My vehicle broke down on I40 as I was driving through the area on my way to FL. I had it towed to the dealership on a Sunday then went in early Monday morning. I was greeted by Kenny at the service desk. He took great care of me and kept me informed of progress the entire time. Being from out of town with a broken down vehicle can be nerve wracking. They were able to determine it was the fuel pump. Luckily I had the extended warranty so Kenny took care of everything after that. I rented a vehicle and loaded up my stuff and continued on to FL dropped it off and returned the end of the week. They were able to fix my vehicle the following day and even addressed a recall item that was due. Beware of the Service Department at Rocky Top Jeep Dodge Chrysler As a local business owner, I typically like to support other businesses in the area--but after my repeated experiences with Rocky Top's service department, I feel obligated to warn others. Last year, I brought in a vehicle for warranty work due to corrosion and paint issues. They outsourced the repair to a third party, who painted the doors the wrong color. To make matters worse, someone smoked in the vehicle and burned a cigarette hole in the front seat. It took over a month, but they did eventually make it right--so I decided to give them another shot. I brought in another vehicle for a simple oil change. They claimed the oil cap was stuck and needed to be forced off. Not long after, the vehicle began pouring oil everywhere. I was told the oil cooler was bad--though I believe it was cracked when they forced the cap off. Despite the vehicle being out of warranty, they did help with some of the cost. When I picked it up, it was spewing antifreeze and water over the engine. A radiator hose had been left loose, and they later admitted the radiator drain had been broken by the tech--so they replaced the radiator. A short time later, the vehicle began to idle roughly and threw codes for running lean. I opened the hood and found several hoses not reconnected from the prior oil cooler job. I took it back again, paid another $200 diagnostic fee, and they reattached the hoses--but claimed they couldn't find the rough idle. Now, I'm once again getting codes for misfires and running lean--all after they claimed everything was fixed. The service manager is now blaming the lift kit (which has been on the vehicle the entire time with zero prior issues). All of this mess started from a basic oil change. In short: this service department lacks attention to detail, takes no accountability, and causes more problems than they solve. Proceed with caution. read more

Absolutely Dishonest & Unethical - Beware Our experience with this dealership was nothing short of infuriating and deeply disappointing. While in the middle of a military move from Alabama to Virginia, our truck broke down while hauling our horse and trailer. We were stranded in Tennessee, in a desperate situation, with a horse stuck in the trailer for nine hours. The truck needed a part ordered, which would take days, so we made the difficult decision to purchase a new truck to avoid being stranded. The salesman told us the trade-in for our truck couldn't be finalized until it was fixed but assured us they use Kelley Blue Book for trade-in values. He even walked us through the KBB value range, stating our trade-in would fall within that depending on condition. He couldn't give an exact number but led us to believe the valuation would be fair. Several days later, after the truck was repaired, they called to say they were not interested in taking it at all. They flat-out lied to our faces when we were at our most vulnerable, telling us whatever they needed to get us into a new truck and out the door. When we spoke to the GM the next day, he suddenly "was" willing to take the trade -- for nearly $15,000 less than the lowest Kelley Blue Book value, then admitted they don't actually use KBB for trade-ins. In other words: the salesman misled us entirely, and the dealership took advantage of a military family in a crisis. We ended up selling the truck to Carmax with a quick and easy transaction for a lot more than the dealership offered. The only positive note is that the service department was excellent and treated us well. Unfortunately, the sales side operates with blatantly unethical practices, and I would never recommend buying a vehicle here. If honesty, integrity, and transparency matter to you -- look elsewhere. read more

I am extremely upset with this dealership. I took my 2019 Jeep Rubicon here because the check engine light was on. They said they needed to replaced radiator hoses and flush the system. Well, apparently, the Rubicon turbo has 3 reserviors for the coolant, one that is just for the turbo. They did not fill that reservior up at all. A few weeks later the vehicle started acting really bad, not to mention the check engine light came on immediatelt after leaving. I have my Jeep at a completely different dealership. They are the ones that noticed the reservior was not filled at all. Now my turbo is damaged beyond repair. I can't even get in touch with the Service Manager. He won't answer or return my calls. I am a single woman with my Jeep being my only transportation to work. I don't know what I'm gonna do. read more

