The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. And those clear plastic boxes for extra bedding? Pure organizational wizardry. Marie Kondo would weep. Cozy blankets made me consider quitting my job and becoming a professional blanket burrito. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. Already plotting how to make this my permanent address.

They have cabins, RV spots, and tent spots, so they're perfect for whatever type of camping you're looking to do. For amenities, they have indoor and outdoor pools, mini golf, a small playground, an arcade, laundry room, weekend meals, weekend outdoor movies, a rec center, tennis and basketball courts, shuttleboard, and a general store. They're pretty close to Salida as well, so you can go spend a day by the river and grab some pizza and ice cream (see my other reviews for hints). Cutty's cabins are amazing, I highly recommend them. They're a little pricey, but they have bathrooms and kitchens in them, plus awesome little back decks that overlook the creek. Weekends at Cutty's are amazing. Breakfast and dinner at Joe's make for easy packing, and movies with popcorn and candy sold nearby at night are a great way to end the day. My kids' favorite is to go mini-golfing and then grab some ice cream from the general store afterward. It's a summer tradition for us!

There is also a well-marked trail on the property, for those who wish to commune with nature. Cheesemaking classes are also available. We purchased some of the goat milk lotion, it's made on site (I believe). Wonderful product for the dry Colorado air. I would definitely recommend!

I almost found the amusement value worth the 100% seasonal up charge! Gaining an extra star was the simply wonderful addition of two extension cords it the room. I've stayed in many a fancier hotel that did not have the brains to use these in rooms to make plugs accessible!

The renovated rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Lots of nice planters and areas to sit outside your room and enjoy the mountain air. Only downsides are that there are no pet friendly rooms and they have bright lights outside that keep the rooms illuminated inside at night. I would stay here again, but because of the no pet policy will have to look elsewhere.

Whizzing by on US 50, it looks like a run of the mill old motel. Nope. Rooms have been renovated. Ours was clean and looked nice inside. What we liked: Full size fridge/freezer Hot tub: It's reserve-in-advance by room in 30 minute blocks. No smelly tweakers, couples making out, or loud kids to kill the buzz (and enough chemicals to kill all germs). Our roomy shower had thick glass doors, preferable to a curtain. The self-operated pancake machine in the breakfast area was a fave of our kiddos, who could watch the pancake on a conveyor belt. Just ok: Breakfast was hit or miss. Biscuits/gravy were my fave. Pancakes did the trick. Coffee was fine. However, my scrambled egg discs were cold and the sausage patty tasted too weird to eat. Fruit, milk, OJ, and standard Continental fare were included, too. Bonus: The recent model smart tv was loaded with apps, but you have to login with your own credentials. People forgot to log out of Disney, Prime, and Netflix. While we have each of these, it's nice to have access if you don't already have them. The Salida Aquatic Center sits across the road if you want some hot spring-fed waters. Overall, Silver Ridge combines nicer-than-expected accommodations at a lower price than nearby chains while maintaining the intimate feel and personal touch of a local business. She said that they offer fans to the guests and quickly grabbed a box fan for me. She even offered to carry it to my room for me since I had a dog with me. They are SOOOO dog friendly and she gave some lovin's to my dog right away and offered some treats. Bed is comfortable and toiletries are great. The dispensable kind so you don't have to worry about little bottles everywhere. I would stay here again 100% and I haven't even gotten to sleep yet. I'm sure the rest of my stay will be great!! Top notch!!
