last couple of months for meetings and have been less than impressed each time. I will give them credit, the house made chips are good, but please make your own ranch dressing. It really isn't that difficult and taste much better than your pre-packed ranch. Second time around, I tried the black bean burger with green beans. The green beans were very good, but the black bean burger was nothing but a frozen veggie patty. No black beans at all in it. For the amount that you pay for their food, you would think the quality would be much better. In the future, I'll just wait to eat dinner when the meeting is over. read more

Had the worst experience today and feel as though I wasted time, money and energy visiting this place today. Some friends of mine have been raving about the quality meal they've had here during their past two visits here. So yesterday (Saturday 7/21/18) while we were all at a wedding I called the restaurant to make a reservation for about 12 of us to come. It's the Queen's Feast here in Charlotte so this was listed as an option. I spoke with a representative (I can't recall her name) at 5:24pm to make the reservation. She advised that the main seating area of the restaurant was closed on Sunday's (red flag) but that our left could be accommodated in the lounge. I asked her what time the dinner service starts and she advised that it normally starts at 5. I then asked if it would be a problem for our party to order from the dinner menu at 3pm (our reservation time). She stated that she didn't feel that would be a problem and that she would note "in the system" that we wanted the dinner menu. She also took my phone number should they need to call about any issues. So today we arrive at 3pm to a near empty lounge (3 people including the bar tender) to be informed that they could accommodate our party for several reasons. They said the chef would not be in until 4 to prepare the dinner menu. Since our reservations was at 3 we elected to order appetizers and wait for dinner to be prepared (the initially offered a 15% discount then eventually gave us the appetizers for free). They came back later to tell us (after new shift came in) that our meal order could not be put in until 5pm (2hours after our reservation). This is when they decided to change the appetizers to free and take back the 15% offer. We waited for our food to arrived around 5:30/45. I ordered the veal chop. The special $35/person for 3 course meal for Queens Feast. This came with a salad which was my first course choice and some chocolate mousse which was my third course option. The meals come with the chefs choice of starch and vegetable. After waiting soooo long for service I was sure the side would be to die for. NO the chef prepared yellow rice and broccoli for the sides. My food was cold when my plate finally got to me as was my wife's who ordered the steak. All of the other guest had the same concerns for their meals. We elected for the sake of time and not to ruin the remainder of the meal just to power through the very mediocre (less than mediocre) meal. This was THE WORST experience overall I've had eating out especially at a restaurant that purports to be luxurious and fine dining. It was defiantly neither of those things. My family left and decided to go and purchase food to cook for dinner to actually have a mea. I'm very disappointed that we even had to pay this bill. The waitress was very apologetic and I left her a generous tip. The table spent nearly $500 of very subpar food and this is despicable. I wouldn't eat here even if I was staying at the hotel. We could've had a much better time at Hooters right next door and probably better steaks. read more

Firstly I have to say that the food tasted good and I ate everything. That being said, the steak was very well done and was ordered medium. The side dish was not what was on the menu. It called for risotto and we were served stuffing. The desert was supposed to be pineapple cheesecake but, instead it was a raspberry cheesecake with about a tablespoon of pineapple topping on one edge. The service was good. The drinks were good. In no particular order - - waited for 40 minutes for salads while restaurant was very slow - wedge salad was a chopped salad - waiter filled wine glass to rim and did not offer a tasting prior - signature 3 finger pork chop was very bland for 48 hours of marinating - signature prime rib was gray and very bland - service was extremely slow and impersonal Based on their website you'd believe you are going to a 4 star restaurant to "indulge" - don't be fooled.