I was convinced by a sales person that they would not do a hard inquiry, but a soft inquiry. Surprise, I should know better. After I called him out on that hard inquiries, they brought me a piece of paper to sign basically saying that I knew about it ahead of time. Now I have multiple hard inquiries. I took in a truck that has a pump going out on it. They denied service to me due to a aftermarket part for fuel system that refilters fuel and only used it due to the part I was needing was on back order and I told them this. The part I used said DOES NOT VOID FACTORY WARRANTY. And with the Magnuson Moss act, it's ILLEGAL TO VOID OR DENY WARRANTY due to aftermarket or used parts. I told them this and the manager in the service department proceeded to admonishingly say to me, "let me educate you". He is rude and disrespectful and thinks he is smarter than others. Let me tell you, mister service manager, I've owned a business for 23 yrs and you are a liability to the company you work for. I may see my attorney. Your the one that needs educated. Learn to treat people better and your reviews wouldn't be here. And for the record, this only review I've ever left and it's due to how Mr. Service manager treats people. The local Dodge Dealer had such bad reviews and the service rep was very rude and unhelpful. The rep at Rocky Top was very polite, and very helpful. I really wish I would have read the reviews before I sent my vehicle here for repairs. car is under warranty so they would get paid! I was told my warranty claim was denied that it didn't cover since someone put aftermarket part, my battery needed changing $400.00 and that my oil leak was not covered and that my gears were not shifting due to my battery???? oh and whining trans is normal!!! I'm not an idiot!! . after all this I provided paperwork that the oil leak issue was fixed by a certified shop previously and to submit the claim again. well, they then came back to me asking for the phone number to call for the warranty?????? My review is more on the service side of this dealership. My family and I were in Tennessee for a vacation, when I lost my truck key in Dollywood. With little to none in options, we decided to call this dealership since it was a Dodge truck just to see if they could help. I'm so glad that I did! We towed the truck to their dealership to have a key made, but they went over and beyond by loaning us a courtesy vehicle until the next day (when the key would be ready.) I expected the cost of this CRAZY EVENT to put a quick end to our family vacation, but it did not at all. Thanks to their help and kindness, we were able to continue our vacation without worry. I called the dealership and ask what the price and availability of a trailer hitch receiver for my vehicle. I was quoted $1932 and some change. They will not sell just the hitch receiver you must pay to have it installed. Breakdown of charges: $1932 less the cost of the hitch and tax $252 or $1680 for labor to have it installed. The instructions manual states "Install Time: 1 hour". I will give the benefit of the doubt and say 2 hours. This dealership is charging $840 per hour for labor. What a rip-off. I called the dealership back and ask the receptionist for the general manager. What an attitude; however, the general manager has the same poor attitude. Guess with bad attitudes come loss of business and with loss of business comes high labor costs. Recommend going elsewhere for repairs or get 'taken to the cleaners'. read more

On our second day of our vacation two weeks ago, my front strap on my gas tank broke on my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. I had just filled my gas tank, so it was very heaving and was only secured by the back strap. The front of the tank was hanging down, just barely off the ground. We had to call AAA to have the truck towed. Fortunately, we broke down near a Jeep rental facility so we were able to rent a Jeep. Talk about bad luck and good luck at the same time! We needed a four-wheel drive vehicle to get back to our rental cabin which was located on top of a mountain. The truck was towed to the nearest Dodge dealer in Sevierville which was Rocky Top Dodge. The following morning, I called Rocky Top Dodge and spoke to a Dodge Service Rep. who stated he was too busy to get the truck fixed this week. I told him I was on vacation and was scheduled to leave on Saturday and was hoping there was something he could do to get the truck fixed. I am basically stuck. He said to call back, he was going to have someone look at the issue. I called back and he proceeded to tell me they could not fix the problem. He stated the gas tank straps needed to be welded and they did not do that type of work. I said what? You're a Dodge dealer. I said "how can you not fix the problem. The strap on the gas tank is broken. Dodge can't fix that? I think the service rep name was Triston. I hung up and called Harper Dodge. The Dodge Truck Service Rep. by the name of Tyler asked what the problem was. I proceeded to tell him the issue with the gas tank and that the vehicle was currently at Rocky Top Dodge and that they could not fix it. Tyler asked some background questions and then asked for my VIN. He then proceeded to tell me that Dodge had extended the warranty relating to the gas tank straps and that they could fix it. I had the truck taken from Rocky Top Dodge to Harper Dodge and they fixed it the next day. Amazing how Harper Dodge could fix the problem and Rocky Top Dodge could not. If I lived down that way, I know I would be taking all my Dodge vehicles to Harper Dodge for service. As far as Rocky Top Dodge, they are terrible. Bottom line is, Rocky Top did not want to deal with someone from out of town. I will let Dodge Corporate know that. Rocky Top Dodge is worthless!!!! Worst car buying experience I've ever had. First of all the process reminded me of the bad ol days because it took forever to get an actual figure on the vehicle I was interested in. Second, the sales person took my keys and explained that "they were going to LOOK at my car", nobody mentioned to me at all that they were going to drive off in it and be gone for 10 minutes?, if you want to drive the customers vehicle I understand but you should ask permission first. Third, the salesperson was young but was very arrogant at the same time, on several occasions he spoke to me in a condescending manner. I guess they must have taught him at car salesman School to stare directly into your eyes in a creepy way until you respond to their offer because he did and it was awkward and very strange. Fourth, price, I understand that car dealers are in business to make a profit but just to give you an idea of how far off they actually were in my trade situation, I ended up buying from another dealership where the vehicle I purchased was one year newer and have 30,000 Les Miles and the entire deal saved me $6,000 over the deal I was offered at Rocky Top Chrysler Dodge Jeep. They may have the absolute best location in Tennessee it is close to Sevierville and right off of the interstate and I'm guessing that's what keeps them in business? It would be very helpful if the owner would send in some secret shoppers so he or she could get a true idea of what happens there during business hours. read more
